👤If this review helps you in any way, please hit HELPFUL. It will encourage me to continue my reviews of products I've purchased. It's under $25 and it'ssynced fast to my phone so I can tell you if it's discoverable (Note if you don't want then just synch device before turning on your speaker system/ Small/). Blue light is a nice touch and comes with a power and cable. It would be easy to rig up a power bank with a battery powered option. Okay... I love this device and have had it for a day now. The range for the phone is great, I can bring my phone with me to the house, and not have to worry about having a connection to my stereo. I don't like writing reviews that make a good reason to raise the price. If I were to get some for friends, I would look at my other options if the price was over $27. There was an update on 9/27/2018. There was a lot of background noise at the beginning of my review as my neighbor is having an underground pool installed in his yard, but it was not noise from this device. Please give this review a thumbs up, I appreciate it. It's real. I've been a customer of Amazon for twenty years. I don't get paid for my reviews. I wouldn't want to be. I pay for Amazon Prime so that I can get some of the perks.

👤This is just fine when it comes to sound quality. Anyone who only connects their phones or computers to this device will have no issues with it. This is a minor issue, but I have found some issues with using my phone in one room while using my speakers in another room. The DC power plug fits into the DC power jack in the back. The trick is to apply force to the pin in the jack just enough to alter the angle in a very small way. You wouldn't be able to see the difference with your own eyes, that's what I'm talking about. You will break it if you do it too much. By pushing the plug into the jack, you're adding some tension to the power connection on the other side. That seems to have fixed that, but I can't help but think that other customers are confused because their device kept shutting down due to this exact reason. If you want to switch from one device to another, you have to remove it from your phone. If you just connect to another one and then forget about it, the receiver will play a sound every time your phone picks it up. The receiver will no longer make that sound. You will have to physically walk to where you plugged it in and press the big button on the top to get it back into this discovery mode. I have tried to connect to it without a problem, but I get a pairing error on my phone. I will give this to my parents after I try another brand. I will see if those are easier to work with. I want to be able to switch between multiple audio devices without having to press a physical button. I am not able to do that with this device.

👤I've had this device for a while. I use it as a backup on my vacations since the gps I use on my camera has a logger as well. I noticed that the time and date in the gps records were incorrect when I traveled in June of 2019. Daylight savings time causes the time to be an hour off, but the local time it shows when exported to a spreadsheet is correct. The date shown should be October 17, 2019. The gps system had a problem in April. I wonder if this is an example of this. There is only one product on the QStarz web page that has a download. I have a lot of use out of this product, but it is time to move on.

👤I bought this product to provide track logs for my trip to Iceland. The basic device is a small one that is similar to a mini deck of cards or a pack of gum. The device has a couple of buttons and a switch that will allow you to log your position until you turn the device off. I don't see how that would work since there is no specific way to tell if you're in the right place. This isn't a goodGPS for looking at maps, finding directions, or reading speed. It will quietly write your location to its internal memory. I put it in my pocket when I turn it on. It has a decent antenna that it seems to grab and hold onto signals. It's worked well in many locations where my dedicated car and trail receivers don't work with, indoors, in my pocket, or back pack. The only problem I've had is in bigger buildings where I am more than a floor away from the top floor. The data on the device and settings can only be used on a PC. The serial number for registration is difficult to find in the box, and it lacks in user friendliness. The software is easy to use, but hard to understand with a help file. A little understanding of the concepts and formats of the log can help a lot. It gets more complicated if you aren't familiar with it. The settings are not as bad as the analysis can be. The settings are cool. You can set atrigger for the speed at which the data is recorded. I thought it was easy. I am using it for a long trip. I don't need to know my location every second, so I've set it to record every 15-30 seconds while I am moving slowly. I record a point every 5 seconds when moving faster than 30 mph, which gives me better resolution if I want to take photos on a bus, boat, or airplane. The device seems to record a continuous log, and inputting that data to your computer is not too bad. I don't like that it keeps recording data even when I try to download it from the device. I use the device to export a GPX file. It's not easy, but with a bit of experimentation you can get what you need. I don't like the software because I'm used to it. You can use that software to correct for time zone errors between your device and camera's clock. Specific place names and locations will be grabbed. It is a weak point of the device because it is much handier for photography. I like the device because it has a lot of memory. If you store at intervals on the order of 5 seconds or more, you can easily store 2 weeks worth of data. I like to have the battery charge over night, but it is good for 2 days. There isn't a lot of control on the device itself. It would be nice to have more indicators of what it is doing. The device is not compatible with the Mac. I'm not sure I'd be so patient if I were you. It is possible togeotagging via other devices or capable cameras, but trackers are an advantage as they allow you togeotag to multiple camera consistently. They prevent you from having to use the camera's battery power. The lack of display increases battery life, and trackers are small and pocket-able.

3. GlobalSat BU 353 S4 USB Receiver Black

GlobalSat BU 353 S4 USB Receiver Black

A built-in gps patch antenna. A built-in roof mount Magnet. 48 channels of all-in-view tracking SiRF Star IV is a gps device.

Brand: Globalsat

👤The NMEAGPS Receiver is used for applications. Does not provide location services to Windows. It was weatherized to handle all but submersion. It can be attached to many surfaces without damage. The body panels of a car are included. complies with the standards of the NMEA. The interface is a standardusb-to-serial The COM4 settings are used by the NMEA interface. There is no support for Windows location services. The device is an NMEA device. It will work in any location that works with NMEA, but no modern Windows applications. It is only IPX6 rated, meaning it is not truly waterproof. It can handle a lot of rain. Only one location update per second. This is not a 5hertz version. There's a software package that will connect to an NMEA device and create a Windows Sensor for use with location services. This is a software solution for the hardware manufacturer's lack of native software. There are some bugs. It works. The package in question is calledGPSdirect. My only problems are with the software. I know the device complies with the standards it claims to support. There are newer standards in 2015.

👤They started giving me times in 1905 after using these for a while. I get the correct date when I boot up. The receiver no longer responds and sends data after I tried to go back to the script I wrote. Until the date changes, it works well with gpsd. It works well, other than producing data that is useless. I'm not sure if we're talking about the same device. The one I have connects to a port at a rate of 5000 baud. A driver is needed to read serial data. Any application can read the data once the driver is installed, I wrote a Python script that opens the device and reads the "sentences". The first consideration is that the initial read could be a bit long. The reader has to sync with the stream, which is not difficult considering the second consideration, which is each sentence is terminated with two newline characters. When you get a full line that starts with a '$', you sync by reading. I can read the data from the receiver using "cat". The heading sentence is not generated by the receiver. The antennae is bulky, but magnetic.

👤This is my 3rd one. I use them on Windows 10 64 bit machines to do the time setting for some applications that I run. The mini-disk that comes with the puck has a utility. Your windows time is dead on if that utility is running. Turn off Windows internal time setting so they don't compete. Highly recommend the software. The program and gps ran 24x7 and the difference between Time.is and this was +0.011 seconds. I have an Amazon purchased gps repeater that is stuck on a broom handle against a window in my basement and I am seeing 7 satellites from it. The sensitivity is very good. The HDOP is 1.9 and thePDOP is 2.5. Anything below 4 is considered great.

4. B06 Plus Bluetooth Receiver Streaming

B06 Plus Bluetooth Receiver Streaming

The portable stereo accessory can be used with 2 devices at the same time. You don't have to worry about missing calls because you can enjoy your music. If your last pair of devices are within the range of the wireless network, the car receiver will automatically connect to them. The 1Mii is capable of achieving a range of up to 50 to 70 feet in open air and up to 20 to 30 feet in the dark. Without obstacles indoors. It has a chip that ensures high fidelity audio signal for music streaming to those speakers or home stereo systems that don't have the capability. It supports aptx and aptX Low Latency. The 3D audio can be turned on or off by pressing the "3D" button. When you switch to 3D audio, the green light will be on. When plugged into a power outlet, the Hi-fi audio receiver can power on and off automatically. Plug and play is easy to use. The unit has a power adapter. Plug into computer speakers, home stereo systems or other speaker systems via the 3.5mm or RCA cable, then pair with the audio devices that are compatible with the Bluetooth audio protocol. You can listen to the music after that. This product is not a transmitter. It is easy to control your music with voice commands with the help of this accessory. The audio cable should be used to connect the receiver to the speaker.

Brand: 1mii

👤I bought a stereo receiver. This thing was built in the 70s. It's a great work of art. It's beautiful. I play music from my phone through the receiver with an input from the 2015's tape 1. I wanted to cut the cord. I bought the B06BT receiver based on reviews. I plugged it in. It was turned on. It was found on my phone. I plugged it into the outlet that was switched back in 2015. The B06 also turns off when I turn off the unit. It was easy. It works well so far.

👤It is an excellent receiver. I used to have a computer attached to my which was excellent powered speakers, but they have been discontinued and you don't want to buy them now at the high price dealers are asking. My wife wanted me to get rid of that computer and install a new one because of the home's aesthetic. The speakers are in the foyer, and she found out that a computer was installed there. I can't blame her. The computer looked out of place. I ordered this receiver from Amazon in the spirit of "a happy wife is a happy life" and I am very happy that I did. The sound produced from those speakers is comparable to what I heard on the computer and the ease of use, convenience, and aesthetic of having a Bluetooth receiver instead of a computer in our foyer is much more acceptable to her. This particular receiver has a good sound quality over theBluetooth transmission. It was easy to setup. I didn't look at the instructions until I had the unit up and running. The power supply is connected to a switched outlet. This receiver turns on when I turn on the outlet. The first pair was very quick. You only have to pair it one time. Then it remembers your connection. The connection to my cell phone is automatic now. I own quite a few of them and the reception is excellent. There are two levels of sound quality. When the large roundLED shows blue, that is a regular sound. The sound is enhanced when the "3D" button is pressed. The 3D effect has only been used by me. It sounds better to my ears in that way. You may disagree. I use this particular receiver in our foyer with different computer speakers.

👤Some may remember or read my initial review of this product and that I was not impressed. I gave it another try after the seller offered to provide me with a replacement unit, and I'm so happy that they did. This is a device that takes up a small footprint. I want you to color me. The quality of sound when driven through the provided cables was excellent. The setup involved connecting the 1Mii unit to my Receiver and driving the sound out through my Boston Acoustics speakers via 12 AWG solid copper wire. The Lion the Beast the Beat is a song from Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. If you haven't heard anything, I suggest you listen. The video can be found on Vevo and on the internet. The sound quality of the jacks is very pleasing and not distorted. Considering, it's all the more impressive. I'm using the 1Mii B06 Plus device to play music from my iPad, and I'm also using my Receiver to play music from my speakers. I am very satisfied. Well done!

A built-in gps patch antenna. A built-in roof mount Magnet. There is a serial port interface. Slim Profile Housing. It is compatible with most software. If you are using a laptop, you will need a cable set.

Brand: Globalsat

👤The Uniden SDS 100 works great with this, you just get the cable from Uniden, and you save $25+ compared to buying the Uniden gps kit. The radio will detect it if you connect the cable.

👤I use this to connect to my mobile radio. The radio needs aGPS to function properly when it's on the go. None of the other gps receivers worked for me. The serial gps device works for the TM-700A. I made a box that converts the 6 PIN DIn to the 5V DC that I can use to plug in a 5v DC transformer. The gps came up and locked when the radio was plugged in.

👤The Uniden rebadges is completely interchangeable with the Uniden gps puck, including the 6-pin DIN connector. It picks up a usable signal in my basement, and has good sensitivity. The data is industry standard. When searching for satellites, the LEDs blink when they get a fix. Here's the wiring diagram for the black and shield. The ground. Red is required for 50mA and Green is required for 50mA and White is required for 50mA. In, but not needed for most applications.

👤The GlobalSat BR-355S4 is the one I bought that has the PS/2 port, not the one with the plug. You need to provide a separate 5VDC power source for it to work. The attached picture shows the radio with "GPS Data OK" on it, along with the pinout information for both modules. Attach GlobalSat Pin5 TX to Uniden Yellow. Attach GlobalSat Pin1 GND to Uniden Green and a 5V ground. Attach GlobalSat Pin2 VCC to the power source and you'll get 5V across the center two conductors. There is a pinout on the internet. You probably have something in your junk drawer. Plug it into the cigarette charge and then find the two wires with 5V on them using a volt meter. You can find more information on the GlobalSat's website, but you can probably do it from the picture. You can solder wires if you can read pinout diagrams. I was very happy that this came together quickly. The radio now displays lat, lon, course and speed in knots with one button push. It was pretty slick.

👤The unit has worked well with several Icom radios. An interface cable is trivial. The unit is in the side of my house. It's easy to work with. If I needed another such unit, I would recommend and purchase again.

👤I attached this to my Uniden SDS-100 scanner and it registered 'GPS' on the screen. I had a Plug & Play installation. The reception seems to work well with this receiver.

👤Overall rating is 3 stars for erratic output and cost. The price of the bare clone modules is 3x the price of the puck and cabling. The output is not ttl, it's rs232 which is inverted and the voltage on mine is - 4.5v to + 7.7v. There is an added converter. Couldn't get a fix. There are twelve sv in view. Thenav rcvr warning is V. After being off for 12 hours, the device gets a lock and is powered up. GPRMC messages are emitted in a staccato fashion, making gps use as a clock with a seconds indicator a little troublesome. The pattern is around 1100ms, 300ms, 800, 800 and then repeating. The bare $10 gps modules are not a problem with this.

👤Get it, over the road trucker review. It is affordable and does everything the expensive gps does. I have owned this gps for about 2 months and it has not let me down. It tells you how fast you are going, how far from the next waypoint you are, and the time of arrival. Time zones are adjusted from Satelite. It is not worth paying $400 for a gps when you can buy a better one. It is good to know that if I do update it will be free. Just buy it! You can beat it for $70 bucks. 2 months owner!

👤I have been using the gps for two weeks. It was worth the money spent. I use it in my semi and it has taken me where I need to be. Great purchase.

👤I replaced my old gps with a big screen one and it works great! Offline maps help in a rural area but nothing compares to having a real gps device. I put the screen in the corner of the car because it doesn't interfere with driving and because it doesn't take up a lot of space in the window. There are so many options for navigation on the touchscreen that it is very sensitive. This size is better than the 5. Audio is clear and can focus on the road. It was a great GOS for the price and definitely recommend it.

👤This gps is not worth anything. The routes are so old that they are unreliable and trying to update the maps is a joke. The clock is not set to the correct time. The device turns itself off after 20 minutes of use. The cheap plastic sun visor is a joke, it doesn't fit together properly, and it snaps when you try to attack it with the gps. The money was wasted.

👤I had to use a magnifying glass to see the print and icons because the instructions for setup were poor. Adding to Favorite addresses was very confusing and I was only able to input two addresses with no names.

👤The product is inferior compared to the other products. Poor mapping doesn't allow high number addresses. I was impressed with the looks but not worth the money. I bought a new one after I sent my old one back.

👤I thought I should try it closer to home after purchasing this for a future trip. The cup wouldn't fit on my dashboard or the front window. I used an aftermarket holder. I was about halfway to my destination when it stopped. It won't turn back on after I messed with it. I should have given the money to charity.

👤I bought a gps for a trip to visit relatives. I'm not very tech savvy and it was hard to find alternative directions when I inputed my out-of-state address locations. My 35 year old tech savvy son had issues. If you have a map route to follow, the gps adjusts nicely to route changes along the way. Common sense tells you which way to go when you pull off the road for gas or a rest area, even though the gps only indicated the wrong direction in a couple of minor spots. I like the fact that it confirmed the road you were on, as the road signs were often not posted. It advises you of the correct speed limit. I plan to input the next address after I reach the destination, as it seems to pick up the town or route location on the gps just fine. The sun visor was too small. I would recommend this device.

7. Qstarz BT Q1000XT Bluetooth Vibration Waypoints

Qstarz BT Q1000XT Bluetooth Vibration Waypoints

The device is detected by the PC as a disk and does not require drivers. Time to First Fix. The average is 1/33/35 seconds. It was warm and cold at the start. AGPS: 15 seconds. The output message is NMEA 0183. The default is GGA, GSA, GSV, RMC. Without aid, the accuracy is 3.0m 2D-RMS 3m CEP. The user's Frequency is 1 - 5 Hz. The dimensions are 72.2 (L) X 46.5 (W) X 20 (H)mm.

Brand: Qstarz

👤My first self-contained gps receiver was this one. I bought a non-logging receiver called the XGPS 150A from dual electronics and it works well, but I didn't want to pair it with a device that I really needed. I bought the Q1000XT because it does work. I thought about getting the cheaper version, but decided to get the logging for the price, so I can use it one day. Even indoors, this locks very quickly. It works with everything I need it to do. I tried the logging and it showed the track that I took, speed and altitude. The software is so bad that I am giving four stars instead of five. It is not intuitive to use and only works on Windows. There is a utility written in Java that works on the Macbook too. The cover is cheap and nasty, but better than nothing.

👤I'm very happy with my first gps logger. I bought it in time for my trip to the Puget Sound. It worked like a charm, be it Olympic Nat'l Park, Victoria, or Seattle. The thick interior walls of the EMP in Seattle made it difficult for me to find a problem. The software works. I use gpicsync to write the data to the EXIF, but the included software works perfectly for getting the data. The battery life is amazing. I would usually charge this every night, but it could be turned off at night. Haven't used the feature, can't really think of any uses.

👤Does what it is supposed to do. The battery life is great. The QTravel software that was provided with the unit was the problem I encountered. When I tried to import a GPX file from the software, it was missing a lot of data. I spent a lot of time with their support staff, they were not the most responsive but willing to try to help, we were able to determine that there was a bug in QTravel, but Qstarz Data Viewer, also provided, would export correctly. I asked when the Q travel software would be updated, but was not given a response. It's working for my purpose and I'm happy with it now.

👤I own a lot of gpss but was attracted to this one because of its review, size, battery life and dual log/nav function. I got to try for a week. 1. Tracking accuracy and sensitivity. This is the best I've ever had, compared to the older models. Tracking in a thick canopy is very good, and correct when my forerunner 310 started to drift. I put the unit in my pocket and it tracked correctly. There are 2 wireless connections - no problem. I can't use my mobile PC navigation prog. It is possible that it is user fault, but will report back here later. The software is delicate and so-so. It can be tag some distance away, even though the track log is accurate, as reported by some others. It is likely the software tag algorithm issue, so spend some time figuring and playing with it. There are ways around this, but it's not the point. 5. Someimes units are not detected. I have to switch off and on again. Tracking accuracy, sensitivity, and battery life are more important to me. It can get a rating of 5.5 stars for these 3 attributes. I can only rate it as a 4 star product because it is not perfect. The picky users who are not familiar with computer stuff are irritated by the errors ingeotagging. I will play with it for a while and come back with more information.

8. Upgraded Bluetooth Cancelling Headphones Hands Free

Upgraded Bluetooth Cancelling Headphones Hands Free

Also, note: The speakers are not included in the package. The item is for speakers. The latest noise cancellation and digital signal processor technologies, which can eliminate echo and block out intrusive background noise, can be found in their audio receiver. Up to 16 hours of battery. The working time of this. It takes up to 16 hours to play music or make calls. It takes 2.5 hours to fully charge the device by using a Type-C fast charging cable. This music accessory can be used while charging, which is very convenient. A built-in microphone and one "MFB" button help you make hands-free calls. There is a navigation app that supports voice notification. You don't have to look at the phone. Make sure you drive safely. The portable stereo accessory can be used with 2 devices at the same time. You don't have to worry about missing calls because you can enjoy your music. If your last pair of devices are within the range of the wireless network, the car receiver will automatically connect to them.

Brand: Comsoon

👤I use it in the car. It sounds good. The car is easy to plug in because the battery doesn't last long. I would prefer a neutral tone to English, it's a mouthful to interrupt your listening. I'm still using the thing so I'm getting three stars. The thing is talking. When volume is adjusted to max, it's important to note "maximum volume". "Power On", "Connected", etc. will be said by power on. It's annoying and disruptive in the middle of the night. I can't tell if there is a way to stop this feature. Things should not be making things talk. People have to listen to it again and again. It's best to add a neutral electronic sound to make speech quieter. Would not buy again. The battery sound quality is good. Even if the battery lasts 15 minutes or more, it's still going to beELL at you. If you plug it in, it must be powered off, charged a little and powered on again to stop interrupt. It's a Demanding little thing.

👤This product is amazing. The sound quality is very good and the battery life is longer than expected. It is easy to use. It would be a good idea to buy.

👤I use it in my car. My daughter gave me a new cell phone, but it didn't have a 3.5 port, which meant I couldn't connect it to my car radio. I researched and found a great receiver for cars. As you can see in the picture, it worked perfectly for listening to music on my phone. I love using my phone's navigator. When it stops music, the directions come through very clearly. I have not found charging it every day necessary since I am not diving every day. I don't use the phone call feature on my cell phones while I'm driving because I don't talk on my cell phones. I purchased the Rapidusb C car charge, which is compatible with the S20, S20 Plus, and S10+. You can see in the picture that the Fast Car Charger with Type C Cable 3.3ft is used for charging.

👤The device works. I keep it plugged in to a charger so I don't have to worry about the battery. The accent that does the voice feedback sounds like they don't understand the words they're saying, such as someone who doesn't speak English at all and is reading the words out loud. If my purchase was more than a temporary vehicle, I would return it and buy a different one. If this feature is bothering you, look elsewhere.

👤The range is much longer than 33ft, savesay I was in a steel building with several pieces of equipment between my phone and the reciever, no connection issues. It sounded like my phone was plugged into my radio. I was going to replace the radio with a speaker, but now I don't have one. The phone lasted less than the reciever.

👤I have a VSX-1130 in my living room and I really like it. I wanted to buy one for my basement, but didn't want to spend a lot. The price is 3 times the price of the 1130 I can't tell the difference in sound. The 1130 has bells and whistles, but the 534 is light and easy to set up. What else would you like? The sound from the 534 blew away the old Onkyo I replaced. Very happy. I would have gotten the 534 instead of the 1130 if I could do it over. Very happy. I replaced my old receiver with a cheaper one in my living room. It sounds better. Still very happy with it.

👤This is a fine piece of equipment if you don't need to use the HDMI connection to your TV. I needed the ARC capability when I bought this to use with my new TV. When the receiver is turned off, the signal will pass through. Problems exist with it on or off. I have a satellite input to the receiver and the ARC connected to it. There is an audio delay when you pause a tv show and start again. When you channel surf or change channels, the output to the tv becomes scrambled and you will lose the output altogether. I had to stop using the tv receiver because it was so bad. It took me a while to realize that the problem was the AV receiver and that I should have connected the tv directly to the satellite box. I missed the 30 day return so I'm stuck with the problem.

👤If you have small space, you're a great receiver. I own a huge Pioneer VSX that is twice the size and weight of the 534. If it's too big to fit in a cabinet. If there is plenty of power and features, a smaller surround can fit anywhere. Unless you wire the unit to the TV to complete setup, you cannot get out of setup mode. I didn't want to use the receiver to run my TV. I only wanted to use an optical connection. I had to run the TV, DVD and Echo through the receiver after the TV prompt. The main front speaker connection allows for 14 gauge wire while the center and back channels speaker ins only allow 16 gauge wire.

👤I wanted to test this receiver out for a while before I submitted a review. I'm very happy with this Pioneer. This was a great upgrade to my old Kenwood 5.1, which did not support the new DTS, and which was replaced by a slightly newer Yamaha that bit the dust after a power surge. I don't like to listen to music but I do like the fact that a receiver can belt out music and a picture with no distortion. The receiver delivers on both fronts. Older and newer CDs are clear. The dialog is clear while the movies boom through my subs. I wish they put a second slot on the front of the device for quicker, more convenient firmware updates and simple mp3 players. Follow the instructions carefully. The website gives more information on the steps, but they require you to turn off HDMI. If you need a receiver in a pinch, this Pioneer is worth the money because it is well worth the money. I put a couple of AC fans on top of the receiver to keep it cool. The previous Yamaha I owned was so hot I could fry an egg. I'm not taking any chances with this one. This application is where the receiver shines, because I bought an Lg UBK80 4k player. The sound of Ex Machina was amazing, with clear dialogue and booming lows of the soundtrack. The explosions boomed when I watched the 4k version of Aquaman. When the Atlanteans shot off in the ocean, my room shook. I am using a Sony sub and a Yamaha sub with Bose surround sound. The receiver made everything shine. For the first time, I could tell that I had surround speakers.

10. Bad Elf 2200 Black Silver

Bad Elf 2200 Black Silver

You can connect up to 5 devices at a time. Also compatible with the iPod touch 5th generation, the new iPad, and the new iPad mini. The large screen has a backlight. The datalogger has over 100 hours of tracking data. The reporting rate is 10Hz and the battery life is extra long. Rugged and splash-proof.

Brand: Bad Elf

👤I am in need of a sub-meter accuracy gps, and have been doing a lot of research. If I had not had such a bad experience with their cheapest device, I would consider getting their $600 model. I'm going to pay hundreds of dollars to rent a real GNSS device, because there's no way I'm going to use another Bad Elf product. I know they didn't care about my experience, but I'm not interested in their high-end model because of it. It can get a slightly better fix than an iPhoneGPS, which is about 1-2 meters better accuracy. It is great to have it recording constantly and it can record a lot of points. It records wildly inaccurate locations (100s of meters off), or just records the point where I first turned it on, regardless of where I go. The communication between the app and the unit isn't reliable, which may be the crux of the problem. When I turn on tracking in the app, it will show it is enabled, but I will later learn it is not on the device. Even though it looks like it did, tapping Save POI often does nothing. Half the value of the device is that it can be in a backpack or resting on a survey monument within the range of the device, but I learned that it only gets at least one POI recorded if you tap it twice. I didn't get good data after I downloaded the recording and left the field. I contacted Bad Elf, and after a brief email exchange, it was obvious that this wasn't a bug but a hardware problem. I needed a replacement unit for crickets. I've sent several emails to see if I can get a response, but it seems like I'm stuck with a very expensive dud. I hope this review will save other people from the same fate. The sad thing was that I was considering getting the Surveyor version of it to get more accuracy, until I realized that they wouldn't stand behind their products.

👤I used this unit to log my location during my trip from the US to Cambodia, Vietnam, and Tokyo. The logging rate was set to 5 seconds. It was always on. The entire trip used 20% of the logging memory. It never failed to work for an entire day. It didn't charge on two occasions. It ran out of charge after 36 hours. It was able to keep lock on most flights, but not on the 787. I wish it used microusb. The battery indicator goes from all bars to one bar down. I would like to take trips with other devices than just the ones on the iPad. Maybe they could publish the protocol so someone else could implement it.

👤I like these units. They are small and have no memory or battery issues. It works with your phone and doesn't need a phone to log data. It is a great tracker. I use it to track where I have been. My negatives are accurate. Even with a dozen satellite locks, the average accuracy is closer to 4.5m. The best Bad Elf units I have ever seen were 9' and that was only for a couple points. I took a sample of a million points and saw 12 out of 12. The advertised 2.5m is far less than the less than. The only way to improve that is to upgrade to the GNSS which will cost you 3X more for an increase in accuracy of 5 or so feet. You can only export data in the outdated KML or GPX formats. Even with the accuracy issues, this is the best unit I have ever used for cost, size, and ease of use. It has been my go for over a decade and I will continue for many more.

👤I bought this unit to make my Solix 12 position information more accurate. It was mounted on a Ram D VHF antenna mount, which was perfect for my bass boat. There were no interference problems. I am using it to map the bottom of a historically significant bay. It allows me to run a parallel track with close spacing to make sure my DI and SI collections are fully covered.

👤Works as advertised. I put my Helix 12 SI up front. I now have a stationary heading indicator. The online video shows you how to program your Helix to use the external sensor instead of the internal one.

👤I mounted this unit on the rear deck. The chart is easy to navigate, and I am certain that the craft is going in a certain direction. It is worth owning. The only way to get there is with an antenna. I secured mine to the rear deck with a simple method. The satellites are able to see the antenna from several hundred miles above you. They can see over your shoulder.

👤I use my Helix 7 on my trolly motor to keep my heading on point.

👤Before drilling holes, be sure to try out the install location on your boat. The unit has a magnetic compass, so any motor, speaker or magnet will throw it off.

👤The accuracy is increased to within a few feet.

👤I have mounted this on my Polaris Ranger for ice fishing and will purchase a second for my boat. I was hoping for better accuracy in the gps, heading sensor, and speed areas.

👤Happy husband, happy wife, happy life? It was a good purchase. It is what it says it is. If you use Graphs to find the fish, you need one.

👤The product is authentic. Excellent price.
