You have the ability to secure your dog within a set boundary, and remotely train them outside of it. The Boundary Wire has built-in lightning protection, and the Wire-break Transmitter alarm can alert you to that. The dog has a second collar. The anti-Linger feature prevents the dog from running down the collar receiver battery. Medium size dogs and up.
👤We ordered this kit and an additional wire and collar to keep our dogs on a 3.5 acres property. It was easy to install. I highly recommend using a gas powered edger. I rented a one from Home Depot and dug the entire path around the property within an hour. As we laid the wire down, my husband and I filled it in with topsoil. Our dogs figured out the training plan within two days, even though the manual says it should last 30 days. The product was easy to install and the quality was excellent.
👤The home base stopped working after less than two months. The collars are useless without a perimeter.
👤I like the invisible fence system. If the line breaks, I know the fence isn't working because I hear a noise on the base. It was worth the money.
👤I am very pleased with the product and love all the options. Our dogs are happy too.
👤It takes a bit to install on your own, especially if you have a big yard.
👤We ordered a few different systems and went with the sport dog. You get what you pay for.
👤I like the Sportdog brand. Have used their e-collars for a long time. The collar is huge. This giant thing is too large for me to love, even though I wanted to. You can't put this on a small dog. It doesn't weigh much but it's too big. I love the inground fence 100C. I returned the system when I received it, because I was going to upgrade to this. I wouldn't put it on my dog. Maybe when the technology improves, they can put these features in a smaller receiver.
The 2nd Generation eXtreme Dog Fence STANDARD GRADE Kit covers up to 6 acres. The updated electronics are designed to work with new collar options. 3 Antennas, 12x battery check. Most other inground dog fence systems claim to be water resistant. The eXtreme Dog Fence can be submerged up to 10' deep. Your dog can swim with the collar on. The standard fence kit includes 20 gauge high tensile boundary wire with heavy protective jacket, digital transmitter, collar receiver, training flags and Splice kits. This dog fence has a one year warranty. Your warranty lasts for 5 years when you register your fence. This fence has been manufactured for more than 25 years and has a reputation for reliability and performance. The electric fence for dogs are manufactured in the United States of America. They are standing by to help you set up your fence, train your dogs and puppies, or deal with any issue that comes up.
👤The Extreme Dog Fence system took about 4 hours to install, but I am happy with the results for my mastiff. I was a little worried about the training, and made several calls for reassurance to the manufacturer, who I must say was absolutely amazing, even answering the phone on a Sunday and showing a lot of patience, and Johnny Allen who gave me amazing advice and instructions. It took about 10 minutes for him to understand the dog fence flags and Johnny told me not to let him off the leash until he was conditioned. We now let Brutus out for 4 to 5 hours a day, and he likes to chase squirrels, he is a big dog, and it is nice to see him lying in the sun and enjoying life. Many of my friends told me that it was cruel to leave a dog chained up in the house all day and that the electric dog fence was cruel. I have dealt with customer support overseas, where I spend a lot of time on the phone and rarely get my problem solved, and I feel less confident with the support I am given. It was refreshing to get American based customer support and an American made product. I researched many different products on the internet but chose extreme because of the reviews I found and the company who would support me during the selection, installation, training and long term support. I am confident that this won't be an issue, because I have received a high level of service so far. There are some highlights from my experience. Customer service and support are outstanding. Product 3 was very well made. 7 days a week phone support. I can honestly say that I don't know how I lived without this system after using it. My friends will be told about my experience. Team Extreme...you guys are awesome. The family is called the Blanchards.
👤When shopping for a product on Amazon, I rely on customers' reviews. The company will give a 1-year free supply of batteries to customers if they get a 5 star review. That may explain the high rating this product is receiving. This product is not more effective than the PetSafe invisible fence and is more expensive than other products. I bought dog leashes for my dogs. I could not use the collar to train my dog. I did not receive the promised number of flags. The size of the batteries is not standard, so you need to buy them from the company for twice the price of similar batteries. The batteries are always used even when the system is not connected to the electricity because the collar does not have a switch on/off. Everything else is similar to PetSafe and not unique to this company. The product keeps my dogs within the parameters. The company and customers who accepted the bribe were dishonest.
👤I did a lot of research before making a decision. My German Shephard mix is a very smart dog and she was able to get underneath the chain link fence and visit the neighbors at our new house. The chain link fence was never going to cut it with a houdini dog, so I decided to purchase a better deterrent. I chose this brand because of: 1. The price was competitive. 2. The thicker wire and lightening protectors were included instead of the nickel-and-diming ones. 3. The strength of the correction on the collar is very strong. 4. It was very convenient to have twisted wire. I was surprised at how easy it was to set it up. I separated the front and back yards by running it along the bottom of the chain link fence. This resulted in a slightly wider boundary from the fence than the rest of the yard, which did not bother me because this was the section of fence my dog kept digging under and pushing up. The programming was easy to understand and the electronics were easy to set up. My houdini dog has not escaped the yard since I installed this system a month ago. I was impressed by the company that called and followed me to see how the installation went. Great customer service.
Give your pets a secure yard to play in with their ground containment system that includes electric surge protection. If you want to personalize your dog's collar, you should teach it to stay in the secure play area with a sound only training mode and 4 levels of static on his receiver collar. It's any yard. Do it yourself project comes with step by step instructions on how to design a personalized fence. The waterproof receiver is light. Their collars are light, slim and designed to fit small, medium, large and x-large pets that are 8 pound and up with neck sizes 6 to 26 inch. Add more than 2 animals. The fence system can be set with an unlimited number of collars. Long battery life. The collar has a low battery indicator and can last up to 2 months. Their pet product experts are available Monday through Saturday.
👤The dogs will wear the collar consistently and sometimes they can walk over the wire and not be shocked. I don't trust the system as much as I should, and it's frustrating when we make sure the loop is on aND high, but on the other hand the line is close to our garage and the house. I will use it and test it to see if it works. It was bought in December of last year. I can't put my faith in the system when I know my dog's life is at risk living near major roads. It will never be sure if it will work.
👤Customer service made me tighten the collars even more. They had to care for the holes in their neck for weeks. I went to work on the area after buying some wooden stakes from Home Depot. I staked out the entire area I wanted to fence in. I put the wire around the stakes. I plugged the flags in and put the collar on. It worked for three months. My dog was always out of the yard. I bought new batteries after I ran out. Nope. Tightened the collar. Nope. Upped the strength. Nope. Everything looks good. There were no breaks in the wire. When I test it, the collar emits a sound. My dogs are no longer allowed in the yard. It stops working after three months. I am going to call customer service tomorrow to see if they can give me any advice, but I am sick and this happened during a holiday week.
👤I live on 3 acres in the Sierra foot hills and have had a fence for about 5 years. It recently gave me indigestion and has been fixed with a new transmitter. It really made financial sense to change systems with 3 collars investment. I have a take on the system and some hints. 1) Dogs are not the same. The huskies are persistent with their thigh prey response. Maybe the collars work 80%. Although costly, the gps collar has proven helpful. The Golden/Chow is fence compliant. The wire loop is a weak point for water penetration. Securing wire tightly to other fences can cause stress if less rigid structures are used. You can afford the heaviest wire. Shrink tubing can be used for solders, but mostly not. A wrap of tape holds up wire nuts. After 5 years, the Petsafe supplied caps begin to degrade. These were not reliable. Animals break the wires when buried or tied to fence wire. Settling earth can cause buried wire to be under a driveway. Allow some slack in the wire by placing it in a conduit. The 1/2” Irrigation tube protects the garden areas where you might be digging around. The collar unit is waterproof but has a heavier collar. The plastic snap is broken by dogs. It's hard to find the collar when it comes off. There are four The Model 300-1310 transmitter is my third replacement. The original was destroyed by a lightning strike. They didn't design in surge protection and fuses for this unit. Petsafe cost for a surge protection unit is ridiculous. The aftermarket has worked well. The second unit seems to have an electronic failure. A real pain to fix, even with an electronic tester, because you have to physically inspect thousands of feet of wire and splices with escaped dogs. Reliability and product robustness are only part of the story. Depending on your dogs, it works well. The start-up can be expensive and it can take a long time to fix it. Replacement batteries, lost collars and failed transmitters are maintenance costs. Some relief is offered by aftermarket suppliers. Petsafe could offer more help. Petsafe has always been quick to reply when I have contacted them for customer support. It's not so much replacing reasonably priced replacement parts. It is functional and no better alternative than I have found. It offers some measure of insurance, rather than having to think about replacing lost, stolen or fatally injured pets.
The kit can be expanded to cover 100 acres with more wire and flags. The collar has two-hour quick charge and one to two month battery life. The technology of the dryer. Contain an unlimited number of dogs with more than one collar. And up. Tone and vibration are given by the collar before moving to one of seven static stimulation levels.
👤Don't expect the dog to learn on their own. The dog will learn quickly if you put it on a fence. If you put it in the yard, it's confusing to the dogs and they might not use the full area. Don't use 24/7. Instructions say to not use more than 12 hours a day. If you don't take these off, the dog's neck will get sores and you'll be out of use until they heal. We know from experience. We try to give them more nights without them than with them, but we don't always take them off at night. They get a break. I'm sure they don't land on the same spot when we put them back on. Our dogs come into the garage at night. If you use a shock collar, I recommend you consider the same plan. There are many settings. If you don't know how to use these, you may return them thinking they don't work. How to turn them on, how to set the shock intensity, and how to set the boundary space are some of the things to learn. Depending on your yard size and dog attitude, you'll want to find the right setting for those things. When I need to charge it, I like the flashing green light and red light. The batteries last a long time. We're very happy with our purchase. We have two big dogs that work great at less than 12 the intensity. If you get these, read the instructions and start at the lowest level. My dog jumps up in the air and barks at level 4. Don't assume your dog needs full intensity, it's not the highest setting. These are great. The older version is better for size and functions, but they are smaller.
👤An 18 month old Doberman requires a lot of exercise. It has been a challenge to prevent him from disappearing into the woods. We take him to the dog park to blow off steam, but that's not always an option. We'd like to provide him with a lot of free space, but it's expensive. I ordered this product after researching the invisible fence. Installation was easy. The yard is large and surrounded by woods. We used up all the wiring. I picked up another 500' of invisible fence wire from the store. We looped 1500 feet of wire around the yard. We had a crack running across the driveway at around the halfway point between the house and the road that we filled with driveway repair goop. I used the edger attachment on my weed whacker to cut trenches and bury the wire in the rest of the yard. We used landscaping staple to secure the wire under the bushes and around the perimeter. Nature should do the rest. I used a drill to twist the wires that cross through the containment area and put them in the garage. The collar was set to be triggered by the transmitter at 5' away from the wire. The collar is set to the lowest level, which my wife and I tried on our arms to see what it felt like. It was time to train after everything was tested. We walked the dog around the perimeter. We would stop at random flags and say "no!", walk past them and then walk close enough to the wire to cause the static. That's all it took. I thought we'd be following the training guide for a month but he won't go near any of the flags if he's chasing birds, rabbits, balls, the kids or our other dog. He's on a leash. We get close to the flags and he stops and lays down. We couldn't recommend this more because it's a game-changer for us and our active boy.
It is easy to install. The system includes 650 Ft boundary wire that can be expanded to more land with the purchase of additional wires. You can place the wire on the ground or underground to keep your dog where you want it. Automatic dog training. Once you install the system, the collar works. As your dog tries to cross the boundary wire, it will send a sound and a shock. The closer your dog goes, the more intense the shock will be, which will help you train him back to the play area. Support multiPLE dogs. The receiver is waterproof and can be used for all kinds of dogs, including dogs with a neck size of 8 inches or more. You can easily control an unlimited number of dogs by purchasing additional compatible receivers. Professional and thoughtful design. The electric fence can be adjusted to control the width of the boundary. If the wire is broken, the wire break warning can be used. When the low-battery indicator is displayed, you should charge your receiver. There is a lifetime warranty. There is a 90-day money back guarantee and a lifetime warranty for each product that you purchase from the company. If you have any issues or concerns, please contact them.
👤The wire was tiny. It seems to be working well so far. When our dogs run off when we aren't looking, we hear a lot of crying and low moans, and one of them tried to cross it. I don't think we will have any more problems after that. Customer service has been excellent. They offered a used kit to send us for free, so we could buy another one. We will be waiting for that. I'm pretty happy.
👤The setup was easy, but the testing was confusing because the system didn't detect the collar every time. The wire is very thin and snapped twice. I'm not very pleased that I put the collar on my dogs. The system was set at 30 then 10 and never worked again. At one point my dog sat on the wire. I will return the product if I get the same results with the new wire I already have.
👤We wanted an alternative for our old dog to be able to be in the front yard with us, but she tends to wander off. Since our deed restriction doesn't allow fences in front yards, this is a great way to do that. It was easy to set up after a rain storm. The charge stays for a long time and the shock does not hurt her. I like that it has two collars so we can always have one ready for her. She is in the yard with us as we relax.
👤Product worked well for me. I used a twisted wire to get my dogs to walk over it and a heavier wire to finish the last 100 ft. The supplied wire is thinner and cheaper than the ones I used. The fence is buried under 750 feet. At the side of my house and along the road, I created a loop in the shape of an L. The green light blinks when I turn the collars off. The red light blinks. It will be okay, but I saw it a little backwards.
👤So far, so good. It was very easy to setup. We have had it for a couple of weeks and it works great. The 95 lbs Labrabull won't go near the wood fence that he has been jumping on. He is breaking our fence. I love it!
👤It was very easy to install. I have been using for a week without any issues with my fence jumping pups. The wire has held up well for the price. I charge the collars after 3 days. When the dogs are let out periodically during the day, they are taken off when inside. I had a problem with the kit's adapter that was supposed to be used for both collars and the transmitter. After contacting the sellers, they offered a used kit to solve the problem and were quick to respond to messages. Customer service is the most helpful I've ever experienced. The used kit arrived today and is pictured. It has taken awhile, but it is definitely true.
Purchase additional wire to expand up to a 25-acre yard to create a custom walled yard for your best friend. For assisted procedures: The receiver collar has 4 levels of static correction that you can adjust based on how your dog responds during training. Great for hearing-impaired pets. If your best friend has a hard time hearing, the tone plus vibration mode will help him learn his new area and keep him out of harms way. Do it yourself installation. You can create a fence that fits your yard on this weekend project. The Stubborn Dog In-Ground Fence Receiver Collar is waterproof and can be adjusted to fit neck sizes 6-28 inch. For dogs 6 months and older. The PetSafe In-Ground Fence receiver collar will work with this fence system, you can purchase different style collars for every pet in the family. All your pets should be protected. If you have more than one pet, you should buy as many collars as you need.
👤If you enjoy being on hold while waiting to talk to someone, then buy this if you love having to make immediate trips to your local hardware store, spending Saturdays working on a project that you've already worked on and know that any results of your labor will likely be lost within a few I wasted a lot of time and money trying to make this system work, and I am so frustrated that I am not going to do anything else. There is a background. I grew up in the house we live in. An invisible fence was installed by a local company when we were young. It worked well for over 15 years. There were occasional breaks when we would dig a hole or aerate the yard. Those were easy to fix. No "partial break" issues. I can't find the collar from the old system when we get a dog. I decided to give it a try because buying a new collar was more expensive than the whole PetSafe system. It worked well for about 6 months, then we started having issues with the loop light going off. Sometimes it would turn back to normal by itself. I would turn off the power occasionally. It would work again. Sometimes I would have to plug in the "Break Locator" and after that it wouldn't work again, but only for a while. A new transmitter has been received. For a few months, I worked. Same issues as before. PetSafe told me that it must be a partial break again. There was no way to see any breaks because the wire was buried. PetSafe's break could not pick up any breaks. The signal was strong around the whole loop. I replaced the wire in our yard. I pulled up the old sections. We got a 3rd transmitter in January. The random beeping started last week. I came home and it was loud. I switched the power on/off for the first time. But again, it was beeped. The person on the phone with PetSafe still thinks it's a partial break. We haven't worked on the yard. I don't understand how a wire can break randomly in 3 months. It could be that the wire is wrapped too tight or not tight enough. Really? Why would it work for 3 months and then go out? I don't have anything left to deal with this. I'm looking for an alternative and would love a recommendation.
👤It worked well for the first week. Our dog ran and walked through it without being shocked. Everything was set up without a shock or a beep. It was too unreliable and disappointing.
👤Have a dog. Doesn't work with him. He doesn't care about the shock at level 5. He ignores it after it worked for 1/2 a day.
👤I bought this in June. The battery connections are not the same. The things should last more than 4 months with what they cost.
👤I paid $80 for a collar that didn't have a battery, but I haven't used it yet.
2 hours of charge provides about two weeks of battery life. Independent correction levels can be used on most dogs. Minimum of 34 feet in diamete or 17 feet in radius is needed to cover a circular area up to 1/3 of an acre. Multiple transmitters combined create a larger coverage area and can be installed within 15 minutes.
👤The fence is performing better than I anticipated. I live on 2.5 acres. Roughly 1.5 of it is wooded. I put one in the front of the house and one in the back to make a larger figure eight for the dogs. I assumed the wooded areas wouldn't work well, but they do! I'm not sure if it's as good of a signal as back in there, but it works into the woods. I would recommend this fence. A senior wirehaired pointinggriffon is set to beep only, but he is well aware of what the fence is all about. We have a 6 month old Am Staff/American Bulldog/Neo Mastiff mix set to Level 4 and she respects the fence as well. She stopped running when she started chasing one of our chickens. She stopped if she actually got to the boundary.
👤I wasn't sure if this would work, but I was pleasantly surprised. After moving the base around the house, we were able to find a spot that the dogs could run in, 45 feet up the street and to the backyard bushes. When placing the flags, it's not an exact science, but finding most spots correctly and then adding many flags in between to make a clear boundary worked well. The dogs were shocked twice when learning, but with continued walking on a leash towards the white flags, they quickly learned to stay away. I used a white oil-based pastel crayon to draw a white line because it was impossible to put flags in our driveway. They caught on. We charged the necklaces for our two dogs once, but have owned the product for a month and a half. Our quality of life has improved greatly. When the front door is open, the dogs run in and out without fear of running away.
👤There is an update! Don't buy it! My dog has been shocked at random. I was shocked when I picked the collar up. Amazon, please stop selling this product! If you have a steep incline, this product won't work. The collar unit is easy to charge, but it's difficult to put the plug in. I had a hard time hearing the beep when I was setting the boundaries. The instructions say to hold it at your dog's height, but I wouldn't be able to walk up and down the hill with my hand over my dog's head. The first time I was alone with my dog, he lost it. It's hard to find, wish it had a neon color so it could be seen. Maybe I could have found a remote control to make it sound better. I couldn't return it because I didn't have all the pieces, and I wouldn't spend another $150 for another collar unit. My two dog system is a one dog system because it is hard to switch the programming. My older schnauzer did better training than the one year old Australian did. The Aussie would get excited by something outside the boundary and then take off when she was shocked. The system doesn't seem to work on one side of the property, the Aussie figured it out right away. She can't get there because the boundary has been reduced. The reason I chose this system was because it would cover 1/3 of an acre and we are not able to get that much space because of the steep drop off. It is easy to reduce the boundary with the 16 different options and the dogs seem to like it.
The eXtreme Dog Fence MAX GRADE KIT covers up to 25 acres with the widest signal field possible. The wire can be run above ground or buried. Most other inground dog fence systems claim to be water resistant. The eXtreme Dog Fence Collar Receiver is waterproof to 10 feet. The Max Grade Fence Kit includes: 14 gauge-plus 60 mil wire, 16 gauge twisted wire, digital transmitter, collar receiver, training flags, and 10 staplers. The Underground Dog Fence comes with a 10 year warranty on the electronics and a lifetime warranty on the eXtreme Dog Fence Wire. This fence will protect your dog. They will guarantee it. The fence has been manufactured for more than 25 years and has a reputation for reliability and performance. The electric fence for dogs are made in the United States of America. They are standing by to help you set up your fence, train your dogs and puppies, or deal with any issue that comes up.
👤The COLLAR SUCKS are the most important part of this package. The most brittle plastic you will ever see is used to secure the prongs. The battery was almost dead before mine broke. The battery life isn't convenient and they don't sell replacements. You can get a replacement dog collar for $125. It comes with a new battery. The 2nd collar just took a dump on me, that's 2 in less than a year! My dog almost got eaten by someone else's yard. I'm going to get sued if I do. I followed all the instructions the second time. Double checked.
👤The Max Grade 1000 Ft system was installed. The system is nice, the cable is good, and it is all made in the USA. I was docked one star for the lack of directions in the box and the crappy power surge protector. For my complete review, keep reading. The Extreme Dog Fence Max Grade Ultimate came with 14 AWG fence wire with a 60 mil jacket, and 50 feet of 18 AWG twisted wire, which is fancy for saying it. The products shown in the picture were all free of defects. The box didn't have complete instructions on how to use the product. Thank goodness for the internet. The manufacturer's website has a nice "manual" with tons of info. It would be great to have that in the box. The box had a few pieces of paper that had spelling issues. They are lazy to proof read and from the USA. The collar I got was perfect. If you are buying a system, be sure you get the correct one, there are three different types and "Active" is the best for 86 percent of dogs. The wire I got was of great quality. The jacket was tough and free of defects. Great wire. The panel is small and easy to remove. If you look online or at their drawing, you can figure it out. If you use their surge protectors that come with the Ultimate system, there is no need for ground wire. One of the reasons I took away a gold star was because of the surge protectors. It is a joke compared to the rest of the product. They could have spent a bit more money to make this thing better. If anyone breaths on them, they will fall out, so be sure to use wire ties and other things to remove all pressure or you will find some wires out. These things are worse than bad, they want to leave rather than stay. The size of this unit is large for its own good. It is what it is. The collar has an electronic thingy. It is ok. It takes a 6v battery. If you want to buy another brand, don't do it because they will include documentation about how they make special ones for it, so you can jack the price up. Again, it is what it is, just know it. If you follow normal battery methods, the negative goes in first with the positive on the cap side, even though the collar is not marked. The battery is in the box. At least it isn't hard to figure out how to install. Either it works or it doesn't. Attach the battery negative side first with a flat head screwdriver. They will lose the other half of the gold star after you get everything hooked up, no instructions on how to program the collar. His system allows you to program an unlimited amount of collars for different pets. I can't weigh in on that because I haven't died yet, so I'm not sure if the battery retains this info if it dies. If you want to program a collar, you need to have the collar in hand and be next to the panel, choose your level and hit the button. It's possible that your collar ships with the highest shock level. I thought it would come on the radio, but who knows. It takes half a day. It depends on how long you run, the terrain you are going across, and how good of a job you want to do. It took me 7 hours a day. I used a shovel to burry 750 feet, so I could not use a machine. I knocked a hole in my foundation to get the twisted wire to my basement where I installed the panel and power. If I had just thrown the cable on the ground, it would have been a lot quicker, but I am so paranoid that things need to be right that I don't care. You know what's best for you. I am happy that this is over, but it works very well. Would I recommend this to a friend? I would like to see the manufacture correct their spelling errors on the few papers they give you and include the real manual rather than making people go online for it. The paper should say that you can go online to see the manual. Please, spend a few more pennies to give us a surge protector with real wire connections. The consumer is not directed at the supplier.
The dog fence bundle includes a collar for two pets. 500 feet of wire is included. For large or stubborn dogs, there are 5 levels of intense correction. Includes 2 waterproof receivers, 500 feet of wire, 50 boundary flags, and a DVD.
👤If you've never used a restraint system before, please understand that it's not a training system at all. It takes a few weeks of work to teach your dog to respect the boundaries you have set for them, but with a little work they will and you will want one at every house you live in the rest of your life. If you have a large yard, renting a large edger is a better option than burry the wire with an edger. The indoor equipment is easy to install and the instructions are concise. Remember that your dog will likely stay several feet back from the line so keep this in mind when placing. If you want to train your dog, lay out the warning flags and leash walk for a week, then pull them back with a verbal warning and give them lots of reinforcement when they come back to the yard. The idea is to convince the dog that there is danger out there and make them want to stay within the limits, show them love and praise for coming back close to the house. I like to do this without the collar on the dog, after a week or so, I will hold the collar in my hand and let them hear the warning beeps, then I call them back inside the line and give them praise. Depending on how well your dog learns the training, it can be a tedious process. It will take time but they will learn once you start having the dog wear the collar and they get shocked for the first time. After a few weeks the flags are taken down as the dog knows not to challenge the line. This system will work every time if you follow the directions, follow the training steps and take the time to read them. I have seen my dog staring at people and other dogs and he won't cross that line. This system has helped him define the limits of his territory, even when I forget to put the collar on, and that makes him happier.
👤Rented a commercial edger and it was easy to use. Without it, it would have been a pain. It made the process a little more difficult because of the brittle nature of wire. It is awesome. I let my dogs feel the shock a few times and they will not run at people anymore. I have a French mastiff and a Great Danes, both of which stay on level 2.
👤Finally! A solution to keep the crazy dogs out of the house. They were leaving quickly every day. It's so annoying. We installed this along the bottom rail of the fence and they are doing well. We ordered upgraded 14 gauge wire. I didn't pay attention to the fact that it said solid core. We got twisted but used it. Hopefully the line lasts and the animals don't chew on the places we buried it. The fence changed our lives. You might think it's cruel. They were put on 4 and set loose to learn the hard way. There is a fence already up. They went straight for the fence after we let them out. After jumping back a few feet, I lay on the deck and chilled out for the first time in a long time. We showed them that it was safe for most of the yard, even though they were hesitant to go out again. Don't approach the fence or POW! They learn quickly. The 2 year old opened the front door and ran through the shock zone without looking back. When they were caught, we walked them back quickly. They were instantly fine after minor yelping. They were only on level 3 for correction. 3 is enough to get the attention of a strong stubborn dog. I'm not sure 5 is enough for our mutts if there was no fence. They need training again. We are very happy so far, because all this fixed our issue.
There is no wire toBURY. A wireless boundary is a great way to protect your pets without the hassle of wires. The circular boundary range should be adjusted from the placement of the indoor transmitter. The display has a liquid display. The screen on which you can see how far your pet's play area expands has warning indicators to let you know if there is an error. There are 5 levels of correction. You can choose from 5 levels of static correction. If your pet crosses the boundary, static-free return allows your pet to return home. The redemption receiver is a redemption COLLAR. The wireless fence system has a waterproof receiver collar that fits dogs up to 5 lbs and adjusts to fit neck sizes 6-28. Set up your new wireless fence in 1-2 hours to give your dog a secure area. It's accessible. This portable fence can be taken with you when you go camping or travel in your RV.
👤Money and time are wasted. It was easy to setup. The dogs were adapted to the boundaries well. The inconsistent signal caused the receiver to shock our dogs for no reason. The wind would blow and shock them if they were within 10 feet of the transmitter. They would be shocked when they were laying in their kennel. It would shock them if they played in the yard on a sunny day. After trial and error, you have to call the helpline. I decided to return it. The idea of a wireless transmitter is great, but the manufacturer needs to up the signal game to make it more efficient.
👤The collar doesn't work. The old Petsafe device died when my dog was 12 years old. The device seemed easy to use, and my dog responded well to the initial sound. She was going beyond the boundary after 2 mos. I have turned off the unit and tried to pair it. The collar does not shock. I put my hand on it. I am out $300 because I didn't fill out the warranty or return the device before 30 days. I am angry. Unless someone makes this right, I will have to rethink my purchases on Amazon.
👤I was surprised by the negative reviews on this product. We have been using it for 2 years and love it. We live in Alaska and many of our friends have bought the same unit so we can bring our dogs to each other's houses without the problem of all the dogs running off in the woods. Sometimes we had as many as 8 dogs using the unit at once. Our dog is not a runner now that we have this unit. We walked him around the flagged property to show him where he could go. When we let him go, he bolted but never again. After moving from one part of Alaska to another, we plugged the unit into our truck and let him out in a parking lot. He knows he's getting too far when he hears the beep. The unit is large. We brought it to friends houses, plugged it in, and let him run free, we also brought it to a bar and let him run free. After so many months of using our new home, he knows his boundaries and sometimes he goes out without his collar. The first unit stopped working after a year. We called customer service, and a second one was sent. It was hard to get free shipping, but living in an area where the dog could get caught in traps made it hard. I was able to talk them into it. I highly recommend this unit. It has changed our dog's life. He is happy without a leash. It's free! He won't walk out of his boundaries without me, so I say "stay close" when I am walking him out of his area. You have to remember to turn it off when you ride in a car.
For US market only. The portable wireless transmitter has no wires. You can create a circular perimeter of up to 1/3 of an acre. The collar is designed for comfort and charges in 2 to 3 hours. There are 5 levels of static correction and a tone-only mode for training dogs over 5 pounds. There are three collars and a flag.
👤The system is working well for our pets. My 12 year old trained them according to the book. They had a fence their entire lives. They were able to adapt well to this. After adjusting for the pain, my dog no longer does this. It's a circle only and probably wouldn't be used on a small yard. It worked well because we have just under 2 acres. You can only change the circle to be larger or smaller. We moved the circle further from where we needed it. I would love to have an app that would let me know where the dogs are. An app would've fixed this because it was annoying to bend down for a large circle to put flags out. You have to figure that out and adjust. I'm very impressed with the cost savings from underground and how well it works. I would buy it again if it was mobile.
👤The wired system is for metal roofs. The Transmitter died after two weeks. The metal roof is not compatible with the transmitter.
👤I bought two systems, one for front and the other for the back yard. The front was added as recommended because the back yard was limited. My dogs were confused by them. I have to pull them out of the tether. Not good at all.
👤Three dogs are on this system. It took about a week for them to get used to the perimeter. If you have smaller dogs, keep the power turned down. Love it. If the power goes off for any reason, the dogs will get shocked, and that's the only issue I have found. I let the dogs in the house during the storm.
👤I had an underground fence system at a previous home. The cost of keeping my dogs in the yard has gone up so I looked for a more affordable product. One correction is all it took. I live on the top of a hill and have a crazy yard with a pool, metal Carport, and a hill with drop offs, and the unit works perfectly. The charge is likely to last three weeks. It takes no time to get back to business. I need small investment to keep my babies safe.
👤The underground wire fence was difficult to install for two years. The dogs have responded well to the fresh air and it is such a breath of fresh air. When we take the camper into the woods, we can take this with us. There are no chains or tie downs to drag around.
👤The product is not working in my home. I have moved it three times. There is an inference with the 3 collars. They all receive the signal in different places. If it was only a few feet, it wouldn't be a problem. I have a difference in the placement of the flags. The company tells me that the transmitter is at least 5 feet away from any metal. The brochure says it needs to be 3 feet. This cost me $600 and I am at a loss. I can't leave the transmitter outside in the elements because it works great when it's outside. It is probably too late for a refund for me. I still have to check. I've spent a lot of time trying to get it to work. I had the transmitter replaced once. The product information doesn't make clear that small household items that have a little metal will interfere with the transmission. I'm not sure if it's the problem since it's not near any metal. I should have invested in a chain link fence because it has been a huge hassle.
