👤The only thing that could be done was to stop the display from going dark. The rest is good. At half the price, it's left Garmin in the dust.
👤I bought this as a gift for my father in law for Christmas and thought it would be a simple interactive device. I was not impressed when I took it out of the box. This device does not have the maps installed on the unit ready to use, which is different than almost all other units I have used. If you're lucky, you can install the map yourself using the application file from the factory. If you are like me, you would have to contact the seller to get a link to download the map file from a website that looks suspicious. I decided that it was too much work to use aGPS unit that was plug-n-play, especially in today's world, after having to figure out how to find my map. I will never buy from this seller again because this unit is being returned as I type this review.
👤The address on Annapolis Road in Odenton, Maryland, gave me directions to a place in Maryland. This is not what you would expect from a navigation system.
👤The 7" screen makes it easy to use the navigation on the device. One of the best features is the voice notification that will let you know if you have exceeded the speed limit.
👤I returned it because it stopped working after I got lost.
👤You have to download a map from a company in China to get it. This device was rendered useless because I was unable to get an answer from them. I am waiting for my return to be processed.
👤I use it to visit my son. I am not familiar with the city I'm in. The gps doesn't tell you where to go. The gps tells me to turn left even when I arrive on the same street. I go to the airport to pick up my other son. I exit too early. I tell you to go back to your home. I end up an hour late. The interface of the gps is not as good as the one I use on my cell phone.
👤Aroa gps screen is larger and clear, which is very convenient to operate, and includes whole north American area maps to 2021.
The large, easy-to-read 7” touchscreen has a bright, crisp, high-resolution display. You can get a custom truck route based on the size and weight of your truck, and you can see upcoming bridge heights, sharp curves and more. You can view parking information along your route. You can use the Preloaded Truck & Trailer Services directory to find truck stops. Load-to-dock guidance shows potential loading zones or storage lots when approaching your destination. See popular routes used by fellow drivers. You can use the voice assistant to talk to the navigator while keeping your hands on the wheel. If you want to use the ELD for hours of service recording, you need to pair the eLog with the app on your phone or tablet. 👤This thing is a quality piece of hardware. It's durable, functional, boots up quickly and works well, unlike some gps units I've had. garmin's maps suck. This thing assures me that my maps are current and up-to-date, but they make mistakes all the time. It tries to send me to closed roads that no longer exist. The biggest flaw with this unit is that it doesn't have a "detour" button like previous garmin gps units. If it wants you to take a road that's closed for roadwork, it's as stubborn as a horse's ass, and will not change its mind. The only way to re-route is to manually enter a different route. garmin, bring back the detour button. It's better than not having a gps at all, but it still has some major flaws that will annoy you.
👤I own a lot of cars. I tried it for a week next to my maps and was not happy with the gps. Without the phone app it won't show traffic. When I received a phone call I didn't like the idea of connecting to my phone, it switched from my phone to the gps. That was making me nervous. I like to deal with maps on the internet for $400. It would be perfect if the bridge heights were known by the maps.
👤I took a few to get used to it. I like the fact that I don't need to hook up to a computer and go through a bunch of steps to update. I have been using for a month and it has been great. Don't leave your gps plugged in all the time, that's a tip I learned from the last one. You will shorten the life span of the battery by burning it up.
👤Can't find addresses on the screen.
👤The best gps I have had. It definitely could use improvement. It doesn't connect to a car, RV, or truck's stereo system to allow the sound of directions to be heard through the speaker system. Once you have downloaded the Garmin Drive app, you can use all of the features on it. The gps doesn't have an auxillary plug area. Sometimes it's hard to hear directions when driving. It's definitely better than my previous units. I would give it 4 stars if it was possible to play directions through the speakers.
👤The product was easy to setup. Sell asked about the item the same day. The service is top notch. Will buy from them again with hesitation.
👤Awesome! I needed a 7” screen. Can not go wrong.
👤I am happy with the device so far. It looks good and he is doing a good job. There is a job.
👤If I want to use this garmin, I have to plug it in all the time, and I don't think I'll buy any electronics from Amazon in the future.
The sixth-generation TND truck is called the TND 750. There is a new design inside and out.
👤The gps is garbage. I'm returning it and going back to where I came from. The screen is so small that you can't see the icons or mileage in a glance. It can't say "speed warning", but it can say "peeed warning" and "beep warning". The route is terrible. It wants to make you do a U turn and go back, even though avoid U turns is activated. The 2.0 format is a big swing and miss.
👤After my 740 stopped holding a charge, I purchased the TND 750 on Amazon. I use the gps for two years and I like the motor carrier references on the screen. I rely on my gps and atlas to follow my routes. I assumed the 750 was the updated version and that the charging issues of the 740 had been solved by Rand McNally. No, no, no! The 750 lasted me for a day. It wouldn't charge at all, and I tried different cables and the plug provided in the package. It wouldn't work while plugged in, just kept flashing low battery and shutting off. I had to pay $425.00 for a 740 at the truck stop. I will be returning the junk to Amazon for a refund. Amazon's return policy is very easy to use. Stay away from the 750. JUNK!
👤I am running my 740 next to Gps so I can follow the trails that I have saved because I could not transfer my trail and address book because the 740 says the files are corrupted. My last two 740s were great, but only last 15 months before they stop working. The paper road atlas is a waste of money, and it should be returned to the TND730.
👤I wish I'd checked the reviews before buying it. I had a great little unit, the TND520, for 7 years before it started to get beat up. I thought it was time to retire. I said it was a piece of shit, so let's get the all new bigger model. The battery won't hold a charge, can barely hear the volume when it's talking. The first one I got was replaced by Amazon, but the second one had the same problems. I will not be buying R MCN again.
👤The hardware is still better than the previous model, but I don't trust it more. Routes on alternates are less than satisfactory. I have not run into any problems like others have. It is supposed to be an updated version of the 740. The magnet is a lot better than they said. I don't see it falling even if I hit it. I have been doing this differently and not leaving plugged in the entire time. I had to plug it back in after 7 hours. I still have my car. It is at the end of its life with the battery. I want to test the new one before I start running them. The 750 is more accurate than the 740. Since I don't want to use it's delay feature, I have had to adjust mentally with travels time a bit more. The navigation screen is the same. Unless I want to check for an update, I don't keep it connected to the internet. I have no idea about those features.

If you would like to update the latest map, please contact them, they can connect OHREXGPS Navigator to the Windows PC or use an external card, if the system is not compatible with Mac. 👤It's functional for what it's worth.
👤The touch screen worked well, but it wasn't good.
Free map updates and live traffic are included with the truck navigator. Alert for upcoming bridge heights and weight limits, plus a custom truck route for the size and weight of your truck. There is an easy break plan with notifications for breaks and road signs to suggest nearby restaurants. Truck stops by brand and amenities are included in the truck and trailer services directory.
👤This is a device that is designed for trucks. I use it in my car and frequently rent trucks. You can still use this model if you never drive a truck. When you start it, it asks which vehicle you are using it for. The start-up process is immediately happening. There could be a wait until it's ready to go. The key thing that makes this gps superior is that it knows how tall your truck is once you set it up. You can input the truck's weight and width. This is important when driving your truck into unknown territory, as the Garmin knows which overpasses you can't fit under. You don't want to follow the unit blindly if it's wrong about the height, so keep reading the clearance height signs. Lifetime map updates are free with this model.
👤I use a gps device for trucking. It is easy to use and accurate. The weather radar keeps me informed. It is nice to know that there is a scale ahead. There are rest areas, truck parking, fuel stops and more. The unit I bought was brand new. It took 4 hours to update from the internet. I got a 3 year trade in plan for 14 so I know if the unit fails. So far, it's been good, 5000+ miles and makes life less tiring.
👤The product is no longer working. It won't go on and it's fully charged. The return window is closed. Is there anything I can do to get a return on this product? We only had it for 5 months.
👤A winner. It took 5 seconds to get satellites out of the box. The longest was 20 seconds. The screen is easy to read in the sun. The auto-zoom can be turned off. You can use 2D or 3D. You can either see upcoming services or not on the map. I don't like the blue squares on the map because they cover up a lot of the map. When you tap your car icon in the center of the map, you will see a screen with information about your location, and on the right side, you can choose services such as gas, restaurants, or hospitals, and once you tap one, it will take you there. The left and right boxes show information, but the right one can be set to show freeway mile markers, estimated time of arrival, or elevation. I was surprised to see the mile markers on major US highways, like US 84 and US 231 here in Alabama. The map can be set for sparse, medium, or busy, and can have always-North orientation or turn with the vehicle. There is a small scale indicator that shows you how far away you are from the map. The green top ribbon on the display shows upcoming cross-streets and warnings for drops in speed limit, school zones, railroad crossing and sharp curves ahead. It warns on the red light cameras when you are on the freeway and the camera is on the street below, a bit of a startle to the first time I saw that. The unit has no lag. You can see the display at 30 mph, but you have to go past a cross street. It takes 2 seconds for the gps to show that the railroad crossing has passed. The icon can be set to different graphics. I chose the blue one. There is an arrowhead. It has a red tip on one of the rear fins, giving me the impression that this is the direction in which we are headed. You can't change the color of the triangle. There are trucks and vans. In my neighborhood there has been a lot of recent building and new roads, but the maps are up to date. Updating the map is easy if you take the unit out of the box. Plug the unit into the dash holder and then download garminexpress.exe, which will do all the rest for you. The update might take three hours, but mine took 15 minutes. When the power is on, the unit comes on automatically. The mount allows the unit to be pointed in any direction you want. There are no flimsy plastic parts that are just waiting to break. The 5-inch screen is large for me. An excellent unit with lots of ways to personalize. I haven't tried voice recognition.
There are maps of North America and free lifetime map updates on the Truck navigation device. Alert for upcoming Bridge heights, weight limits, and custom truck route for the size and weight of your truck. Current fuel prices, weather conditions, and crowdsourced and rated POIs are provided by Sophisticated Connected Services. New mileage and fuel logs are included in the enhanced driver tools. A Dash cam with loop recording and integrated G-force sensor. Usb cable was included. The camera has a video. The technology of wireless communication.
👤They didn't do any testing on this piece of junk. The map tells you to go one direction while the voice guidance tells you to go another. I was trying to get onto I55 N in West Memphis when it tried to get me to go left into oncoming traffic instead of taking the ramp on the right. When you are on the interstate, it shows you taking exits when you aren't, and it has to change the route when it learns you are still on the interstate. Even though most were useless, the TND740 always had an alternate route. This thing is a step backwards from the 740 except for the magnet mount, it hasn't fallen off once. I hope they put out an update soon.
👤I have used the gps for a month and it is more than enough. I like the new interface and graphics, but I don't like the fact that it takes more than 2 clicks to get what I need. I love how this is supposed to be a gps for truck drivers but it cares more for cars and RVs than I do. I don't know why they don't ask for driver input on how to better set up the interface, but I recommend the 740 because it's the only one that has everything on the main map. Don't buy this for the dash camera, it's terrible. Invest in a dash cam. Good luck getting anything usable out of the camera after the sun goes down because the quality is subpar. I got a video with my headlights barely visible. The aspect of the tablet is fine if you want to use it how you would on a computer. The dam mountings systems A+ on that interface were fixed. The interface for cars. The B interface is used for RVs. A dash cam. Buy at your own expense.
👤Totally disappointed. There are no current updates for the tnd80 that I have had. I ordered a new tnd. After charging, I registered it right out of the box. I did the update and went on to setup, but it froze up. It started working again after 20 minutes. I went to navigation and it crashed after 3-4 minutes. It crashed before I could get to a destination after 20 minutes. This went on and on. I plugged in the charge and tried it, but it crashed in less than 10 miles after I got an address. I had a heated discussion with a tech after I called, and I am sending the unit back for a full refund. I don't recommend this gps to anyone.
👤The first brick was expensive. It won't turn on if you unbox it. The second one does not do as well as the first one. The directions keep telling me to exit and reenter the interstates. There is a The tablets freeze up constantly. The tablet can't find alternate routes to save its life. I used 35 because I didn't want to take highway 77 in West Virginia.

👤It is large and easy to use, as you can see from the photos, it is around the size of my hand. More like a computer than a navigation device. Everything you can think of. There are games, radios, pictures, videos, and Sat Nav. I am very impressed by the price. The screen display is clear and never gets any trouble from the sun, even though the video might not do it justice. The gps navigation is very fast at loading.
👤Over the years, I've owned a lot of gps units. This is the best unit I have ever owned. The voice command feature can change the game. When you cross the centerline, the driver assist features alert you. This unit is great.
👤This project is disappointing to me. It's not learning routes very well. The most confusing way to get to my destinations is the most direct route. The large screen makes it easy to see on this product.
👤There was no paperwork in the package that I received the gps. I wanted to return the product but didn't have an address. Contacted Amazon, but they were unresponsive. What can I do?
👤Most cars will have a difficult time with this unit unless it is somewhere other than the windshield. Even though car is in the title, I think this unit is designed for larger vehicles. You may be looking for one for an RV as well. The unit is accurate and packed with features. Go through the settings before you go on your first trip to make sure you get the best use for your situation. This unit is a steal for drivers of trucks or RV's. I've used it in my car as a passenger side mount, like a police officer would have their computer. I drove by the voice commands. This can be in a better location if you are in a semi or RV. The speed limit alert is very accurate. It has games and media player capabilities for down time. The unit is a great price.
👤This gps is very good. I like it. The only problem I had was that the sticky didn't stick. Constantly falling. Didn't have any kind of glue. I usually don't put it on a window, but this time I had to. I had to glue the stand to the dashboard.
👤I thought I was buying a navigation device. I blame Amazon for this since I searched for it. My comparison is with my other unit. It takes forever to find the address and start directions for this brand. I can't read the street names because the screen size is too small. I don't like having to enter the city and then the street. If I prefer nuimer than street, I can travel from the correct city. I should have bought a device from the factory outlet. I kept this one because my daughter thought it was acceptable. The unit is cheaper at the store.
👤The display is clear and easy to use. The navigation is difficult. I entered searches for places like the Grand Tetons, but they were not found. It has to be returned because it doesn't support Map updates from the MAC. There isn't a detailed manual to find online, and the limited instructions it comes with indicates to work your support questions through Amazon. I need something that is easier to use and supports me.

👤Get it, over the road trucker review. It is affordable and does everything the expensive gps does. I have owned this gps for about 2 months and it has not let me down. It tells you how fast you are going, how far from the next waypoint you are, and the time of arrival. Time zones are adjusted from Satelite. It is not worth paying $400 for a gps when you can buy a better one. It is good to know that if I do update it will be free. Just buy it! You can beat it for $70 bucks. 2 months owner!
👤I have been using the gps for two weeks. It was worth the money spent. I use it in my semi and it has taken me where I need to be. Great purchase.
👤I replaced my old gps with a big screen one and it works great! Offline maps help in a rural area but nothing compares to having a real gps device. I put the screen in the corner of the car because it doesn't interfere with driving and because it doesn't take up a lot of space in the window. There are so many options for navigation on the touchscreen that it is very sensitive. This size is better than the 5. Audio is clear and can focus on the road. It was a great GOS for the price and definitely recommend it.
👤This gps is not worth anything. The routes are so old that they are unreliable and trying to update the maps is a joke. The clock is not set to the correct time. The device turns itself off after 20 minutes of use. The cheap plastic sun visor is a joke, it doesn't fit together properly, and it snaps when you try to attack it with the gps. The money was wasted.
👤I had to use a magnifying glass to see the print and icons because the instructions for setup were poor. Adding to Favorite addresses was very confusing and I was only able to input two addresses with no names.
👤The product is inferior compared to the other products. Poor mapping doesn't allow high number addresses. I was impressed with the looks but not worth the money. I bought a new one after I sent my old one back.
👤I thought I should try it closer to home after purchasing this for a future trip. The cup wouldn't fit on my dashboard or the front window. I used an aftermarket holder. I was about halfway to my destination when it stopped. It won't turn back on after I messed with it. I should have given the money to charity.
👤I bought a gps for a trip to visit relatives. I'm not very tech savvy and it was hard to find alternative directions when I inputed my out-of-state address locations. My 35 year old tech savvy son had issues. If you have a map route to follow, the gps adjusts nicely to route changes along the way. Common sense tells you which way to go when you pull off the road for gas or a rest area, even though the gps only indicated the wrong direction in a couple of minor spots. I like the fact that it confirmed the road you were on, as the road signs were often not posted. It advises you of the correct speed limit. I plan to input the next address after I reach the destination, as it seems to pick up the town or route location on the gps just fine. The sun visor was too small. I would recommend this device.
The car audio which builds in high quality stereo audio allows easier access to high fidelity audio. Support rear view camera and gps navigation. This is a manual pull out and pull back screen radio and it doesn't have a CD DVD player. You can answer calls, be hands-free with no distraction, and play and control your music and apps with the built-in bluetooth, which makes phone calls safer and practical than ever. The screen of your phone can be mirrored on the unit's screen with the help of the mirror link function. Support radio stations play, Full digital electronic control search radio stations, high- performance digital tuning radio automatically scans 18 stations memory. The free 8 IR rear view camera has a stronger night vision effect, waterproof, and 170 angle of the lens, which makes it a good choice for people who want a broader field of vision in the vision in the process of reversing. The AUX audio input interface can be used to add mp3s, gps, mobile phones, music players, and other audio input, as well as support mirror link for smart phone. Please know that some phones may not charge. The AUX audio input interface can be used to add mp3s, gps, mobile phones, music players, and other audio input, as well as support mirror link for smart phone. Please know that some phones may not charge.
👤The product made an electrical fire when I installed it. I thought it was going well for a while. I was driving my truck last week. I smelled smoke coming from my dashboard. One of the wires burned off and melted some of the other wires. I would rate it all zero stars. Don't buy this harness. The radio works well for the price, but I would suggest a different harness.
👤The camera function stopped working after 45 days, and it takes 40 minutes for the radio to stop the static noise. You need an app on your phone to use the mirror app, and it doesn't work at all. Save money on this one. I would give no stars at all.
👤The unit was received yesterday. Please refer to my photo if you need clarification on wiring. There are actual labels and colors of the wiring harness in the instruction manual. 1. What is the connection between the Orange/Black wire and the reverse direction? 2. What is the connection between the Pink and the parking sensor control wires? Techsupport sent a manual with a different wire harness than the one in my photo because of questions and emails about what wire Pink or Orange/Black was. Only the orange and black wire worked, not the pink, when playing with the backup after the pre-installation testing. Now I can do full installation. The review was changed from 1 to 3 stars. After installation and full testing, I'll edit my review again. The gps map is not user friendly for mapping out a road trip. There is no use of playlists or iTunes.m4a extensions. I had to remove the mounting brackets and turn the camera upside down to get the same view as my side and rear mirror views. I found it useful to have an external switch that would control the backup camera so I could see traffic without being in reverse. I'll reexamine my review when I go to the Colorado mountains in the summer. What do I need to do to fix the Usb music just displays null? Look it up and the first response. The unit you purchased does not support the display for music folder/album/ info. The problem was caused again. Please contact us if you have any other concerns. I don't think I'll change my review.
👤Sometimes the volume works, sometimes it doesn't. My second one was a 100 loss because I had to hit buttons nine times to change the revere view camera.
👤The screen won't let you help. They replaced the stereo. All good value.
👤I can't let you buy this after all the work I did to get this right. After I had it for a few days, my initial review was done. I have had time to use it and figure it out. Good stuff. The device plays music. 2. Radio works. 3. The navigation displays a map. 4. The phone works. 5. The phone is slow to answer calls after pressing the talk button. This isn't one of the ones that can be downloaded, because the map is outdated and the downloads are limited to registered devices. 2. There is no place to get an updated firmware for the mirror link. I wanted to use other apps through it. 3. It's likely that the music info is not displayed. 4. After pressing the talk button, the phone is slow to answer calls. There is a delay of 3-4 seconds. I have had it for a while so I want to trade it in. I will probably break into it to figure out the chipset and force a firmware update and then figure out how to get a current map by using one of the other registered devices. The device is listed as some other device type in the map contents. Other vendors sell the same radio with links to their instructions for their devices on getting maps. It ended up with 2 stars because it works. If you want a hassle free radio, this isn't it. Older review. This went into a Jeep Cherokee. I may need to get a screen that goes down instead of the pull out screen if you don't have enough space above the radio. The 2000 Cherokee has a vent above it. I will live with it for now. It's an awesome radio and the pull out monitor breathed life into my old Jeep, it looks cool. The gps navigation works well and the interaction with the phone was good. The camera worked well, it involved tearing up the brake light wiring. I was expecting the screen to come out with a push of a button. I had to manually pull it out. The screen has a notch to grab on to. Overall happy with the product so far. There is no music info from the device.
CUBE will ring if you press find and use the app to show last known location on a map. If you leave something behind, there is a separation alarm. 👤I dislike this device. Disappointed with the navigation. 1. The designated Class truck routes are not shown. 2. It doesn't show the bridge heights. I need these two items in my gps device. The information is on my maps. The reviews of the gps manufacturers were not as good as the reviews of the other manufacturers, and I believe that the information and technology is not available with any gps manufacturers. The database will be very successful if a product is created with it. The fit and finish is what I like. Thank you, but you are disappointed.
👤The features are great, the display is great, and the main part is great. The navigation on garmins is terrible. It will usually bring you a longer way even with the shortest route applied. In truck mode, even with the size of the vehicle entered, it brings you down a lot of dead end roads. There is no need to purchase a separate unit for the better maps. This may be the case in Maine and New Hampshire, but not in other states.
👤The gps works well. I like that you can set it up for doubles and triples, I also like that it works better with my phone, and that it's easy to use with my phone. So far, it is very accurate.
👤This is a good tool for drivers. I was going to be delayed by 2 hours in Idaho due to construction. I was routed around it. It will warn you about accidents, construction, objects in the road, and other things that have been reported to it. The speed limits in Montana are not correct. It shows 70mph for back highways and 65 for freeways, but it has a state border off by about 4 miles. It needs some map updates. It will show you the weather in your route. A gps is not a rule. Use common sense and always read highway signs.
👤I would like to see a version of the maps for commercial trucks. The only way I could use a gps device was with my phone. The product does not recognize new roads or buildings. There is nothing in the new warehouses according to Garmin. That's where the maps come in. In Phoenix AZ, a new stretch of loop 202 going south is open since December, but not for Garmin. I wanted to get on I55 North from Damen Ave but my new $300 gps said "No trucks", which is not true. The navigation system should be less than $75. It is important for Garmin to keep its maps up to date. I spent $300 and updated my maps to be able to find a warehouse that was built more than a year ago. I'm planning to return the gps because it's not very accurate. I'll check out a Rand Mcnally, hopefully it's better than the other one.
👤This gps has gotten me in trouble with taking me down places. If I worked days I would be screwed at times from using this gps sent me down roads with cars parked on both side in residential areas.
It's easy to use a gps navigator. The maps are easy to see. alternate routes are suggested by the traffic company. Yes, the backup camera is compatible with BC 30 or BC 40. Voice activated and ability to pair with a compatible phone. Notable historic sites and the U.S national parks directory are part of the HISTORY network. Without a computer, built in wi-fi for map and software updates.
👤I used a cellphone as my primary navigation tool and purchased the DriveSmart 65. The cellphone navigation systems are great, but I didn't like the convenience of the stand-alone units. I didn't like the fact that the navigation apps weren't easy to see when I manually used the phone for a phone call. There are two more Unless you use a different app or download offline maps from the internet, there's no navigation when you don't have cellular coverage. There are 3 more I never found the offline maps to work for me, there was always a problem with resolution that I could not resolve. Offline mode was not always used to work in general. I tried some of the other free offline navigation apps, but they seemed to be behind in updates, and did not seem refined, leaving me with a slight but ever present apprehension in my mind. I didn't like the small screen size when in portrait mode, even though I had an iPhone Plus. There are five The navigation app on my cellphone ran in the background and was not visible to view. I didn't see all of the trip info functions that the vehicle navigators offered. The app navigators had the same trip info, but it was hard to see. The DriveSmart 65 was more expensive than the 55, but the extras screen real estate was worth a few extra dollars for me. It is hardware. The screen is beautiful! Great resolution and bright colors. The brightness is turned up all the way. The 6.9 inch is the perfect size for me since I like to have all of the trip data functions showing on the screen at all times while allowing for ample space for the map/ navigation which is the most important part. The screen seems to be made of glass, but I am not sure if it is scratch resistant. The frame has a minimal amount of bezel which adds to visual appeal but makes accidental touches easy when trying to adjust the postition/angle of the unit on the mount. The screen is responsive to touch and there is little lag navigating through the menus, as it should be for a device at this price point. The speaker is loud and clear. I don't know what processor is in the unit, but I hope it is an upgrade from last year's model. It is smart to get the best hardware within your means, especially if you plan on keeping the device for several years, to ensure it will be able to effectively run the software updates. I don't like the way the power cord plugs into the back of the device. It would be great if it was plugged into the side or bottom, because it would be easier to mount the device on a desk if the power cord was not sticking out. The mount is standard and works well for mounting on a window, but I have seen it fall off of a vehicle. I bought a friction dash mount from Garmin because it seems to work well for now. I can't state my findings because I haven't had the battery disconnected from a power source for that long. It is very easy to use the software. It seems that the years of production have allowed time for most bugs to be worked out. The high detail map option provides a lot of detail and is helpful in keeping the user oriented from a geographical perspective. When you zoom out with the intent to use it indefinitely, the unit will automatically zoom you back in to the default setting, even though it does not really want you to have full reign on the map. You can have phone notifications for email/text/etc to show on the unit if you sync your phone to it. The option to make and receive phone calls when you sync the device to your phone is available for those that may need it. The unit has the ability to update maps without a computer. After attempting to update the maps 4 times, I got error code each time and the device aborted the process. Maybe it is because my internet connection is not high-speed. It will be great to see if there is a similar issue among other people. The maps will have to be updated with a PC. Conclusions: The device performs well as expected. Excellent native route planning and accurate navigation. The screen is bright and high resolution. It's right in the sweet spot. I am not convinced that the features this unit offers are practical enough to justify the higher price. If the processor is better than last year's model, this is a good value. It was a factual decision. I don't have to use my phone as my main navigation when I have a stand-alone navigator. Happy with the purchase, even though I mentioned some things. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a navigator.
