👤This device is used. I didn't know what to think when I ordered it, but once I got it, I was ready to use it. I plugged it into my computer and it said that it needed software updates and map updates that would take 3 hours to complete. I tried to run the updates multiple times but they would freeze up in about 20 minutes. I took a look at the device to make sure it was up to date. The home map of the device was not easy to change. I returned it because of the software/map update freezing. The seller,CTGINC, told me that they found it to be working well and that they would not charge me a restocking fee.
👤The package arrived on time. I tried to download updates, but they froze up. I tried four times, but they could not help me.
👤Can't tell if it's new or refurbished. It worked out fine. It was fully charged. It was updated quickly. I copied all my contacts when I was on my phone. I didn't have to put my destinations in manually because I loaded all my saved destinations from my RV's backup. I wouldn't load destinations from my older nuvi series. All my others show elevation, but not in a sub menu. My older nuvi 2555 did not have a weather radar. There aren't many buttons on the map screen. Everything but back and zoom requires two presses. Go to the menu first and then press un-mute. It's a pain when in traffic. Tell it to shut up or turn it on. The larger screen is nice.
👤The unit worked well and had no problems. The old style ends of theusb cables do not fit the gps Micro ends are needed on both ends. I told the seller that I would not have to send the gps because I already sent the 2 cables back. He wanted pictures and I wanted him to send a return label. Never heard from him again. The rating was 1 star seller. The gps is 5 stars. You will need to purchase a power cord in order to receive traffic updates. I have one. It was around $60 dollars. Should have sent it back to Amazon. I liked the way the gps worked. I only recommend the product. The return was started because the seller wouldn't replace the wrong cable. The seller is not even rated after the cancellation of the return. Dmd.
👤This is my most important companion because I make several road trips every year. It makes it easy to find destinations. It's helpful to know about potential traffic problems and detours. It is easy to use. I have a road atlas with me, as I am old school. Sometimes you need to use common sense and check your destination on a map. I highly recommend this to anyone who travels by car. It helps to find places you don't know about.
👤The big screen is like that. In route mode, the street name is not given before you make a right or left turn. Just turn right - turn left. The street name is displayed at the top of the screen. My others don't have that problem. They mention the street name before turning. Still like the unit.
The SiRF V is an industry. The operating temperature is -40 +85 degree C. TheProlificPL2343 is a Linux, Windows, and a chromebook compatible device. The 1.5m cable is water proof and has a magnet built in. 9600 baud is made in Taiwan. 9600 baud is made in Taiwan.
👤It is small and magnetic. It should be a good thing that it is powered by theusb and doesn't require batteries. I tried 6 programs and this device was not compatible with them. I have a PC that is up to date. The driver and website that were included in the directions on this device were worthless. The driver didn't do anything because the gps viewer link was broken. Fortunately, windows 10 was able to recognize the device, but you had to make sure that you specified the right COM port for your mapping program. It's possible that it'sGPS and GLONASS capable. I was only able to get it to work in TopoFusion, using 9600 baud rate. There was no way to know how many satellites I was connected to. The device wouldn't connect to any satellites unless I set the gps on the window sill. Most PC programs are designed to receive signals from a serial port. You need a range of programs depending on the situation because no single program does everything you want. I don't know why this device doesn't work across the board, in theory it should be able to be compatible with several programs using the generic NMEAGPS base protocol. I can tell you that the instructions are worthless. I worked on this for hours. It won't work on an ICOM-7100 with a female mini-usb. If it is not compatible with a range of popular programs, this device will be useless. I wanted this to work because I like the form and magnet, but I do not recommend this product, and I am returning the 2 that I bought.
👤The review is only for initial impressions. I only had the device for a short time. I will have a long term review later on. I have used many cheaper gps devices and this one seems better. I used a gps device. Couldn't be any harder to use. It took me 20 minutes to write the code. No need for bad drivers. You can just read the ttyUSBN and read the output. Looks to be of good quality. There is a model that may offer 5 updates per second. If you need higher frequencies, consider it. It is more than enough for me.
👤L liked the fact that the gps was sensitive indoors. While inside my house, I am able to simultaneously sync up and lock into 11-13 satellites. My use for this device is to make sure my computer clock is always on. Couldn't be happier and have recommended this device to 3 friends.
👤Satellite reception is much better than the previous receiver.
👤It is easy to use and install.
👤I converted my tablets to a giant gps that's really cool. Good product and easy to install.
A built-in gps patch antenna. A built-in roof mount Magnet. 48 channels of all-in-view tracking SiRF Star IV is a gps device.
👤The NMEAGPS Receiver is used for applications. Does not provide location services to Windows. It was weatherized to handle all but submersion. It can be attached to many surfaces without damage. The body panels of a car are included. complies with the standards of the NMEA. The interface is a standardusb-to-serial The COM4 settings are used by the NMEA interface. There is no support for Windows location services. The device is an NMEA device. It will work in any location that works with NMEA, but no modern Windows applications. It is only IPX6 rated, meaning it is not truly waterproof. It can handle a lot of rain. Only one location update per second. This is not a 5hertz version. There's a software package that will connect to an NMEA device and create a Windows Sensor for use with location services. This is a software solution for the hardware manufacturer's lack of native software. There are some bugs. It works. The package in question is calledGPSdirect. My only problems are with the software. I know the device complies with the standards it claims to support. There are newer standards in 2015.
👤They started giving me times in 1905 after using these for a while. I get the correct date when I boot up. The receiver no longer responds and sends data after I tried to go back to the script I wrote. Until the date changes, it works well with gpsd. It works well, other than producing data that is useless. I'm not sure if we're talking about the same device. The one I have connects to a port at a rate of 5000 baud. A driver is needed to read serial data. Any application can read the data once the driver is installed, I wrote a Python script that opens the device and reads the "sentences". The first consideration is that the initial read could be a bit long. The reader has to sync with the stream, which is not difficult considering the second consideration, which is each sentence is terminated with two newline characters. When you get a full line that starts with a '$', you sync by reading. I can read the data from the receiver using "cat". The heading sentence is not generated by the receiver. The antennae is bulky, but magnetic.
👤This is my 3rd one. I use them on Windows 10 64 bit machines to do the time setting for some applications that I run. The mini-disk that comes with the puck has a utility. Your windows time is dead on if that utility is running. Turn off Windows internal time setting so they don't compete. Highly recommend the software. The program and gps ran 24x7 and the difference between Time.is and this was +0.011 seconds. I have an Amazon purchased gps repeater that is stuck on a broom handle against a window in my basement and I am seeing 7 satellites from it. The sensitivity is very good. The HDOP is 1.9 and thePDOP is 2.5. Anything below 4 is considered great.
It's easy to use a gps navigator. The maps are easy to see. alternate routes are suggested by the traffic company. Yes, the backup camera is compatible with BC 30 or BC 40. Voice activated and ability to pair with a compatible phone. Notable historic sites and the U.S national parks directory are part of the HISTORY network. Without a computer, built in wi-fi for map and software updates.
👤I used a cellphone as my primary navigation tool and purchased the DriveSmart 65. The cellphone navigation systems are great, but I didn't like the convenience of the stand-alone units. I didn't like the fact that the navigation apps weren't easy to see when I manually used the phone for a phone call. There are two more Unless you use a different app or download offline maps from the internet, there's no navigation when you don't have cellular coverage. There are 3 more I never found the offline maps to work for me, there was always a problem with resolution that I could not resolve. Offline mode was not always used to work in general. I tried some of the other free offline navigation apps, but they seemed to be behind in updates, and did not seem refined, leaving me with a slight but ever present apprehension in my mind. I didn't like the small screen size when in portrait mode, even though I had an iPhone Plus. There are five The navigation app on my cellphone ran in the background and was not visible to view. I didn't see all of the trip info functions that the vehicle navigators offered. The app navigators had the same trip info, but it was hard to see. The DriveSmart 65 was more expensive than the 55, but the extras screen real estate was worth a few extra dollars for me. It is hardware. The screen is beautiful! Great resolution and bright colors. The brightness is turned up all the way. The 6.9 inch is the perfect size for me since I like to have all of the trip data functions showing on the screen at all times while allowing for ample space for the map/ navigation which is the most important part. The screen seems to be made of glass, but I am not sure if it is scratch resistant. The frame has a minimal amount of bezel which adds to visual appeal but makes accidental touches easy when trying to adjust the postition/angle of the unit on the mount. The screen is responsive to touch and there is little lag navigating through the menus, as it should be for a device at this price point. The speaker is loud and clear. I don't know what processor is in the unit, but I hope it is an upgrade from last year's model. It is smart to get the best hardware within your means, especially if you plan on keeping the device for several years, to ensure it will be able to effectively run the software updates. I don't like the way the power cord plugs into the back of the device. It would be great if it was plugged into the side or bottom, because it would be easier to mount the device on a desk if the power cord was not sticking out. The mount is standard and works well for mounting on a window, but I have seen it fall off of a vehicle. I bought a friction dash mount from Garmin because it seems to work well for now. I can't state my findings because I haven't had the battery disconnected from a power source for that long. It is very easy to use the software. It seems that the years of production have allowed time for most bugs to be worked out. The high detail map option provides a lot of detail and is helpful in keeping the user oriented from a geographical perspective. When you zoom out with the intent to use it indefinitely, the unit will automatically zoom you back in to the default setting, even though it does not really want you to have full reign on the map. You can have phone notifications for email/text/etc to show on the unit if you sync your phone to it. The option to make and receive phone calls when you sync the device to your phone is available for those that may need it. The unit has the ability to update maps without a computer. After attempting to update the maps 4 times, I got error code each time and the device aborted the process. Maybe it is because my internet connection is not high-speed. It will be great to see if there is a similar issue among other people. The maps will have to be updated with a PC. Conclusions: The device performs well as expected. Excellent native route planning and accurate navigation. The screen is bright and high resolution. It's right in the sweet spot. I am not convinced that the features this unit offers are practical enough to justify the higher price. If the processor is better than last year's model, this is a good value. It was a factual decision. I don't have to use my phone as my main navigation when I have a stand-alone navigator. Happy with the purchase, even though I mentioned some things. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a navigator.
This double din car stereo is compatible with both Apple Carplay andAndroid Auto. You just need to use a cable to connect to your phone. The QLED FHD Resolution Screen has a 1920*1080 video support. 👤I wish I would have done it a long time ago, I replaced a double din with this unit. The built is gps is great, the sound is great, the picture is great, and the built is gps features only found on the new vehicles currently in production. The ability to have internet in the head unit is something I love. It's easy to wire up a factory interface harness when you run YouTube. Overall very pleased with the unit. I bought a head unit that connects to the OBDII interface and provides fault codes and real time diagnostic data. I plan to add the TPMS system soon.
👤This was a nice unit until I realized it was interfering with my factory TPMS. The audio quality was good, the screen images were clear, but if I restart my car after a few minutes, I'll see a "TW isn't responding" error message on the screen. After driving 20 minutes, my factory TPMS would act up, with an error message "SVC TIRE MONITOR" displayed on my Drive Information Center. I put a switch on the power wire to shut down the head unit. I didn't see the TPMS error message when the switch and head unit were off. The TPMS error appeared again when I turned the switch back on. The head unit was returned and replaced with a EONON, which did not have any TPMS issues. The head unit failed to properly run two of the apps I use. Both would crash on the launch. I sent the head unit back to me via theUPS and it cost me $40.00. The joke of the seller only gave me $20, even though they said they'd give me the full return shipping amount. It would have been nice to be told that the maximum amount of money that can be returned is $20. Luckily Amazon stepped in and paid for the difference.
👤It takes several tries before you are able to connect, it is easy to install. It takes several tries before it does connect, even though I set it up to auto connect, and it doesn't stay connected toBluetooth, you literally have to pair it every time you get back in the car, which is very annoying. The screen is a decent size and not too big.
👤It's worth it. An amazing head. Adding Amps can be made snap by Rca outputs. I'm a recording engineer, and I have a gripe with the EQ. I assume it means Frequency, but it's unclear if it's boosting that particular Frequency, or is a Filters. A sweepable band would usually start in the middle of the F side. Is it a boost for the frequencies? The high end is already very high Frequency, as the midF halfway starts to distort S sounds and high pitched instruments. Is it a method of measurement? Do those frequencies affect the next band or is it only for a set point? If you know anything about the operating system, it's incredible. You can use a phone to hook it up to a wi-fi network and watch video. The sample is still better than the full screen.
The high performance gps and navigators. Without an internet connection or a monthly subscription, the utility of your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch is enhanced. It adds easy access to recorded data logs, which can be up to 200 hours worth of storage. Your iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch form is carrying the power burden of determining your position without a 24 hour battery. 👤When taxiing at large airports, I rely on the Bad Elf for position accuracy. I used this for a couple months without any problems after I bought it in December, and it locked onto satellites quickly. It became unreliable for no reason. I placed it in the cockpit, but it couldn't lock onto satellites. Sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn't. I don't know what to expect when I turn it on. It worked for most of my flight across the Atlantic, but for the last couple hours of the flight it wouldn't lock onto any satellites, even though it had them in view. Sometimes it will power off after a few minutes, even though the battery shows 3 out of 4 bars. My coworkers don't have these types of problems. Over the last few weeks, I have contacted Bad Elf, and they were very responsive, but they still didn't fix the problems. Bad Elf customer service will not return my emails, will not provide a replacement or repair, and will abdicate their responsibility in covering their product. The seller won't offer a return because it's past the 30 day return policy. I spent over $200 on a product that only works intermittently. I can not recommend this product, and I am not happy with Bad Elf customer service.
👤After I went into tunnels on road trips, my Pro+ stopped tracking and didn't reacquire again. It would power on out in the open and not find any satellites for an hour or so, and then it would magically pop in. Load an older firmware was what worked for me. I manually loaded the next older firmware, 2.1.43, after my unit came with 2.1.44. I ignore the bad elf app's upgrade notice because it's been rock solid. If I hold the button in while I power it on, the factory resets back to 2.1.44, even after I upgrade to the latest version. I have no problems with both 44 and 50 so far. If it helps someone else, please post it. I can report that the BadElf has worked perfectly every time I have powered it on since I reverted to the older version in October. When the gps signal is blocked, it regains lock right away. The BadElf has worked great using 2.1.43. I upgraded to the new BEGPS-2300-v2.1.52b0 and so far it's good. I will post an update if something changes. The BEGPS-2300-v2.1.52b0 was good for a while, but on my last long road trip it stopped tracking after 30 minutes, and it wasn't in a tunnel. Going back to 2.1.42.
👤I had to return the Bad Elf because it had a bad battery. I got a new one and within 4 months the gps screen went black and won't work at all. I had this for a while and Bad Elf said Tough Luck PAL! No help or ideas on how to fix it. I am an Airline Pilot and I am very grateful that this was not required equipment. Trust me when I say it is a waste of money. At airshows, where I fly a WW2 Warbird for exhibition purposes, I am often asked what kind of accessories I recommend. I warn those who are in the market to stay away from Bad Elf Products because they are trash and have no place in a cockpit. If you want to find your home while driving a moped, good luck, but you have been warned. I will give you my email address if you spend $200 on a Bad Elf product, and it will work just as well as anything they send you. You can not say you were not warned.

👤I've been on my third unit since November. The first unit bricked after six months of ownership. After a few months, the replacement unit stopped charging more than 50%. The third unit will no longer be seen by any apps even if the iPhone connects successfully. What is the solution to dual? Wait for an update. A piece of hardware that worked before with multiple apps and no longer works with any of them is going to be fixed by a single app update. I'm not holding my breath. There was an update on February 27th. My third device has failed but will not be covered by a warranty. Two years ago. They don't stand behind their products because of a serious quality control issue. I wouldn't recommend this gps.
👤They managed to have a high review rate on this product. There were more than 4 stars on its page. The usage experience is terrible. It can't establish stable satellite connections, either onboard aircraft or walking on the street, about 80% of the time. There are not a lot of buildings around and they are not separated from each other. I have traveled around the world. The utility app on the phone needs to be opened to get position for the map. My colleague bought a similar device on the aircraft, which worked just fine, but it was not connected to the iPad. I put the left side of my helmet upside down almost every time I flew, because I didn't like the idea of it being upside down. We have the same version of the software, connection to pad devices worked fine, but mine took forever to establish satellites connection, no matter how I tried. This is a result of the comments. The one without cable is mine. I kept trying more and more and decided to come back and leave something here, but I don't know how deep the hole will be.
👤The XGPS160 track logs are not always up to date, and they have gaps of a couple of seconds with no position reports. The track logs did not have these gaps. I had to manually connect the XGPS160 to the phone each time. When the view to the southern sky was blocked by steep hillsides, the GLO was more accurate. The view to the WAAS satellites may have been partially or fully blocked. Maybe the GLO handles that situation better. The two devices had the same accuracy on the flats where the southern sky was not blocked. I used the XGPS160 logging mode with no connection to the iPhone to compare, but I used the GLO to record tracks. I drove through the Santa Cruz Mountains and the San Francisco Bay Area on the same routes. The tracks from the two devices were very close to the southern sky. When the southern sky was not visible, the GLO tracks were more close to each other and to the location of the roads. The XGPS160 tracks were close to the ground. The dual XGPS status tool is a nice utility, but it has some rough edges, like the fact that it never reported that the WAAS satellites were in use, even though the comparison with GLO suggested they were indeed being used by the XGPS160. The Trips page often has multiple tracks listed.
If you want to update the map for your gps, please contact them and they will give you a address for you to download. They will send you the map files and show you how to upload them. The satnav comes with a high performance processor, built-in 8GB of RAM, plenty of room for you to store maps and materials, and also comes with a car charger and back mount. The 7 inch touch screen has a 800 x 480 resolution. It has a full viewing angle and high brightness (500cd) and can see the map clearly even under the sun. 100% satisfaction, 30 days money back guarantee, and 12 months warranty is offered. They will reply to your questions in 24 hours. 100% satisfaction, 30 days money back guarantee, and 12 months warranty is offered. They will reply to your questions in 24 hours.
👤The manual of How to Turn theGPS On, Download, whatever it needs, has no instructions. I held the button at the top of the gps but nothing happened. I clicked on the USA maps link on the website and it took me to a zip archive of 4.26 gigabytes on my Mac hard drive. It took about 5 hours. What should I do with this zip archive? I have had my Mac plugged in for the last two hours and it just keeps flashing blue lights from left to right. The manual doesn't explain why this is happening or what to do if it happens. The gps didn't seem to have any maps loaded when I turned it on.
👤Works well and for a good price. The touch screen works well. Load times are not very long. The mount works well and stays where it should once it is tightened down. It is possible to use a micro sd card to play music or listen to radio. There are a few games and a calculator in it. It doesn't say street or highway names, instead it says things like "turn right in 100 feet" or "get off the highway in a quarter mile" which can be easier to follow. It can be used to find places you have been to before. The ability to change the route is one of my favorite features. It has the ability to adapt to any mode of transportation you have available. The screen is large and bright. The speaker is loud enough to hear music, but there is an option to plug it into the car stereo to hear it better, but I can hear it by myself. It has worked every time, so far it hasn't gotten confused about where I am.
A built-in gps patch antenna. A built-in roof mount Magnet. There is a serial port interface. Slim Profile Housing. It is compatible with most software. If you are using a laptop, you will need a cable set.
👤The Uniden SDS 100 works great with this, you just get the cable from Uniden, and you save $25+ compared to buying the Uniden gps kit. The radio will detect it if you connect the cable.
👤I use this to connect to my mobile radio. The radio needs aGPS to function properly when it's on the go. None of the other gps receivers worked for me. The serial gps device works for the TM-700A. I made a box that converts the 6 PIN DIn to the 5V DC that I can use to plug in a 5v DC transformer. The gps came up and locked when the radio was plugged in.
👤The Uniden rebadges is completely interchangeable with the Uniden gps puck, including the 6-pin DIN connector. It picks up a usable signal in my basement, and has good sensitivity. The data is industry standard. When searching for satellites, the LEDs blink when they get a fix. Here's the wiring diagram for the black and shield. The ground. Red is required for 50mA and Green is required for 50mA and White is required for 50mA. In, but not needed for most applications.
👤The GlobalSat BR-355S4 is the one I bought that has the PS/2 port, not the one with the plug. You need to provide a separate 5VDC power source for it to work. The attached picture shows the radio with "GPS Data OK" on it, along with the pinout information for both modules. Attach GlobalSat Pin5 TX to Uniden Yellow. Attach GlobalSat Pin1 GND to Uniden Green and a 5V ground. Attach GlobalSat Pin2 VCC to the power source and you'll get 5V across the center two conductors. There is a pinout on the internet. You probably have something in your junk drawer. Plug it into the cigarette charge and then find the two wires with 5V on them using a volt meter. You can find more information on the GlobalSat's website, but you can probably do it from the picture. You can solder wires if you can read pinout diagrams. I was very happy that this came together quickly. The radio now displays lat, lon, course and speed in knots with one button push. It was pretty slick.
👤The unit has worked well with several Icom radios. An interface cable is trivial. The unit is in the side of my house. It's easy to work with. If I needed another such unit, I would recommend and purchase again.
👤I attached this to my Uniden SDS-100 scanner and it registered 'GPS' on the screen. I had a Plug & Play installation. The reception seems to work well with this receiver.
👤Overall rating is 3 stars for erratic output and cost. The price of the bare clone modules is 3x the price of the puck and cabling. The output is not ttl, it's rs232 which is inverted and the voltage on mine is - 4.5v to + 7.7v. There is an added converter. Couldn't get a fix. There are twelve sv in view. Thenav rcvr warning is V. After being off for 12 hours, the device gets a lock and is powered up. GPRMC messages are emitted in a staccato fashion, making gps use as a clock with a seconds indicator a little troublesome. The pattern is around 1100ms, 300ms, 800, 800 and then repeating. The bare $10 gps modules are not a problem with this.
The ADS-B Kit is a pretty spartan one. The kit includes a fan controller, a battery pack, a strap, and a card that supports ForeFlight Synthetic Vision. It has a 30 day return policy and technical support. LIABLE INFORMATION: You can receive and display air-to-air traffic, data, and FIS-B weather with high-gain dmurray14 antennas. It's accessible. A window mount is included in the portable receiver. Provides traffic and weather information using an internal GPYesWAASGPS receiver and supports multiple iPad, iPhones, or Android tablets. It's perfect for iPad and tablets. The most recentware: The latest version of the software is loaded on the card. Plug in the included battery pack and you're good to go. COMPATIBILITY: Scout prices have the Stratus 2S function. The project was built using parts from the founder. It supports ForeFlight, FlyQ EFB, Navigator, WingX, Avnav, and other. Does not work with a navigation device. COMPATIBILITY: Scout prices have the Stratus 2S function. The project was built using parts from the founder. 👤I am skeptical about this purchase. Buying from a small unknown company was a bit of a gamble for me, as Stratux is a do-it-yourself kit. I ordered it anyway, and I thought that if it didn't work, Amazon would be fine with that. I couldn't get the thing to sync up to my Ipad after it charged the battery pack. I thought it was impossible. I called the number listed on the instructions sheet to see if I could get help. Straight to the phone. I got a call back as I was about to go through Amazon's return policies. The guy is doing a great job. A military pilot and instructor. He just loves aviation. I was helped out over the phone. Highly recommend this company. He does it for the joy rather than the money. It was well spent.
👤This product is amazing. I can't emphasize enough how many times the Stratux has saved me and my students by helping us avoid traffic, as a CFI who flies 7 days a week in some of the busiest airspace in the country. Let's talk about the price first. The Stratux is the best deal if you're on a budget. If you can get all the features you need for less than half the price of a Scout, for example, why would you want to spend $500 or more on something? I have never had an issue with ForeFlight's internet connection. I haven't had an issue with the card since I had an issue with Sean, who resolved the problem in the most expedient manner, which is rare these days. I have flown for hours in the Texas summer weather and have had no issues, even when the weather is close to freezing. I bought another external battery just in case, because the external battery will power the unit throughout the day. The Stratux is a good choice for peace of mind and safety. I refuse to fly without my Stratux because it's an incredible tool that adds a massive layer of situational awareness. The CO2CREA Hard Travel Case is a must have for the Stratux to prevent it from getting damaged.
👤I was contacted by Sean at Crew Dog Electronics within an hour after some initial issues were thought to be related to the Stratux. I didn't even consider getting a resolution from Crew Dog Electronics because I had been over 30 days since I purchased the Stratux. I thought I had issues with the Stratux, I was on my own. I was mistaken. Sean at CDE was quick to assess the situation. Since the last update of the Foreflight platform, there have been some serious connection loss issues with the devices such as the Stratux and the Stratus 2. I'm not the only one who has lost their gps signal with an ADS-B receiver that is used in conjunction with Foreflight. Some of the people with similar issues are looking for other EFB platforms because this is a Foreflight issue and not a Stratux issue. Sean at Crew Dog Electronics offered to inspect, repair or replace my Stratux if there was an actual problem with the internal gps, and of course also addressed the loose antenna connection issue I mentioned in my initial review. I was pleasantly surprised. It's clear that Sean is passionate about his product and is quick to address any potential issues with the Stratux, even though he has had several email conversations with him regarding this issue. You can't beat that kind of customer service, even if it costs you about $1,000. After receiving the unit back from Crew Dog Electronics a few days ago, I was able to fly with it yesterday and it worked perfectly! The ForeFlight update was released after many complaints of loss of signal, but not a single issue post update. Crew Dogs Electronics included their new mount for the Stratux, which went on without a hitch on the flying lawnmower. Crew Dogs Electronics has total professionals and on top of their game. Cheers.
Add Gps. You can strengthen your Gps signal on any device by connecting via wireless. The free downloadable app provides accurate gps coordinates, position update rate change, and much more. Being able to add accurate gps to your device will allow you to use hundreds of available apps. The Gps receiver has a battery life of over eight hours of continuous use and comes with a usb charging cord. That will stick to most surfaces.
👤It works better than I anticipated. I have an older WiFi only iPad Mini that I wanted to use for navigation but it doesn't have built-in gps. When I connected my iPad mini to the dual XGPS105A via a wireless connection, it asked to download the accompanying app. The app is useful. It tells you the number of satellites you are connected to, the signal strength, position information, and the battery status. I turned it on in the house because I couldn't wait but I was able to connect to multiple satellites with ease. I thought I would have to go outside. With the gps locked and loaded, I tried out some maps. Both worked well. My weather radar map is now location enabled. Awesome. I have taken it down the road a few times now, about 100 miles total, without issue, but I will update this review once I have a longer road trip under my belt. I didn't expect to see the app mentioned in any of the reviews or forums. This thing is special. I can't wait to try it out against other devices, like a newer iPad, windows tablets, and some surveying equipment. I will report back, but so far it's been good.
👤Don't buy anything from AXXERA or DUAL. The unit will work for 25 times, then the internals will short out, killing the battery, but they will sell you another battery. Next year there will be some other name. They changed their names to keep up with consumer fraud. Don't buy anything made by these people. You will be sad.
👤I bought a gps receiver for my Jeep. This product works in conjunction with my Apple iPad and provides pin point accurate gps for any app you are using. It takes 5 to 10 minutes to connect to my iPad via BluTooth once I turn on the puck. This could be my fault. Overall very pleased! It's easy to charge up at home or in your vehicle. Very easy to use. I stuck a piece of tape to the back of the vehicle and it still works.
👤For almost two months, use the dual XGPS150A with my iPad 2. Since the iPad 2 didn't have a gps receiver installed, I decided to use the dual XGPS 150A, which is described in the technical documentation to receive 12 gps and up. The dual XGPS15A is a free navigation app that has a very simple and minimalist design. The dual XGPS150A receiver is small and has Haptics very pleasant. The gps is green. The Bluethooth connection is created relatively fast after switch on, but the GLONASS satellites are not supported, but they are displayed in the app, but they are crossed out. It happens in dense forests on winding roads and in large cities close to tall houses. When you're on foot in New York, Boston, and Chicago, the pressure point is non-tactile, so locating is almost non-existent. The dual XGPS150A would no longer splash water and dirt if you removed the plastic cover and cut a hole in the non-slip pad.
