👤The unit arrived on time. It was easy to set up. There are a lot of things to like about this. This unit is one of the few that can accommodate a car, RV and Truck. You can set it up for RV/truck and enter all the important information, including length, weight, and weight restricted bridges. It warned me that the bridge on my route II was well below my height restriction. It's very helpful when one encounters unforeseen detours. If you deviate from the units chosen route, it will quickly figure out that you chose a different route and it will calculate from that point. Unlike my car, that insists that you make a U turn and follow its stated route regardless of what you want. There is a Windows browser that will allow you to do internet searching on your phone. I haven't tested this. If you're interested, it plays music and videos. The only negatives I found are 1. Updating maps might be a problem for MacONLY users. I checked in with customer service to update my maps and received a nice response that made perfect sense and assured me that I had the latest maps. Customer service seems to work well. Well, but. I haven't tested it yet. The programing does not include a GO home button. It is possible to put your home into the Favorites, but in my case there was not enough room to enter the complete address, which makes it look incomplete. Adding a Proper GO HOME button would allow for a few more characters. This is a good deal when you compare it to units that cost more.
👤I bought this for my class. I like the features of the unit period. The map ware here is outdated and has been upgraded. Don't buy it because it's useless. Get a navigation device. Save yourself the stress. It has nice features. One site it directed me to was a free map upgrade site which turned out to be a major scam. Not happy.
👤I had to drive to Lakewood, CO for two weeks. The device arrived before the expected date. I was surprised by the features, updated maps, settings, on-road navigation, modifying routes, alternate directions, Facebook, cell phone connection, etc. Performance quality distinguishes performance in cutting through confusion and excel in tedious searches. The device was an important contributor to the success. I always try something new. A+.
👤The Ohrex gps was bought to replace the old one which could not be updated due to low memory. I was attracted to the large screen of the Ohrex model, and the reasonable price, and assumed that the electronics would be common between gps's these days... We followed the directions in the manual and went for a drive in our hometown after we received the Ohrex gps. The Ohrex was not as accurate as our old one. When traveling to large metropolitan freeway areas, we use our gps to help us negotiate large lanes of traffic that are full of other vehicles. During our initial test of the Ohrex, it missed our city hall address by 5 blocks and took us to the wrong side of the building due to one-way streets. We might have become lost if we had traveled in an unfamiliar city. I've never heard a voice say to take a "slight left turn" on the highway approach to a town. Left turn. What is a light left turn? When entering the town on a state highway, the Ohrex directed us off of that HW and routed us through a tight residential area. I didn't care for that at all. The clock wouldn't re-set to the correct local time even if I used a different time zone. I don't like to complain, but I wouldn't trust the gps to take me through an unfamiliar metro area. I just ordered a big name gps through Amazon, hoping it will be the same as the older one we can no longer use.

👤I am a real American who lives in Detroit. I bought this because my boss recommended it and it costs 4 times as much as this. I got mine Saturday morning after ordering it on Friday night. I've been driving a big truck for 20 years and have used several dash cam and gps units. I hope to squash some of the other reviews. 1 It tells you how fast you are. The time and rapture times are shown. I can't honestly say I think about longevity. Only owned a week. 4 If you read the instructions, you will be warned if your route requires you to call a friend. There is a non truck road. You can either accept or reject it. 5 The volume is very low even on the high setting. You can set it up in miles and inches. So it is correct. This is very similar to the older PC miler units from Ark Technologies. If it holds up over time, there's no reason to get anything else. Some of the review is not believable. This isn't a 500 dollar Rand or a navigation device that will do everything automatically. You have to set it up the first time. If you get 7 spots, you should name your big truck or RV "profile number 1". When it asks you which one you prefer, select the one that's right for you. I thought I could answer some of the questions that I had. I will update if something changes.
👤Since they came out, I've used the gps device on my truck. This beats those hands down. More info, no untrue and inaccurate warnings. I've run them side by side programmed for the same destinations and this gps has a world of difference in info and accuracy. The Chinese whooped us again in attention to detail. It takes a little while to get used to the menus and where to find things. I've seen two locations for brightness. You don't need your readers to see this one. It never worked on the 465 or 760. I would buy them the gps if I was having a relative start tricking. I bought a second for the RV after using it for a day. You can set the vehicle sizes. The best trucking gps is a great value.
👤I'm a truck driver and I am impressed with this gps, only thing I did not like is that it doesn't show the speed limit or how fast your traveling, but all in all it's was an awesome choice for me.
👤I drive a semi. My other big name brand gps is not as good as this one.
👤The screen is easy to use and read. Does everything cost more? Truckets save you money.
👤It works as a gps, but not as a trucking gps. I have a route for long island. I was routed through the lincoln tunnel, which is only 13 feet high, but it wouldn't fit because of the 8 foot high bridges.
CUBE will ring if you press find and use the app to show last known location on a map. If you leave something behind, there is a separation alarm. Free lifetime map updates and Live traffic are included with the 5.0” truck navigator. Alert for upcoming Bridge heights, weight limits, and custom truck route for the size and weight of your truck. The display resolution is 480 x272. There is an easy break plan with notifications for breaks and road signs to suggest nearby restaurants. Truck stops by brand and amenities are included in the truck and trailer services directory. Control dzl with your voice, and enjoy built-in wi-fi and hands-free calling. This device is compatible with Windows and Mac OS X.
👤I dislike this device. Disappointed with the navigation. 1. The designated Class truck routes are not shown. 2. It doesn't show the bridge heights. I need these two items in my gps device. The information is on my maps. The reviews of the gps manufacturers were not as good as the reviews of the other manufacturers, and I believe that the information and technology is not available with any gps manufacturers. The database will be very successful if a product is created with it. The fit and finish is what I like. Thank you, but you are disappointed.
👤The features are great, the display is great, and the main part is great. The navigation on garmins is terrible. It will usually bring you a longer way even with the shortest route applied. In truck mode, even with the size of the vehicle entered, it brings you down a lot of dead end roads. There is no need to purchase a separate unit for the better maps. This may be the case in Maine and New Hampshire, but not in other states.
👤The gps works well. I like that you can set it up for doubles and triples, I also like that it works better with my phone, and that it's easy to use with my phone. So far, it is very accurate.
👤This is a good tool for drivers. I was going to be delayed by 2 hours in Idaho due to construction. I was routed around it. It will warn you about accidents, construction, objects in the road, and other things that have been reported to it. The speed limits in Montana are not correct. It shows 70mph for back highways and 65 for freeways, but it has a state border off by about 4 miles. It needs some map updates. It will show you the weather in your route. A gps is not a rule. Use common sense and always read highway signs.
👤I would like to see a version of the maps for commercial trucks. The only way I could use a gps device was with my phone. The product does not recognize new roads or buildings. There is nothing in the new warehouses according to Garmin. That's where the maps come in. In Phoenix AZ, a new stretch of loop 202 going south is open since December, but not for Garmin. I wanted to get on I55 North from Damen Ave but my new $300 gps said "No trucks", which is not true. The navigation system should be less than $75. It is important for Garmin to keep its maps up to date. I spent $300 and updated my maps to be able to find a warehouse that was built more than a year ago. I'm planning to return the gps because it's not very accurate. I'll check out a Rand Mcnally, hopefully it's better than the other one.
👤This gps has gotten me in trouble with taking me down places. If I worked days I would be screwed at times from using this gps sent me down roads with cars parked on both side in residential areas.
The large, easy-to-read 7” touchscreen has a bright, crisp, high-resolution display. You can get a custom truck route based on the size and weight of your truck, and you can see upcoming bridge heights, sharp curves and more. You can view parking information along your route. You can use the Preloaded Truck & Trailer Services directory to find truck stops. Load-to-dock guidance shows potential loading zones or storage lots when approaching your destination. See popular routes used by fellow drivers. You can use the voice assistant to talk to the navigator while keeping your hands on the wheel. If you want to use the ELD for hours of service recording, you need to pair the eLog with the app on your phone or tablet. If you want to use the ELD for hours of service recording, you need to pair the eLog with the app on your phone or tablet.
👤This thing is a quality piece of hardware. It's durable, functional, boots up quickly and works well, unlike some gps units I've had. garmin's maps suck. This thing assures me that my maps are current and up-to-date, but they make mistakes all the time. It tries to send me to closed roads that no longer exist. The biggest flaw with this unit is that it doesn't have a "detour" button like previous garmin gps units. If it wants you to take a road that's closed for roadwork, it's as stubborn as a horse's ass, and will not change its mind. The only way to re-route is to manually enter a different route. garmin, bring back the detour button. It's better than not having a gps at all, but it still has some major flaws that will annoy you.
👤I own a lot of cars. I tried it for a week next to my maps and was not happy with the gps. Without the phone app it won't show traffic. When I received a phone call I didn't like the idea of connecting to my phone, it switched from my phone to the gps. That was making me nervous. I like to deal with maps on the internet for $400. It would be perfect if the bridge heights were known by the maps.
👤I took a few to get used to it. I like the fact that I don't need to hook up to a computer and go through a bunch of steps to update. I have been using for a month and it has been great. Don't leave your gps plugged in all the time, that's a tip I learned from the last one. You will shorten the life span of the battery by burning it up.
👤Can't find addresses on the screen.
👤The best gps I have had. It definitely could use improvement. It doesn't connect to a car, RV, or truck's stereo system to allow the sound of directions to be heard through the speaker system. Once you have downloaded the Garmin Drive app, you can use all of the features on it. The gps doesn't have an auxillary plug area. Sometimes it's hard to hear directions when driving. It's definitely better than my previous units. I would give it 4 stars if it was possible to play directions through the speakers.
👤The product was easy to setup. Sell asked about the item the same day. The service is top notch. Will buy from them again with hesitation.
👤Awesome! I needed a 7” screen. Can not go wrong.
👤I am happy with the device so far. It looks good and he is doing a good job. There is a job.
👤If I want to use this garmin, I have to plug it in all the time, and I don't think I'll buy any electronics from Amazon in the future.
The large 8” screen has a bright, crisp, high-resolution display in landscape or portrait view. You can get a custom truck route based on the size and weight of your truck, and you can see upcoming bridge heights, weight limits, sharp curves, steep grades and more. You can view parking information along your route. You can use the Preloaded Truck & Trailer Services directory to find truck stops. Load-to-dock guidance shows potential loading zones or storage lots when approaching your destination. There are a number of mounting options, including a powered magnetic mount with heavy-duty suction cup, screw down mount and a 1” ball adapter with the AMPS plate. See popular routes used by fellow drivers.
👤On a couple of occasions, I have been able to see the Live Traffic showing areas that have been cleared of traffic. I would suggest a "Trust, but verify" approach to avoid unnecessary re-routing, by pulling up the route on the maps to see if the problem area still exists. I have used this gps for over 50 thousand miles and it is still reliable and useful. The Live Traffic feature has saved me from delays on multiple occasions. The most recent example of how I was able to make an on time delivery is the video I uploaded. The same traffic jam that caused the Amazon Truck to be stuck is the same jam that the gps helped me avoid. I decided to return the atlas maker's gps system and purchase a new one from Garmin after having a bad experience with it on a route to an unfamiliar area. On a second run from the same point of origin to the same destination, but this time with the same car, what a huge difference! I arrived at my destination with a lot less stress in a lot less time because the route was longer in distance, but it didn't take me through small towns. I really appreciated this after the atlas maker's gps told me to take the ramp to the road I was already on at a most crucial time when I was 25 miles away from Rockaway, NJ. I was told to take a U-turn if possible after I was put onto small town roads by the atlas maker. U-turns are not allowed when driving a truck at most carriers, and I would get fired if I did them. The preferred "Trucker Paths" feature of the Garmin is great and I like how it can navigate you right to the trucking dock locations at many destinations. If you're a professional truck driver, you should buy a gps device.
👤Very happy with the gps. I usually don't leave reviews, but I had to for this. It is very user friendly and easy to use. The mount has not fallen off yet and it seems to be accurate. I was debating on getting the bigger screen but I am glad I didn't because I don't think it's worth the money. I also drive a straight piped 379 and the speaker could be a bit louder. I can hear it clearly. 10/10 would buy again and recommend. Upcoming traffic, weight stations, weight limits, and other things are warned by it. This is the one if you are on the fence.
👤I had the new OTR 1000 about 10 days ago. Was bought with points. The map detail is better than my dezl 780. I can see more information with a larger display. I had to pay a one time fee of $4.99 to use a different app on my phone. They use a different phone app to give you traffic and weather data for free. The mount is stronger. It comes with a ball mount and the gps. I refer loads as well as run hazmat loads. The arrival time is the same as my 780. They are using a new type of mapping software that seems to be better than the dezl units.
XGoDY TruckGPS has specialized in the gps industry for more than 10 years. They offer a 24 hour service. They are real humans who will serve you one to one. The X5 gps navigation has a large screen with a resolution of 800x480, which gives you a better visual experience. You can modify your route according to your vehicle's weight, length, height and width, thus avoiding the roads which have width restrictions or height restriction. The new series brings the upgradedUI which is easy to use and practicable with humanization design. If you want to update maps of other countries, you can email them. Advanced Lane Guidance is available for your convenience. 👤I drive a charter bus over the road. I have had two other gps units from major manufacturers. I bought the X5 model after several other drivers suggested the XGoDY gps. I've used it for a couple of weeks now and can give you my experience with this unit. The X5 is a very nice looking unit, and it comes in a strong outer case. The screen is larger than my other units. A bright screen with good resolution. The display is not as cluttered with a screen that large. It has an easy to use GUI for the many features of the gps and a nice touch screen. The package included a window mount holder, a plastic fixed base holder with a grip, and a blue carrying bag. It worked perfectly out of the box and had no trouble connecting to the satellites. The settings of the gps unit can be configured in many ways making it a versatile device. The manual has been written by a non-English speaker. It takes a lot of time and effort to find out how to set the gps. If you're over 40 years old, you'll need a magnifying glass to read the manual. I was surprised to find that my unit was adjusted to measure in miles and yards. Setting up the bus specifications was interesting because I discovered that yards and not feet and inches are used for everything less than a mile. I discovered that it could be set for miles and feet with no help from the manual. It is difficult to adjust to this one on the fly. Do you need the sound to stop? It's about three menus deep. The manual is not helpful because I have yet to figure out what "cockpit" means. The learning curve is steep. The gps has a lot ofdoo-dad apps. None of them will assist the driver. There are apps for everything. Keep track of your miles by quarter, not by state. You can find a Pilot/Flying J, Petro, WalMart, McDonalds with just a quick click of a dedicated button. Not with this gps. If you are a bus driver, you will hate the feature of connecting by bluetooth to your cellphone. You want everyone on the bus to hear your phone call. It will not work with your hands-free headset. That means you don't have to turn in your ear. Is it possible to route a bus/truck that accounts for weight limits and overhead clearances? I don't know. Yesterday it couldn't find the camp. Many of the gps units have trouble with remote rural locations. The jury is still out on that. I'm going to use it for another month. I will be surprised if it ends up in a drawer.
👤The X4 Gps I bought from XGoDY did not work. I may have gotten a return due to a label above the power button. I didn't get aGPS lock after 10 minutes. Take a photo of X4 and X5. I swapped positions to avoid interference. I loved the way it looked, but it just didn't work for me. I would like it to happen. I was able to return it without any problems, but they are not available from Amazon. I hope XGoDY fixes this model. I would buy another one if they sold them again. They had a link to a map update website. Yes! They need a dash top mount and an external gps antenna.
The size and weight of your RV are taken into account to find the best route for your vehicle. Road warnings to keep you aware of steep grades, sharp curves, weight limits and more. A directory of RV parks and services is included along with integrated content from Ultimate Public Campgrounds, PlanRV, and more. Pair with your compatible phone to get access to hands-free calling and notifications, and also to have voice-activated navigation for convenience on the road.
👤Did you ever get told to drive down a road that you shouldn't be on, even if you are taller, shorter, or have more hair? This one doesn't do that. Since we had the 785 to try to make sure it wouldn't take us down hazardous roads, low bridges, or into a loop, we have put in many destinations. This one beat some of the websites. We love it. We have confidence in the gps. The camera, lane departure, and collision avoidance are things we look forward to checking the next time. Launching the software for the phone was the only problem we had. The screen was stuck and we called them. The EULA wasn't visible so they told us to reduce the size of the fonts. It worked after that. It uses your contact list to make and receive calls. The mount is strong. We are using a piece of electronics to put on the dash. Plug it in with the cord provided, because that's what it needs for traffic.
👤I have had the RV-785 for less than a week and have not yet used it on a lengthy trip, but I wanted to relay some initial observations after using it around town. I will comment on BaseCamp and our upcoming trip, as well as use it to plan our trip. 1. It seems like trip planning is accurate. I don't have any experience with any other route planning software or a gps device. Once some time was spent figuring out that program'sUI and how to get the completed route into the RV-785, BaseCamp was easier to plan and modify. 2. The dash cam is not as good as I had hoped. The narrow viewing angle is disappointing, but it will probably be ok. The recorded video has a noticeable "jello effect" on it. I'm using a supplied mount that is not really strong enough to reduce the effect. There is a brief break in the video, probably only a frame or two every minute or so. I haven't checked to see if the interval is random or not, but it is noticeable. I haven't tested the camera in low light or night time. 3. When the lane divider is a dashed line or the road is curved, lane departure warnings do not work, although forward collision and lane departure alert work. I will be testing those features more thoroughly on our upcoming trip. 4. It would be nice if links posted in points of interest were active links, opening the web page in the browser, but maybe this criticism should be directed to the POI providers. It would also be a plus if there was an integration with the earth. I plan to keep the device at this point and possibly change the review after our upcoming trip of around 1600 miles. We are not using any of the RV specific functions yet, but will report back with observations if we do.
👤It was reliable and accurate when I used it on a trip across several states with a 5th wheel. Voice recognition makes it easier to input information. The design of this gps is a good one. The window shows which lane to exit from.
Maps for large vehicles in the USA and Canada are updated regularly. speed. Avoid getting stuck in traffic and know your exact arrival times with the help of the TomTom traffic and services. Jam tail warnings can help you drive safer. With the built-in internet, you can update your map via the USA and Canada. There was no computer needed. The mount instructions are clearly visible on the high brightness and sunlight-readable screen of your TomTom TruckerGPS. Your phone can be used to send and receive messages via the internet. Enjoy the convenience of hands-free calling. Know where to fuel up, take a rest, and service your large vehicle. 1500 plus fuel stations, parking locations, and service centers for large vehicles are included in the details on your TruckerGPS.
👤Even after all the updates and settings have been set, I'm still being put on parkways and sent down roads with low bridges.
👤This gps will take you on roads where trucks do not belong, and it was bought in June of last year. Will take you to the parkways and back roads. I called customer service to inquire about the issue but they told me to update the gps even though it was up to date. I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy it. This is not a truck gps.
👤I was taken to a 12' underpass with no warning of the height restrictions. Weight limits have never been listed.
👤I bought this product to replace my old gps. I was very disappointed. The interface is easy to use. When the problems start, it's when you use it. This is the worst gps I have ever used. It was hard to use it in Northern Maine. The roads that I knew I could travel on were the ones that the gps said was a car only route. It would try to take me down roads I wasn't supposed to be on. I thought I set it up wrong. I called the place. They walked me through the process and said that I had set it up correctly. I am not happy with this purchase. The truck business should not have a partner like TomTom. It should be left to the pros.
👤When I use this gps, it takes me to the parkways that commercial trucks can't travel on. I wouldn't give it a rating. I only gave it one star because it wouldn't let me finish the review.
👤Was not like the older Tom Tom. I was off the route for over an hour and a half and the address wouldn't show up in the search engine. Tom Tom's design was poor. Not worth the money.
👤This could have been a great gps. If I had only created an account with the navigation device. You have to have an account to take advantage of the traffic, weather, and other updates. I decided to dump my gps because I was impressed with the trip planners that were on the market, and I was looking forward to using it and getting the planned trips to the gps. You have to have an account to use the app on your phone. I tried to create an account but it wouldn't let me, I already have an account. Password reset failed. I am stuck. There is no phone number or email address to send something to. It's back to me.
👤This gps will take you on the roads where trucks aren't allowed. Will take you to the parkways and back roads. The gps was up to date, but customer service suggested an update. I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy a lot of headaches. This is not a truck gps. I also called Amazon customer service. I told them the problem. They don't care. A discounted refund was offered. I accepted it because the gps is useless and not for trucks. I lost $45 because I didn't get a full refund. This is the second time that the description doesn't match the item. It wasn't my fault. Amazon didn't care about the price and only refunded 80% of it. If you don't want to lose money and be angry about wrong navigation, I don't recommend buying this gps. Maybe it's not bad for cars. You can find better gps for cars.
Real 4K+FHD1080P dual dash cam The REDTIGER F7N dash cam has a Sony STARVIS Sensor on the front camera and 1920*1080P on the rear camera that captures super clear view. You can help by reading street signs, license plates and other information. Wide-angle dual cameras capture all pedestrians and vehicles around the car, providing sufficient evidence for rear-end crashes. The 4K backup car camera has built-in wi-fi and is easy to use. It's convenient to operate live preview, play back, and device management on your smart phone with the "UCAM" app. The built-in gps can easily record your driving route, speed and other information, which will become your important evidence. The F7N dash cam with Sony STARVIS Sensor improves low light sensitivity and allows clear images in low light environments. The professional WDR, HDR technology ensures the clarity of images at night. Car license plates can be easily seen, even in low-light environments, because of the elimination of the need for an auxiliary light source. 24 hours of parking monitoring and recording. The recorder can be used to automatically monitor the environment. The camera will lock video when it senses a sudden shock or collision. Automatic loop recording will wipe out old files. Recording will be done automatically. The parking monitoring function requires a dedicated Hardwire kit. Contact the support team to get it. Their greatest goal is to satisfy the needs of consumers. They are willing to give a lifetime warranty for the products, and they can give it away for free within a year. The most powerful guarantee on the market is this one. They offer 24 hours of technical support. If you have a question, you can contact them on Amazon or the page of instructions.
👤I bought a hard wire kit to get the parking mode to work. I know it works because it powers the unit without the keys. I went into the menu to put it in parking mode and it told me to hook up the hard wire kit. The camera works fine, but the hardwire parking mode was a selling point for me. I am very disappointed.
👤The Redtiger 4K camera is amazing. It works well. I would use the card they recommend. I tried several of them, but they didn't work. I ordered the Redtiger recommended microSD card and it works great. The hardwire kit is here. It is cheap to say the least. The one I ordered broke. It is constructed in a way where the fuses are pushed into a fitting and then soldered to a wire. I cut off the original fused ends and added the add-a-fuse ends to the battery and the wires to make it work again.
👤The camera is great, other than the recording options. There is no option to record long drives. The whole point of a dash cam is to capture the entire drive. If you ever get rear-ended, the back camera won't record, so you'll have to use the front camera. Everything else about this product is a waste of money. I would recommend buying any other camera. Not worth the price. I would only spend $20 for what works in this product.
👤I would like to buy this sooner. There are many pros to this. Playback works great at night and is better than just viewing through the camera. Don't just look at the camera. It is not until you play it back that it will be better. It is perfect as per the picture attached. I need that added protection since I go home at night. The gps part is great, so it logs where you are if someone questions you. Lock feature makes it harder to destroy video. If something happens, you can send it to others through your phone. The gps is mounted to the window and it has its own internet. They give you a window cling so you don't have issues taking mount off. I didn't have a chance to mount the back camera which has decent resolution but they don't make it long enough to fit the full back window. I have to adhere it to the dome light. The wiring needs at least an extra foot.
👤There are pros and cons to having the time gps and speed stamp option on video. Very good audio and video quality, small enough to mount behind a mirror. It doesn't interfere with your field of view, so it makes me more attentive and safer. I can't record the driver side window or passenger side window because the mount doesn't swivel. If I stand outside, the signal is weak and the rear camera mount is limited. When you get in the vehicle, you have to turn on the internet, not all menu options from the cam are one the App.
The award-winning truck-specific navigation from Rand McNally is a must have. You can get real-time updates about the weather, traffic, and fuel prices. Truck POIs, advanced lane guidance, toll costs, warnings, fuel logs, and more are included in this truck-specific navigation. Log your hours on the go with the built-in app. You can connect the app to the ELD 50 or DC 200 device for a complete electronic logging solution. You can play your favorite satellite radio stations through your truck stereo. Provides voice assistance and hands-free calling. Weather, traffic, sports, and more can be heard over the air.
👤This navigation is called Gamble Dont buy it. I had a lot of problems with it since I bought it, and it's funny because I had the same problems with it before. When you change the brightness, the bottom of the screen starts to flicker. Sometimes it restarts for a couple of hours. It gets crazy hot after driving for a long time. Sometimes it doesn't want to look for a gps signal. There are more things that I am forgetting about. You will ask me if it's so bad, but I didn't contact them because I was doing something wrong, and after talking to them many times they politely told me to go. I will return the garbage and newer ones.
👤Hate it, hate it. My driver is in a false imprisonment because of the incorrect date. It's so frustrating. The truck is off, the keys are taken and the driver wakes up in the morning. He was driving for 12 hours after a 50 mile trip.
👤There is a huge crack on the screen as I opened the item. The cover around the product doesn't look right, which makes me think it's not brand new. I am very upset and very disappointed that my trip will have to be postponed until I can do something about this. Don't buy from this seller unless you want to resell the broken product. Purchase elsewhere and save your money. Stay away.
👤There are a lot of problems with this unit. 1. The weight of the tablets can't be held by the fragile brackets. The second brackets broke on the second day. It'll break if I call for a third one. I'm going to probably use 3M heavy duty mounting tape, which works better than the weak mounting tabs on the factory mount, but having to use tape is rediculous considering the purchase price. It runs hot! If it gets too hot, the gps will lock up. I've been trying to shield the unit from the sun using a white hankerchief, but it's still rediculous considering the purchase price. It's difficult to keep a hanker chief in place. 3. The satellite radio app is frozen. At least a dozen times today. The gps wasn't freezing up, so it didn't appear to be heat related. 4. Spelling is very important in the gps address search. Sometimes US10 works, but sometimes it wants US 10 and sometimes US Highway 10. It can't always find addresses that are easy to find using a map. If you don't notice a spelling mistake while typing, you have to start over because you can't place the cursor anywhere except at the end of the sentence. 5. It's unsafe to have to fiddle with the damned thing. I blew through a weigh station because I was trying to get back to normal. 6. There is so much software running in the background that it eats the battery at a rapid rate. Plugging a 12v cord directly into the tablet will kill it six hours into your day. 7. The dash cam feature is cool, but recording a lot of memory makes me not use it. At least on paper, it's great to have an all-in-one unit. The gps is accurate. The display of satellite radio is great. I love the large screen. The built-in atlas is a replica of the paper one. Technical support team can be notified of speed limit changes. There are constant stability problems caused by the software or the very high temp this unit produces. The mount is not strong enough to hold the tablets weight over rough Midwestern roads. Half way through your trip, the battery is dead. There is no replacement screen protector available. I think the designers crammed too much into this product, which resulted in a device that can't do anything very well. There is an update: 1. The mounting bracket was improved. I was told by customer service that I was on a list to receive the new brackets, but they never happened. The new edition was available several weeks before I had to call back. The new replacement brackets broke in the same place as the previous edition. 2. I discovered that the world's foremost cartography experts rely exclusively on third party sources for their mapping. Third party sources who never seem to update with the suggested corrections pass along all the speed limit, road weight limit, and mapping edit suggestions. 3. The old style miniusb port does not hold the weight of the charging cord. 4. A generic replacement screen protector was cut to fit. I gave up and removed the clunky unit from service.
Any truck can be a connected truck. The most popular premium trucking device on the market. There is a built-in satellite radio receiver. A high-resolution screen. It's possible to use a hands-free calling and texting device.
👤I've had 3 of them. I thought that the first one was a refurbished unit that had been abused and returned, so I bought a new one. It had the same issues as the refurbished unit. In the second week of being in the truck, the green lines go horizontally. I believe that the best software on the market is damming the hardware. I will have to go back to my home. It works well. I would not use this device for a week.
👤I should have listened to the other reviews. It was in a plain cardboard box. I thought I was getting a new one. I have used it for six hours and it has frozen three times and said to search for gps another hour. I only have time for my first trip. Definitely coming back.
👤Most of the time it is cold. Product breaks easily. Not recommended to anyone.
👤The magnetic charging dock on this device is over heating, which is a joke because it is in the magnetic charging deck.
👤I didn't have it for two months and tech support sent me a cable that didn't help. I need this for the road truck driver. I can't get to the post office to send it back because I'm not home for months at a time. It was a bad choice.
👤For the last 6 years, I have been a faithful R/M customer, and I have been with the 540 series for years. Very happy. I got my money's worth from them, and they replaced everything with this model. I think the unit was tested in a lab but not in a truck. The design is poor first off. Hit one good hit and fall to the floor. I run the I-5 now. I had to mount up on the window so I could rest on the dash. I have to deal with overheating, getting hot and locks up,freezes and looses gps signal on a daily basis. The sun was not an issue when I bought it back in February. When you really don't want it to, it will freeze or loose the gps signal. I wanted it for the fact that I can put my music on the unit and it will make my radio system noise when I listen to audio books. When the truck is shut down and restarts, it doesn't hold the previous route's memory. You can't add to the route like previous models when you want to route to a symbol. This is the worst unit I have ever owned and it wasn't cheap, but it wasn't inexpensive. I have nothing positive to say about this model and wish I could have returned it. Don't buy this model. I wish I had my 740 back.
👤It takes up to 10 minutes to get a gps signal. The Tablet shuts down when it gets very hot. I've had 3 different rand mcnally truck gps and all 3 failed after about a year from the battery getting hot. The internet works fine when you go to the browser after this one gets hot and it won't update maps. This was the last one I got from rand.
