👤It is not as easy to use as some of the more well known brands.
Free map updates and live traffic are included with the truck navigator. Alert for upcoming bridge heights and weight limits, plus a custom truck route for the size and weight of your truck. There is an easy break plan with notifications for breaks and road signs to suggest nearby restaurants. Truck stops by brand and amenities are included in the truck and trailer services directory.
👤This is a device that is designed for trucks. I use it in my car and frequently rent trucks. You can still use this model if you never drive a truck. When you start it, it asks which vehicle you are using it for. The start-up process is immediately happening. There could be a wait until it's ready to go. The key thing that makes this gps superior is that it knows how tall your truck is once you set it up. You can input the truck's weight and width. This is important when driving your truck into unknown territory, as the Garmin knows which overpasses you can't fit under. You don't want to follow the unit blindly if it's wrong about the height, so keep reading the clearance height signs. Lifetime map updates are free with this model.
👤I use a gps device for trucking. It is easy to use and accurate. The weather radar keeps me informed. It is nice to know that there is a scale ahead. There are rest areas, truck parking, fuel stops and more. The unit I bought was brand new. It took 4 hours to update from the internet. I got a 3 year trade in plan for 14 so I know if the unit fails. So far, it's been good, 5000+ miles and makes life less tiring.
👤The product is no longer working. It won't go on and it's fully charged. The return window is closed. Is there anything I can do to get a return on this product? We only had it for 5 months.
👤A winner. It took 5 seconds to get satellites out of the box. The longest was 20 seconds. The screen is easy to read in the sun. The auto-zoom can be turned off. You can use 2D or 3D. You can either see upcoming services or not on the map. I don't like the blue squares on the map because they cover up a lot of the map. When you tap your car icon in the center of the map, you will see a screen with information about your location, and on the right side, you can choose services such as gas, restaurants, or hospitals, and once you tap one, it will take you there. The left and right boxes show information, but the right one can be set to show freeway mile markers, estimated time of arrival, or elevation. I was surprised to see the mile markers on major US highways, like US 84 and US 231 here in Alabama. The map can be set for sparse, medium, or busy, and can have always-North orientation or turn with the vehicle. There is a small scale indicator that shows you how far away you are from the map. The green top ribbon on the display shows upcoming cross-streets and warnings for drops in speed limit, school zones, railroad crossing and sharp curves ahead. It warns on the red light cameras when you are on the freeway and the camera is on the street below, a bit of a startle to the first time I saw that. The unit has no lag. You can see the display at 30 mph, but you have to go past a cross street. It takes 2 seconds for the gps to show that the railroad crossing has passed. The icon can be set to different graphics. I chose the blue one. There is an arrowhead. It has a red tip on one of the rear fins, giving me the impression that this is the direction in which we are headed. You can't change the color of the triangle. There are trucks and vans. In my neighborhood there has been a lot of recent building and new roads, but the maps are up to date. Updating the map is easy if you take the unit out of the box. Plug the unit into the dash holder and then download garminexpress.exe, which will do all the rest for you. The update might take three hours, but mine took 15 minutes. When the power is on, the unit comes on automatically. The mount allows the unit to be pointed in any direction you want. There are no flimsy plastic parts that are just waiting to break. The 5-inch screen is large for me. An excellent unit with lots of ways to personalize. I haven't tried voice recognition.
The large, easy-to-read 7” touchscreen has a bright, crisp, high-resolution display. You can get a custom truck route based on the size and weight of your truck, and you can see upcoming bridge heights, sharp curves and more. You can view parking information along your route. You can use the Preloaded Truck & Trailer Services directory to find truck stops. Load-to-dock guidance shows potential loading zones or storage lots when approaching your destination. See popular routes used by fellow drivers. You can use the voice assistant to talk to the navigator while keeping your hands on the wheel. If you want to use the ELD for hours of service recording, you need to pair the eLog with the app on your phone or tablet. 👤This thing is a quality piece of hardware. It's durable, functional, boots up quickly and works well, unlike some gps units I've had. garmin's maps suck. This thing assures me that my maps are current and up-to-date, but they make mistakes all the time. It tries to send me to closed roads that no longer exist. The biggest flaw with this unit is that it doesn't have a "detour" button like previous garmin gps units. If it wants you to take a road that's closed for roadwork, it's as stubborn as a horse's ass, and will not change its mind. The only way to re-route is to manually enter a different route. garmin, bring back the detour button. It's better than not having a gps at all, but it still has some major flaws that will annoy you.
👤I own a lot of cars. I tried it for a week next to my maps and was not happy with the gps. Without the phone app it won't show traffic. When I received a phone call I didn't like the idea of connecting to my phone, it switched from my phone to the gps. That was making me nervous. I like to deal with maps on the internet for $400. It would be perfect if the bridge heights were known by the maps.
👤I took a few to get used to it. I like the fact that I don't need to hook up to a computer and go through a bunch of steps to update. I have been using for a month and it has been great. Don't leave your gps plugged in all the time, that's a tip I learned from the last one. You will shorten the life span of the battery by burning it up.
👤Can't find addresses on the screen.
👤The best gps I have had. It definitely could use improvement. It doesn't connect to a car, RV, or truck's stereo system to allow the sound of directions to be heard through the speaker system. Once you have downloaded the Garmin Drive app, you can use all of the features on it. The gps doesn't have an auxillary plug area. Sometimes it's hard to hear directions when driving. It's definitely better than my previous units. I would give it 4 stars if it was possible to play directions through the speakers.
👤The product was easy to setup. Sell asked about the item the same day. The service is top notch. Will buy from them again with hesitation.
👤Awesome! I needed a 7” screen. Can not go wrong.
👤I am happy with the device so far. It looks good and he is doing a good job. There is a job.
👤If I want to use this garmin, I have to plug it in all the time, and I don't think I'll buy any electronics from Amazon in the future.
Premium 7” truck navigator with magnetic mount and map updates. You can get free live services, such as traffic and weather, when you download the free Smartphone Link app. The display size is 6.0 W x 3.5 H. Alert for upcoming bridge heights, sharp curves, steep grades and more are included in the custom truck route. Easy Break Planning with timely notifications and a Truck & Trailer Services directory, is a great way to plan a break. Control dzl 780 with your voice, and you can use the free Smartphone Link app to get notifications and maps. 👤This has worked out well. garmin has been used for over 20 years and it is as good as any. The screen is clear and it interacts with my phone in a nice way. My eyes are focused on the road. The garmin is driving a truck.
👤The item didn't work. The item was refurbished. Customer service promised to overnight as it is needed for work but they didn't. Not happy with the company that sold it.
👤Muy compra y excelente calidad.
👤I like using my phone.
👤I could not do anything because my item never worked, I had to charge it on my truck for almost a day, and it kept turning and flashonf. I was trying to understand how my gps worked when I saw a renewed review. Don't waste your time trying to save money to get a bad item.
CUBE will ring if you press find and use the app to show last known location on a map. If you leave something behind, there is a separation alarm. Free lifetime map updates and Live traffic are included with the 5.0” truck navigator. Alert for upcoming Bridge heights, weight limits, and custom truck route for the size and weight of your truck. The display resolution is 480 x272. There is an easy break plan with notifications for breaks and road signs to suggest nearby restaurants. Truck stops by brand and amenities are included in the truck and trailer services directory. Control dzl with your voice, and enjoy built-in wi-fi and hands-free calling. This device is compatible with Windows and Mac OS X.
👤I dislike this device. Disappointed with the navigation. 1. The designated Class truck routes are not shown. 2. It doesn't show the bridge heights. I need these two items in my gps device. The information is on my maps. The reviews of the gps manufacturers were not as good as the reviews of the other manufacturers, and I believe that the information and technology is not available with any gps manufacturers. The database will be very successful if a product is created with it. The fit and finish is what I like. Thank you, but you are disappointed.
👤The features are great, the display is great, and the main part is great. The navigation on garmins is terrible. It will usually bring you a longer way even with the shortest route applied. In truck mode, even with the size of the vehicle entered, it brings you down a lot of dead end roads. There is no need to purchase a separate unit for the better maps. This may be the case in Maine and New Hampshire, but not in other states.
👤The gps works well. I like that you can set it up for doubles and triples, I also like that it works better with my phone, and that it's easy to use with my phone. So far, it is very accurate.
👤This is a good tool for drivers. I was going to be delayed by 2 hours in Idaho due to construction. I was routed around it. It will warn you about accidents, construction, objects in the road, and other things that have been reported to it. The speed limits in Montana are not correct. It shows 70mph for back highways and 65 for freeways, but it has a state border off by about 4 miles. It needs some map updates. It will show you the weather in your route. A gps is not a rule. Use common sense and always read highway signs.
👤I would like to see a version of the maps for commercial trucks. The only way I could use a gps device was with my phone. The product does not recognize new roads or buildings. There is nothing in the new warehouses according to Garmin. That's where the maps come in. In Phoenix AZ, a new stretch of loop 202 going south is open since December, but not for Garmin. I wanted to get on I55 North from Damen Ave but my new $300 gps said "No trucks", which is not true. The navigation system should be less than $75. It is important for Garmin to keep its maps up to date. I spent $300 and updated my maps to be able to find a warehouse that was built more than a year ago. I'm planning to return the gps because it's not very accurate. I'll check out a Rand Mcnally, hopefully it's better than the other one.
👤This gps has gotten me in trouble with taking me down places. If I worked days I would be screwed at times from using this gps sent me down roads with cars parked on both side in residential areas.

👤I am a real American who lives in Detroit. I bought this because my boss recommended it and it costs 4 times as much as this. I got mine Saturday morning after ordering it on Friday night. I've been driving a big truck for 20 years and have used several dash cam and gps units. I hope to squash some of the other reviews. 1 It tells you how fast you are. The time and rapture times are shown. I can't honestly say I think about longevity. Only owned a week. 4 If you read the instructions, you will be warned if your route requires you to call a friend. There is a non truck road. You can either accept or reject it. 5 The volume is very low even on the high setting. You can set it up in miles and inches. So it is correct. This is very similar to the older PC miler units from Ark Technologies. If it holds up over time, there's no reason to get anything else. Some of the review is not believable. This isn't a 500 dollar Rand or a navigation device that will do everything automatically. You have to set it up the first time. If you get 7 spots, you should name your big truck or RV "profile number 1". When it asks you which one you prefer, select the one that's right for you. I thought I could answer some of the questions that I had. I will update if something changes.
👤Since they came out, I've used the gps device on my truck. This beats those hands down. More info, no untrue and inaccurate warnings. I've run them side by side programmed for the same destinations and this gps has a world of difference in info and accuracy. The Chinese whooped us again in attention to detail. It takes a little while to get used to the menus and where to find things. I've seen two locations for brightness. You don't need your readers to see this one. It never worked on the 465 or 760. I would buy them the gps if I was having a relative start tricking. I bought a second for the RV after using it for a day. You can set the vehicle sizes. The best trucking gps is a great value.
👤I'm a truck driver and I am impressed with this gps, only thing I did not like is that it doesn't show the speed limit or how fast your traveling, but all in all it's was an awesome choice for me.
👤I drive a semi. My other big name brand gps is not as good as this one.
👤The screen is easy to use and read. Does everything cost more? Truckets save you money.
👤It works as a gps, but not as a trucking gps. I have a route for long island. I was routed through the lincoln tunnel, which is only 13 feet high, but it wouldn't fit because of the 8 foot high bridges.

It's easy to use a gps navigator. The maps are easy to see. alternate routes are suggested by the traffic company. Yes, the backup camera is compatible with BC 30 or BC 40. Voice activated and ability to pair with a compatible phone. Notable historic sites and the U.S national parks directory are part of the HISTORY network. Without a computer, built in wi-fi for map and software updates.
👤I used a cellphone as my primary navigation tool and purchased the DriveSmart 65. The cellphone navigation systems are great, but I didn't like the convenience of the stand-alone units. I didn't like the fact that the navigation apps weren't easy to see when I manually used the phone for a phone call. There are two more Unless you use a different app or download offline maps from the internet, there's no navigation when you don't have cellular coverage. There are 3 more I never found the offline maps to work for me, there was always a problem with resolution that I could not resolve. Offline mode was not always used to work in general. I tried some of the other free offline navigation apps, but they seemed to be behind in updates, and did not seem refined, leaving me with a slight but ever present apprehension in my mind. I didn't like the small screen size when in portrait mode, even though I had an iPhone Plus. There are five The navigation app on my cellphone ran in the background and was not visible to view. I didn't see all of the trip info functions that the vehicle navigators offered. The app navigators had the same trip info, but it was hard to see. The DriveSmart 65 was more expensive than the 55, but the extras screen real estate was worth a few extra dollars for me. It is hardware. The screen is beautiful! Great resolution and bright colors. The brightness is turned up all the way. The 6.9 inch is the perfect size for me since I like to have all of the trip data functions showing on the screen at all times while allowing for ample space for the map/ navigation which is the most important part. The screen seems to be made of glass, but I am not sure if it is scratch resistant. The frame has a minimal amount of bezel which adds to visual appeal but makes accidental touches easy when trying to adjust the postition/angle of the unit on the mount. The screen is responsive to touch and there is little lag navigating through the menus, as it should be for a device at this price point. The speaker is loud and clear. I don't know what processor is in the unit, but I hope it is an upgrade from last year's model. It is smart to get the best hardware within your means, especially if you plan on keeping the device for several years, to ensure it will be able to effectively run the software updates. I don't like the way the power cord plugs into the back of the device. It would be great if it was plugged into the side or bottom, because it would be easier to mount the device on a desk if the power cord was not sticking out. The mount is standard and works well for mounting on a window, but I have seen it fall off of a vehicle. I bought a friction dash mount from Garmin because it seems to work well for now. I can't state my findings because I haven't had the battery disconnected from a power source for that long. It is very easy to use the software. It seems that the years of production have allowed time for most bugs to be worked out. The high detail map option provides a lot of detail and is helpful in keeping the user oriented from a geographical perspective. When you zoom out with the intent to use it indefinitely, the unit will automatically zoom you back in to the default setting, even though it does not really want you to have full reign on the map. You can have phone notifications for email/text/etc to show on the unit if you sync your phone to it. The option to make and receive phone calls when you sync the device to your phone is available for those that may need it. The unit has the ability to update maps without a computer. After attempting to update the maps 4 times, I got error code each time and the device aborted the process. Maybe it is because my internet connection is not high-speed. It will be great to see if there is a similar issue among other people. The maps will have to be updated with a PC. Conclusions: The device performs well as expected. Excellent native route planning and accurate navigation. The screen is bright and high resolution. It's right in the sweet spot. I am not convinced that the features this unit offers are practical enough to justify the higher price. If the processor is better than last year's model, this is a good value. It was a factual decision. I don't have to use my phone as my main navigation when I have a stand-alone navigator. Happy with the purchase, even though I mentioned some things. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a navigator.

👤The unit arrived on time. It was easy to set up. There are a lot of things to like about this. This unit is one of the few that can accommodate a car, RV and Truck. You can set it up for RV/truck and enter all the important information, including length, weight, and weight restricted bridges. It warned me that the bridge on my route II was well below my height restriction. It's very helpful when one encounters unforeseen detours. If you deviate from the units chosen route, it will quickly figure out that you chose a different route and it will calculate from that point. Unlike my car, that insists that you make a U turn and follow its stated route regardless of what you want. There is a Windows browser that will allow you to do internet searching on your phone. I haven't tested this. If you're interested, it plays music and videos. The only negatives I found are 1. Updating maps might be a problem for MacONLY users. I checked in with customer service to update my maps and received a nice response that made perfect sense and assured me that I had the latest maps. Customer service seems to work well. Well, but. I haven't tested it yet. The programing does not include a GO home button. It is possible to put your home into the Favorites, but in my case there was not enough room to enter the complete address, which makes it look incomplete. Adding a Proper GO HOME button would allow for a few more characters. This is a good deal when you compare it to units that cost more.
👤I bought this for my class. I like the features of the unit period. The map ware here is outdated and has been upgraded. Don't buy it because it's useless. Get a navigation device. Save yourself the stress. It has nice features. One site it directed me to was a free map upgrade site which turned out to be a major scam. Not happy.
👤I had to drive to Lakewood, CO for two weeks. The device arrived before the expected date. I was surprised by the features, updated maps, settings, on-road navigation, modifying routes, alternate directions, Facebook, cell phone connection, etc. Performance quality distinguishes performance in cutting through confusion and excel in tedious searches. The device was an important contributor to the success. I always try something new. A+.
👤The Ohrex gps was bought to replace the old one which could not be updated due to low memory. I was attracted to the large screen of the Ohrex model, and the reasonable price, and assumed that the electronics would be common between gps's these days... We followed the directions in the manual and went for a drive in our hometown after we received the Ohrex gps. The Ohrex was not as accurate as our old one. When traveling to large metropolitan freeway areas, we use our gps to help us negotiate large lanes of traffic that are full of other vehicles. During our initial test of the Ohrex, it missed our city hall address by 5 blocks and took us to the wrong side of the building due to one-way streets. We might have become lost if we had traveled in an unfamiliar city. I've never heard a voice say to take a "slight left turn" on the highway approach to a town. Left turn. What is a light left turn? When entering the town on a state highway, the Ohrex directed us off of that HW and routed us through a tight residential area. I didn't care for that at all. The clock wouldn't re-set to the correct local time even if I used a different time zone. I don't like to complain, but I wouldn't trust the gps to take me through an unfamiliar metro area. I just ordered a big name gps through Amazon, hoping it will be the same as the older one we can no longer use.
The sixth-generation TND truck is called the TND 750. There is a new design inside and out.
👤The gps is garbage. I'm returning it and going back to where I came from. The screen is so small that you can't see the icons or mileage in a glance. It can't say "speed warning", but it can say "peeed warning" and "beep warning". The route is terrible. It wants to make you do a U turn and go back, even though avoid U turns is activated. The 2.0 format is a big swing and miss.
👤After my 740 stopped holding a charge, I purchased the TND 750 on Amazon. I use the gps for two years and I like the motor carrier references on the screen. I rely on my gps and atlas to follow my routes. I assumed the 750 was the updated version and that the charging issues of the 740 had been solved by Rand McNally. No, no, no! The 750 lasted me for a day. It wouldn't charge at all, and I tried different cables and the plug provided in the package. It wouldn't work while plugged in, just kept flashing low battery and shutting off. I had to pay $425.00 for a 740 at the truck stop. I will be returning the junk to Amazon for a refund. Amazon's return policy is very easy to use. Stay away from the 750. JUNK!
👤I am running my 740 next to Gps so I can follow the trails that I have saved because I could not transfer my trail and address book because the 740 says the files are corrupted. My last two 740s were great, but only last 15 months before they stop working. The paper road atlas is a waste of money, and it should be returned to the TND730.
👤I wish I'd checked the reviews before buying it. I had a great little unit, the TND520, for 7 years before it started to get beat up. I thought it was time to retire. I said it was a piece of shit, so let's get the all new bigger model. The battery won't hold a charge, can barely hear the volume when it's talking. The first one I got was replaced by Amazon, but the second one had the same problems. I will not be buying R MCN again.
👤The hardware is still better than the previous model, but I don't trust it more. Routes on alternates are less than satisfactory. I have not run into any problems like others have. It is supposed to be an updated version of the 740. The magnet is a lot better than they said. I don't see it falling even if I hit it. I have been doing this differently and not leaving plugged in the entire time. I had to plug it back in after 7 hours. I still have my car. It is at the end of its life with the battery. I want to test the new one before I start running them. The 750 is more accurate than the 740. Since I don't want to use it's delay feature, I have had to adjust mentally with travels time a bit more. The navigation screen is the same. Unless I want to check for an update, I don't keep it connected to the internet. I have no idea about those features.
There are maps of North America and free lifetime map updates on the Truck navigation device. Alert for upcoming Bridge heights, weight limits, and custom truck route for the size and weight of your truck. Current fuel prices, weather conditions, and crowdsourced and rated POIs are provided by Sophisticated Connected Services. New mileage and fuel logs are included in the enhanced driver tools. A Dash cam with loop recording and integrated G-force sensor. Usb cable was included. The camera has a video. The technology of wireless communication.
👤They didn't do any testing on this piece of junk. The map tells you to go one direction while the voice guidance tells you to go another. I was trying to get onto I55 N in West Memphis when it tried to get me to go left into oncoming traffic instead of taking the ramp on the right. When you are on the interstate, it shows you taking exits when you aren't, and it has to change the route when it learns you are still on the interstate. Even though most were useless, the TND740 always had an alternate route. This thing is a step backwards from the 740 except for the magnet mount, it hasn't fallen off once. I hope they put out an update soon.
👤I have used the gps for a month and it is more than enough. I like the new interface and graphics, but I don't like the fact that it takes more than 2 clicks to get what I need. I love how this is supposed to be a gps for truck drivers but it cares more for cars and RVs than I do. I don't know why they don't ask for driver input on how to better set up the interface, but I recommend the 740 because it's the only one that has everything on the main map. Don't buy this for the dash camera, it's terrible. Invest in a dash cam. Good luck getting anything usable out of the camera after the sun goes down because the quality is subpar. I got a video with my headlights barely visible. The aspect of the tablet is fine if you want to use it how you would on a computer. The dam mountings systems A+ on that interface were fixed. The interface for cars. The B interface is used for RVs. A dash cam. Buy at your own expense.
👤Totally disappointed. There are no current updates for the tnd80 that I have had. I ordered a new tnd. After charging, I registered it right out of the box. I did the update and went on to setup, but it froze up. It started working again after 20 minutes. I went to navigation and it crashed after 3-4 minutes. It crashed before I could get to a destination after 20 minutes. This went on and on. I plugged in the charge and tried it, but it crashed in less than 10 miles after I got an address. I had a heated discussion with a tech after I called, and I am sending the unit back for a full refund. I don't recommend this gps to anyone.
👤The first brick was expensive. It won't turn on if you unbox it. The second one does not do as well as the first one. The directions keep telling me to exit and reenter the interstates. There is a The tablets freeze up constantly. The tablet can't find alternate routes to save its life. I used 35 because I didn't want to take highway 77 in West Virginia.
