👤I am dissatisfied. I received a garmin that was not what I wanted. My daughter used it for the first time yesterday and it doesn't work. I wasted my money because I can't get my money back because this was a Christmas gift. I will not purchase electronics from this site again. If possible, I would have rated this lower.

👤When touching the screen, it seems a little slow to react.

👤It's perfect, we use both Spanish and English.

👤I thought it would be the same. Thank you.

👤I bought a refurbished unit to replace a 15 year old unit that I used for a long time. I was surprised to see that the screen was bigger than my Nuvi. I entered an address 450 miles away and it took me there. The screen is bright and I liked the gas station icons. It worked out okay, but I would have liked to have been able to select gas stations with diesel fuel. I don't need a lot of features, just accurate directions spoken in a clear voice and that unit did that perfectly. The display of the average speed and trip mileage was very useful to me. I am happy with this unit.

👤The unit arrived on time. It was easy to set up. There are a lot of things to like about this. This unit is one of the few that can accommodate a car, RV and Truck. You can set it up for RV/truck and enter all the important information, including length, weight, and weight restricted bridges. It warned me that the bridge on my route II was well below my height restriction. It's very helpful when one encounters unforeseen detours. If you deviate from the units chosen route, it will quickly figure out that you chose a different route and it will calculate from that point. Unlike my car, that insists that you make a U turn and follow its stated route regardless of what you want. There is a Windows browser that will allow you to do internet searching on your phone. I haven't tested this. If you're interested, it plays music and videos. The only negatives I found are 1. Updating maps might be a problem for MacONLY users. I checked in with customer service to update my maps and received a nice response that made perfect sense and assured me that I had the latest maps. Customer service seems to work well. Well, but. I haven't tested it yet. The programing does not include a GO home button. It is possible to put your home into the Favorites, but in my case there was not enough room to enter the complete address, which makes it look incomplete. Adding a Proper GO HOME button would allow for a few more characters. This is a good deal when you compare it to units that cost more.

👤I bought this for my class. I like the features of the unit period. The map ware here is outdated and has been upgraded. Don't buy it because it's useless. Get a navigation device. Save yourself the stress. It has nice features. One site it directed me to was a free map upgrade site which turned out to be a major scam. Not happy.

👤I had to drive to Lakewood, CO for two weeks. The device arrived before the expected date. I was surprised by the features, updated maps, settings, on-road navigation, modifying routes, alternate directions, Facebook, cell phone connection, etc. Performance quality distinguishes performance in cutting through confusion and excel in tedious searches. The device was an important contributor to the success. I always try something new. A+.

👤The Ohrex gps was bought to replace the old one which could not be updated due to low memory. I was attracted to the large screen of the Ohrex model, and the reasonable price, and assumed that the electronics would be common between gps's these days... We followed the directions in the manual and went for a drive in our hometown after we received the Ohrex gps. The Ohrex was not as accurate as our old one. When traveling to large metropolitan freeway areas, we use our gps to help us negotiate large lanes of traffic that are full of other vehicles. During our initial test of the Ohrex, it missed our city hall address by 5 blocks and took us to the wrong side of the building due to one-way streets. We might have become lost if we had traveled in an unfamiliar city. I've never heard a voice say to take a "slight left turn" on the highway approach to a town. Left turn. What is a light left turn? When entering the town on a state highway, the Ohrex directed us off of that HW and routed us through a tight residential area. I didn't care for that at all. The clock wouldn't re-set to the correct local time even if I used a different time zone. I don't like to complain, but I wouldn't trust the gps to take me through an unfamiliar metro area. I just ordered a big name gps through Amazon, hoping it will be the same as the older one we can no longer use.

👤This device is used. I didn't know what to think when I ordered it, but once I got it, I was ready to use it. I plugged it into my computer and it said that it needed software updates and map updates that would take 3 hours to complete. I tried to run the updates multiple times but they would freeze up in about 20 minutes. I took a look at the device to make sure it was up to date. The home map of the device was not easy to change. I returned it because of the software/map update freezing. The seller,CTGINC, told me that they found it to be working well and that they would not charge me a restocking fee.

👤The package arrived on time. I tried to download updates, but they froze up. I tried four times, but they could not help me.

👤Can't tell if it's new or refurbished. It worked out fine. It was fully charged. It was updated quickly. I copied all my contacts when I was on my phone. I didn't have to put my destinations in manually because I loaded all my saved destinations from my RV's backup. I wouldn't load destinations from my older nuvi series. All my others show elevation, but not in a sub menu. My older nuvi 2555 did not have a weather radar. There aren't many buttons on the map screen. Everything but back and zoom requires two presses. Go to the menu first and then press un-mute. It's a pain when in traffic. Tell it to shut up or turn it on. The larger screen is nice.

👤The unit worked well and had no problems. The old style ends of theusb cables do not fit the gps Micro ends are needed on both ends. I told the seller that I would not have to send the gps because I already sent the 2 cables back. He wanted pictures and I wanted him to send a return label. Never heard from him again. The rating was 1 star seller. The gps is 5 stars. You will need to purchase a power cord in order to receive traffic updates. I have one. It was around $60 dollars. Should have sent it back to Amazon. I liked the way the gps worked. I only recommend the product. The return was started because the seller wouldn't replace the wrong cable. The seller is not even rated after the cancellation of the return. Dmd.

👤This is my most important companion because I make several road trips every year. It makes it easy to find destinations. It's helpful to know about potential traffic problems and detours. It is easy to use. I have a road atlas with me, as I am old school. Sometimes you need to use common sense and check your destination on a map. I highly recommend this to anyone who travels by car. It helps to find places you don't know about.

👤The big screen is like that. In route mode, the street name is not given before you make a right or left turn. Just turn right - turn left. The street name is displayed at the top of the screen. My others don't have that problem. They mention the street name before turning. Still like the unit.

Pair with your compatible phone to get access to hands-free calling and notifications, and also to have voice-activated navigation for convenience on the road.

Brand: Garmin

👤Did you ever get told to drive down a road that you shouldn't be on, even if you are taller, shorter, or have more hair? This one doesn't do that. Since we had the 785 to try to make sure it wouldn't take us down hazardous roads, low bridges, or into a loop, we have put in many destinations. This one beat some of the websites. We love it. We have confidence in the gps. The camera, lane departure, and collision avoidance are things we look forward to checking the next time. Launching the software for the phone was the only problem we had. The screen was stuck and we called them. The EULA wasn't visible so they told us to reduce the size of the fonts. It worked after that. It uses your contact list to make and receive calls. The mount is strong. We are using a piece of electronics to put on the dash. Plug it in with the cord provided, because that's what it needs for traffic.

👤I have had the RV-785 for less than a week and have not yet used it on a lengthy trip, but I wanted to relay some initial observations after using it around town. I will comment on BaseCamp and our upcoming trip, as well as use it to plan our trip. 1. It seems like trip planning is accurate. I don't have any experience with any other route planning software or a gps device. Once some time was spent figuring out that program'sUI and how to get the completed route into the RV-785, BaseCamp was easier to plan and modify. 2. The dash cam is not as good as I had hoped. The narrow viewing angle is disappointing, but it will probably be ok. The recorded video has a noticeable "jello effect" on it. I'm using a supplied mount that is not really strong enough to reduce the effect. There is a brief break in the video, probably only a frame or two every minute or so. I haven't checked to see if the interval is random or not, but it is noticeable. I haven't tested the camera in low light or night time. 3. When the lane divider is a dashed line or the road is curved, lane departure warnings do not work, although forward collision and lane departure alert work. I will be testing those features more thoroughly on our upcoming trip. 4. It would be nice if links posted in points of interest were active links, opening the web page in the browser, but maybe this criticism should be directed to the POI providers. It would also be a plus if there was an integration with the earth. I plan to keep the device at this point and possibly change the review after our upcoming trip of around 1600 miles. We are not using any of the RV specific functions yet, but will report back with observations if we do.

👤It was reliable and accurate when I used it on a trip across several states with a 5th wheel. Voice recognition makes it easier to input information. The design of this gps is a good one. The window shows which lane to exit from.

Voice activated navigation, smart notifications, and Bluetooth calling. This device is compatible with Windows and Mac OS X. It's built in wi fi for easy map and software updates.

Brand: Garmin

👤Don't buy this product, you will get the shaft twice. The device I received did not charge. It wouldn't work if plugged in. I wanted to swap it for a new one. The seller wants me to pay back the shipping for a bad product. There is an update. I didn't take my own advice. I bought a second one and it stopped working in 4 months. I had the same issue when I first got it. The model is terrible. This model should be embarrassed by the company.

👤I have a second device. I was very happy with the device when I first got it. It has become unreliable after several map and software updates. It will route you through weird loops and ignore obvious routes. It added a 25 - 50 mile loop after one recalculation that was out of the way of the original route. The only way to keep it from doing weird things to the route is to put edit points all along the route. Why don't you have a unit that lets you plot your own route? It does not calculate remaining distance accurately. You will be 11 miles from your next turn and then it will change to 18 miles from your next turn and suddenly show you have 7 miles to go and then switch to showing you have 300 feet to go. Sometimes when you get back on the freeway, you can drive right onto the ramp, but it will want to go across the bridge to the other side, so you have to do a weird U-turn and go back to the freeway. When I first bought it, it wasn't doing this. I felt I could rely on it. I don't trust it and that leads to a problem. Even if it's only a 1 or 2 megabyte download, this device won't let you do updates unless it's connected to a power source. This is ridiculous, what is the point of having internet if you can't download anything? I don't think you need to use the software when you are driving in the real world.

👤There is a curve ahead. The screen will keep telling you that there are lots and lots of them. This would be useful in cars that do not have a mirror, the rest of us can just look ahead and know that all roads are not straight. No? The display will fill with a Can We Find parking screen and it will not go away unless you hit the touch screen and it will come back with each recalculation ensuring you need to take your eyes off the road to address it. Do you like hearing "please drive to the highlighted route" when you start a journey? You can't turn off the curve warnings or parking warnings because you can't turn off this. "When possible, please make a U-turn" will be repeated about every 5 seconds if you want to pull down a side street. Don't bother if you want to take a look at alternative routes if you are driving that winding country road with all the curves and curve warnings. As you zoom out, the map will suppress road views. It will only show the road you are driving in isolated areas. This is what you get after a long time.

👤We just returned from a trip through Canada and the Rockies and it worked out great. Updating a gps right out of the box is the most important thing to know. When you purchase a new or certified unit, it's always back level. Many of the less reviews are due to needing updates. The updates are for more than maps. They are critical for the gps operating systems. There are 9 gps software updates and a huge map update in this one. The keys to success are the updates and not the brand name. Hope this is useful.

👤Previously owned a nvi. When theusb connection died, I had to replace it. I decided to try this model of the gps because I was very satisfied with the Nuvi 40. It is garbage. In more rural places, the drive 51 is often incorrect in telling you when to turn. The unit doesn't identify turns until you are near an intersection. I was constantly sent to unpaved road despite the unit being set to avoid it. The unit makes you drive in a circle before you get to the road you need. The touch screen is too sensitive and you need to head back to the correct screen a lot. You can't just use an old car's oldusb charging point when you need to charge other devices. You need to buy a different device. The garmin unit can't be plugged in until you are in gear, if the lighter sockets is behind the gear shift. They would have designed it to bend at 45 or 90 degrees. Whole towns that appear on printed maps are missing or mis identified. You should have a map with you at all times. It is difficult to change the route with this unit. There are other things that are not nice. If you will be traveling outside of developed areas, look for a different gps device. This unit is more of a hazard than a benefit to me. I don't like this unit.

👤We were quite disappointed when we bought this for my husband. Why was it a good idea to require a smart phone to get traffic updates? If I have to use my smart phone, I might as well use the maps on the internet. The cable to get the traffic updates is $60. I don't think the new and improved unit is a step forward, because my old unit gets traffic and no other app is needed. The traffic cable did not work. The nuvi 3590LMT-S packaging stated that the compatible traffic cable was the GMT 60. The unit in the 3590 box was the model I purchased. You wonder how the unit got in the wrong box, and if someone else's is also mixed up. We have to pay for shipping to return the cable and buy a new one. What a hassle!

👤I have had to go to Canada for a few appointments and this gps saves me a lot of worry. You don't have to pay for extra data to get directions on your phone, this is the gps for you. I had an older model of the device. The older versions ask if you want to turn off the tolls in an options menu. After you put in the address, this model will perform. "Do you want to continue or find an alternative route?" will be the question it will ask. The feature is there.

7. Garmin 780 GPS Navigator Traffic

Garmin 780 GPS Navigator Traffic

The RV and camping enthusiast needs a navigator. RV navigator with high-resolution 6 95” edge-to-edge display. 👤This was what I needed after two nightmare trips up the East Coast of the USA using other map products and even a Truck gps on my phone. This thing is different from everything else I have tried because it allows you to define how much propane you have on board so that it is precise for tunnels. If you use the drive app, the traffic seems to be more accurate. I can't say the unit ever used the built in traffic feature, but it did an excellent job of calculated true time in traffic and actual arrival times. I liked the pictures of the lane and the street signs. I like the driver assistance alert, which is fun when the light is short and you are pulling 13k pounds, and the reminders to turn off propane due to state law. I haven't tried voice recognition yet because it asked me if I wanted to re-route to save 90 minutes when the unit alerted me of a traffic event. I said "yes" and it re-routed my voice. I found the up-ahead feature to be very useful, as it shows gas stations, rest areas and RV parks at every exit up ahead. It made me feel more confident that the truck would make it to the next fuel stop given how much fuel it uses while towing, and it was useful to keep the kids content so they knew when the next bathroom stop was. I can't use software like my built in phone navigation in the future. This is a life saver for an RV. It was well worth the price and saved me a lot of grief on my first road trip. Good job!

👤This is an upgrade from the nuvi 3597LMTHD. I use it to tow a travel trailer and also use it in a high-roof van conversion. The special features for RVs seemed to be a good reason to switch. It was disappointing initially. There are RV specific features and the screen is bigger, but not dual orientation. The user interface seems clumsy compared to the 3597 The internet link is useful, but limited since it only does the ocassional updates. Compatibility with the BaseCamp program is more important to me. I use BaseCamp on my laptop to combine scenic routes, gas stops and friend visits that are not possible with direct navigation. It can be done on the 780, but it's much easier in BaseCamp, where you can sit comfortably with a larger computer screen, access to a search engine and have no battery life limitations. I haven't thought about it yet, but having the link work for everything seems to be a great feature improvement. The RV780 is able to connect to the computer via the mini-usb/usb cable. It works with the Express. Waypoints are recognized by the BaseCamp program and can be transferred. Didn't transfer saved routes. I tried it with internal memory and it works well with the 3597, so I know the file is good. Before purchasing, I checked with Garmin Support and they said that it wouldn't be compatible. The agent I spoke with was knowledgeable. BaseCamp doesn't support the "Propane Tanks" setting in the RV780 vehicle profile, so those have to be deleted on the RV780 for the routes from BaseCamp to load. It's not a fix. The agent said that the propane tank can be re-applied after the routes are loaded. They have known about it since the RV770 does it, but don't have a real solution. The navigation, map, and feature search functions work well despite BaseCamp compatibility. The larger display makes it easier to read the map while driving and the extra resolution makes orientation ok, but the touchscreen seems not to be responsive as the 3597 is. The speaker is loud and clear. The unit is designed to be installed in the vehicle. It takes a counter-intuitive pull on the mount latch to remove it. It was designed to stay on the dash and do as much as possible without a computer. I can see how it's a good idea for a lot of people. I haven't used the app yet. I got a separate gps unit because I'm not dependent on cell phone coverage or data plan charges, but I may experiment and see how useful it is. Back on the road. As I learn more, there will be more updates.

8. Garmin Navigator Display Lifetime Updates

Free lifetime map updates and Live traffic are included with the 5.0” truck navigator. Alert for upcoming Bridge heights, weight limits, and custom truck route for the size and weight of your truck. Truck stops by brand and amenities are included in the truck and trailer services directory. Control dzl with your voice, and enjoy built-in wi-fi and hands-free calling. This device is compatible with Windows and Mac OS X.

Brand: Garmin

👤I dislike this device. Disappointed with the navigation. 1. The designated Class truck routes are not shown. 2. It doesn't show the bridge heights. I need these two items in my gps device. The information is on my maps. The reviews of the gps manufacturers were not as good as the reviews of the other manufacturers, and I believe that the information and technology is not available with any gps manufacturers. The database will be very successful if a product is created with it. The fit and finish is what I like. Thank you, but you are disappointed.

👤The features are great, the display is great, and the main part is great. The navigation on garmins is terrible. It will usually bring you a longer way even with the shortest route applied. In truck mode, even with the size of the vehicle entered, it brings you down a lot of dead end roads. There is no need to purchase a separate unit for the better maps. This may be the case in Maine and New Hampshire, but not in other states.

👤The gps works well. I like that you can set it up for doubles and triples, I also like that it works better with my phone, and that it's easy to use with my phone. So far, it is very accurate.

👤This is a good tool for drivers. I was going to be delayed by 2 hours in Idaho due to construction. I was routed around it. It will warn you about accidents, construction, objects in the road, and other things that have been reported to it. The speed limits in Montana are not correct. It shows 70mph for back highways and 65 for freeways, but it has a state border off by about 4 miles. It needs some map updates. It will show you the weather in your route. A gps is not a rule. Use common sense and always read highway signs.

👤I would like to see a version of the maps for commercial trucks. The only way I could use a gps device was with my phone. The product does not recognize new roads or buildings. There is nothing in the new warehouses according to Garmin. That's where the maps come in. In Phoenix AZ, a new stretch of loop 202 going south is open since December, but not for Garmin. I wanted to get on I55 North from Damen Ave but my new $300 gps said "No trucks", which is not true. The navigation system should be less than $75. It is important for Garmin to keep its maps up to date. I spent $300 and updated my maps to be able to find a warehouse that was built more than a year ago. I'm planning to return the gps because it's not very accurate. I'll check out a Rand Mcnally, hopefully it's better than the other one.

👤This gps has gotten me in trouble with taking me down places. If I worked days I would be screwed at times from using this gps sent me down roads with cars parked on both side in residential areas.

Without a computer, built in wi-fi for map and software updates.

👤I used a cellphone as my primary navigation tool and purchased the DriveSmart 65. The cellphone navigation systems are great, but I didn't like the convenience of the stand-alone units. I didn't like the fact that the navigation apps weren't easy to see when I manually used the phone for a phone call. There are two more Unless you use a different app or download offline maps from the internet, there's no navigation when you don't have cellular coverage. There are 3 more I never found the offline maps to work for me, there was always a problem with resolution that I could not resolve. Offline mode was not always used to work in general. I tried some of the other free offline navigation apps, but they seemed to be behind in updates, and did not seem refined, leaving me with a slight but ever present apprehension in my mind. I didn't like the small screen size when in portrait mode, even though I had an iPhone Plus. There are five The navigation app on my cellphone ran in the background and was not visible to view. I didn't see all of the trip info functions that the vehicle navigators offered. The app navigators had the same trip info, but it was hard to see. The DriveSmart 65 was more expensive than the 55, but the extras screen real estate was worth a few extra dollars for me. It is hardware. The screen is beautiful! Great resolution and bright colors. The brightness is turned up all the way. The 6.9 inch is the perfect size for me since I like to have all of the trip data functions showing on the screen at all times while allowing for ample space for the map/ navigation which is the most important part. The screen seems to be made of glass, but I am not sure if it is scratch resistant. The frame has a minimal amount of bezel which adds to visual appeal but makes accidental touches easy when trying to adjust the postition/angle of the unit on the mount. The screen is responsive to touch and there is little lag navigating through the menus, as it should be for a device at this price point. The speaker is loud and clear. I don't know what processor is in the unit, but I hope it is an upgrade from last year's model. It is smart to get the best hardware within your means, especially if you plan on keeping the device for several years, to ensure it will be able to effectively run the software updates. I don't like the way the power cord plugs into the back of the device. It would be great if it was plugged into the side or bottom, because it would be easier to mount the device on a desk if the power cord was not sticking out. The mount is standard and works well for mounting on a window, but I have seen it fall off of a vehicle. I bought a friction dash mount from Garmin because it seems to work well for now. I can't state my findings because I haven't had the battery disconnected from a power source for that long. It is very easy to use the software. It seems that the years of production have allowed time for most bugs to be worked out. The high detail map option provides a lot of detail and is helpful in keeping the user oriented from a geographical perspective. When you zoom out with the intent to use it indefinitely, the unit will automatically zoom you back in to the default setting, even though it does not really want you to have full reign on the map. You can have phone notifications for email/text/etc to show on the unit if you sync your phone to it. The option to make and receive phone calls when you sync the device to your phone is available for those that may need it. The unit has the ability to update maps without a computer. After attempting to update the maps 4 times, I got error code each time and the device aborted the process. Maybe it is because my internet connection is not high-speed. It will be great to see if there is a similar issue among other people. The maps will have to be updated with a PC. Conclusions: The device performs well as expected. Excellent native route planning and accurate navigation. The screen is bright and high resolution. It's right in the sweet spot. I am not convinced that the features this unit offers are practical enough to justify the higher price. If the processor is better than last year's model, this is a good value. It was a factual decision. I don't have to use my phone as my main navigation when I have a stand-alone navigator. Happy with the purchase, even though I mentioned some things. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a navigator.

👤The voice command capabilities of this particular gps were purchased by me. Everything was fine until the first update. We would get error messages when we tried to do things. I tried to do the updates again. I was dismayed when I saw the same complaints over and over again. I tried some of the suggested solutions, such as hard reset, re-installing language files, and ensuring text and voice languages were compatible. Nothing worked. I contacted a company. The agent told me that the only way to fix it was to buy a blank card and install the maps again. This is a well-known, documented issue, and I find that unacceptable. Even though it knows that devices will fail, it continues to sell them. It expects you to spend more money to fix it. Really? I think it's a rather unethical business practice. As a buyer beware, I'm putting this review out there. As soon as you perform your first update, this device will fail. Definitely not. Don't expect your satisfaction to be taken seriously by the company. You should be prepared to purchase an SD card.

👤The description said that it already came with international and europe maps. It couldn't get a signal when I set it up in my car at the airport in Italy. I had a car rental with a built in gps system that I used to use, and it never got a signal anywhere I went. This was a deceptive attempt to market it with built-in maps. This marketplace has low grade products for sale. I need info on how to contact the manufacturer. You lose credibility when you don't work on your customers' behalf.

👤I have been using this gps for over a year and have come to depend on its amazing features. It has a graphical representation of the road with arrows that show exactly which lane to be in and how to maneuver during tricky exits. It displays speed limits, but it always lists school zones as 20 mph even when school is not in session. The device also tells you how close to a turn you are, and what to look for, such as "Turn right after the McDonalds." The routes that it chooses are almost always the fastest, but it can get confused by recent construction. The internal storage of the gps is small enough to hold only a small amount of new maps for the 50 US states. It is still inconvenient even though these sections are large.

👤I love garmin nuvi. They have the best gps mapping system. After getting a vehicle with a gps system, it would take longer routes and different routes than the garmin nuvi would take. I said I was getting a new garmin nuvi because I couldn't stand it. It's funny. I start seeing where the system is not working when I run them together. I feel like I can count on my garmin nuvi when I'm traveling. I know a lot of people who like the garmin nuvi more than the gps systems. The screen is large and easy to use, it shows you the road you are on, and it is easy to figure out where to turn. It was a really difficult area for me to navigate. It also takes into account where you are turning better than my gps. It comes with free lifetime maps, which is an added bonus. It is a shame that this brand was not built into my car.

👤I use my gps a lot. I replaced my 10 year old gps from the other major brand with the top-of-the-line gps from TomTom. In 3D view, roads had the same color, not differentiating between dirt and interstates. I saved hundreds of my stops in the previous gps, so I rely on that. It was difficult to save a location in the device. The idea of the agenda on the phone was great. It is difficult to connect through the Internet of Things. After a few days of confusion, the other major brand replaced the old TomTom with the new top-of-the-line gps.

👤I'm one of those people who don't like to use their phone to navigate. I don't want my navigator talking into the same speaker as Rslash, so I always have music or podcasts on in the car. It's hard to hear. I like having a dedicated gps with a speaker. I had a navigation device for a long time. I got this thing when I got my first car. The garmin lived a long, happy life until this winter and I only ever had one complaint about it, which was that it didn't have handsfree voice control. If I had to change a route, I would either have to risk an accident or pull over. A lot of these units come with voice control. Most of them are expensive. Tom wasn't. There is a reason for that. Look at the quirky gps peripheral units. They have always been. They probably will be. I'm pretty tolerant of their random quirks, but the "quirks" I've experienced from this idiotic bot and her clueless engineering team make this product nowhere near production-ready. It is almost laughable. It would be if I didn't have a missile at the same time. Such gems are included in Tom Tom's "Quirks". It doesn't understand what I'm saying. I've had the best luck with programming addresses in, giving her very simple names, and telling her to take me to the simple names. This works about half the time. 2. It knows what to do. No alternate version of those commands will ever be said. She won't know what you're talking about if she listens to "End Voice Instructions" and you say "Stop navigation" 3. There's no easy way to stop something from moving. I had to turn off the navigation. You have to dig around. You can turn voice instructions off, but she keeps going. After you get there, on your next drive. Also, etc. She's telling you you're going the wrong way until you figure out how to turn it off. It will be forever. I realize that putting a "stop navigating" button on the actual navigation screen isn't an intuitive feature. Why not try my crazy idea? 4. It might be a setting, but I don't know what time it is. There is no clock on the screen. What is that thing? I've done a lot of long haul driving. I want to know when I cross time zones without having to look at multiple screens. I asked her what time it was a couple of times, but she just said "Sorry, I don't understand", I'm not sure why I expected her to know... At this point, we have a navigation screen with no stop button, no time display, and a navigator who is just as useless as the dumb kid who eats paste. 5. This is where it gets really dangerous. She doesn't respect route preferences or avoidances. At the very least. I can't drive after dark. I can't see in the dark. I avoid the highway for shorter trips because I see double when I look over my left shoulder, which makes merging a question of mirrors. I have only one option, to avoid freeways. When I need it on, I set that to on. I don't use the fastest route and this idiotic thing has taken me on highways to find the fastest route. Sometimes she forgets she needs to avoid highways and puts me on a highway. The avoidance is still selected at the end of the trip. Again. A kid eats paste. Sensitivity and accuracy are acceptable. I gave it half of the star. Have you ever been in a car with a cranky senior citizen who has no idea how to get anywhere and can't hear anything you're screaming in their ear, and you're riding shotgun and doing the navigating? The Tom Tom Go experience is here. Listen, guys. Voice control is important if you want voice control.
