👤If you enjoy being on hold while waiting to talk to someone, then buy this if you love having to make immediate trips to your local hardware store, spending Saturdays working on a project that you've already worked on and know that any results of your labor will likely be lost within a few I wasted a lot of time and money trying to make this system work, and I am so frustrated that I am not going to do anything else. There is a background. I grew up in the house we live in. An invisible fence was installed by a local company when we were young. It worked well for over 15 years. There were occasional breaks when we would dig a hole or aerate the yard. Those were easy to fix. No "partial break" issues. I can't find the collar from the old system when we get a dog. I decided to give it a try because buying a new collar was more expensive than the whole PetSafe system. It worked well for about 6 months, then we started having issues with the loop light going off. Sometimes it would turn back to normal by itself. I would turn off the power occasionally. It would work again. Sometimes I would have to plug in the "Break Locator" and after that it wouldn't work again, but only for a while. A new transmitter has been received. For a few months, I worked. Same issues as before. PetSafe told me that it must be a partial break again. There was no way to see any breaks because the wire was buried. PetSafe's break could not pick up any breaks. The signal was strong around the whole loop. I replaced the wire in our yard. I pulled up the old sections. We got a 3rd transmitter in January. The random beeping started last week. I came home and it was loud. I switched the power on/off for the first time. But again, it was beeped. The person on the phone with PetSafe still thinks it's a partial break. We haven't worked on the yard. I don't understand how a wire can break randomly in 3 months. It could be that the wire is wrapped too tight or not tight enough. Really? Why would it work for 3 months and then go out? I don't have anything left to deal with this. I'm looking for an alternative and would love a recommendation.

👤It worked well for the first week. Our dog ran and walked through it without being shocked. Everything was set up without a shock or a beep. It was too unreliable and disappointing.

👤Have a dog. Doesn't work with him. He doesn't care about the shock at level 5. He ignores it after it worked for 1/2 a day.

👤I bought this in June. The battery connections are not the same. The things should last more than 4 months with what they cost.

👤I paid $80 for a collar that didn't have a battery, but I haven't used it yet.

👤I liked it at first. I tried to charge it but it wouldn't charge. It stopped working in August. We only had it for about a month, but now it's pass the return date that's great! I am not happy about this. That was a waste of money. The Company reached out to me and asked what they could do to make it better. I told them to either send me a new one or refund my money. They sent me a new one and it has been working ever since. I got a new one because I was not happy that the product stopped working a month in. The company sent me a new one. The product and customer service are both good.

👤I bought this to teach my Rottweiler to not chase chickens, horses or my husband's tractor. They are very strong willed if you know anything about them. I had to move to the shock after I started with the vibrate. I was concerned about using the shock button, but I read that it did not harm the dog. I asked a neighbor as well. I am very pleased with the results. All I have to do is say no and he will come and sit by me. I would reward you pup when he/she obeys, and follow the training recommendations.

👤The collar held up well. The buckle broke after being abused by my dog. It was an excellent collar for the price. I bought another collar from the same manufacturer that I used around the house, yard, and park, so I could reduce the wear and tear on my $800 collar. I have only been using this for two days, so I'm not sure if it's durable. I know that the stimulation is not a continuous tingle or sting, but a gradual decrease in the pressure on the button. It's a series of sharper zaps that repeat when the button is held down. It's not necessarily bad, but it's not the same as a continuous tingle. The lowest setting of 1 gets a stronger reaction from the dog. I prefer a mild, continuous tingle to remind the dog that he is doing wrong, but not enough to get him to run back to me. 2] The mode is tied to the setting. When you use that button, the collar will vibrate longer if the shock setting is higher. My dog doesn't notice it on the 1 setting. 3 The Beep works great in wind and noise. I use this instead of voice commands. The collar has a good battery life. Going on the second day. It feels sturdy, but the receiver doesn't attach to the collar in the same way as a watch, so if the collar breaks, you're out of business. 5] The range seems good. I only used it for about 200 yards, but it was rock solid.

👤This has worked so well as a training tool that I was able to break my dog's aggressiveness towards the neighbors by using this. She used to run up to the fence aggressively and then act like she was having a real fit. She wouldn't stop the behavior until I walked all the way to where she was. She just ignores them after a few days of using this reinforcement tool. I only had to use the shock option twice, I start with the voice command and if she ignores it, use the beep. I hit the vibrate button if she ignores the beep. Since the first week of training, I have not used the shock. I would recommend this to anyone who is having trouble getting their dog to obey commands when they are not on a leash. She didn't have to listen because she felt like she was out of reach. This has helped me correct something.

👤A 50 pound pit/Shepard/Heinz dog that was a rescue from the city loves to explore and run. We live in the woods and he has a lot of room to roam. He wanders to far at times and is a bother to his neighbors. We were afraid of installing an underground fence, but felt we had to do something else. We bought the supplies for the underground 1500' fence on Amazon after coming up with a plan. The late spring weather did not allow us to bury the fence kit. I was worried that it would not work out for us. A friend of mine told me that his friend had bought a dogtra collar and was very happy with it. I decided to send the underground stuff back to Amazon after a few hours of research. The path of the underground fence was going to cost more to install than the Dogtra collar. I had a good idea how to use the product after watching several videos on the internet. "Brock" was already familiar with wearing a training collar, but the cheaper collar only worked in a close proximity so when he got out of sight he knew it." He is a very stubborn dog and has no fear of anything. He knows when the collar is on when he gets a tiny bit of juice. We let him outside to test drive the new collar after we setup it. I set up the area around a year ago. The lines are close to the neighbors to the west and east and parallel to the road. We watched his live path as he traveled around and the maps on the internet are amazing. I got an alert on the phone and yelled at him to retreat when he got close to the fence. Brock knows what will come after the beep if he is still wrong. The neighbors to the east are ok with him playing with their dogs. We had to keep him home. He went out of the fence last night. I can see that and call him back. I gave him a mild tickle after he ignored the call, but he came back on a dead run. We work with him every day and the training gets better. The unit is a great alternative to underground fence. The long range is up to 9 miles. The unit will perform well within a couple miles of our woods, but I don't expect that. The app and collar work perfectly with no issues found as of yet and would recommend searching out videos on the internet to learn more.

👤If you're like me, you might be wondering if this collar could possibly be worth $400, and if it works for all that. I am here to tell you that it is worth it. Every time. A penny. I have a German Shorthair Pointer that I want to be able to find when I'm working, but I also want him to be able to wander my fields without being seen, and have the peace of mind that he wasn't going onto roads or other people's property The range works exactly as advertised, the battery life is great, and the shock delivery works from miles away. Everything works offline when I'm out of range of cell service. This collar has made it possible for me to be in my house and not worry about what my son is doing. It was just brilliant. I wish I'd gotten the collar sooner. There are a few notes. The dog statuses can be a little oversensitive, as I have found that 20%- 30% of the alerts for 'pointing' and 'treed' have been inaccurate while directly observing Jeager. I've learned to look for "clusters" of status alert to let me know if he's really located something. 2. This is a sophisticated set-up but as long as you skim the manual, it's pretty easy to use. Don't be a moron like me and throw the manual away because you don't like getting snowed with papers every time you buy something. 3. The "geo-fence" feature can't shock or play a tone when the dog leaves, but you can get an alert if the dog leaves. This has been perfect for me. If you want to teach your dog where the new boundaries are, take your dog for a walk around the perimeters of your fence. If he breaks the boundary, I keep my phone handy and send a push notification.

Brand: Petsafe

👤The Petsafe Wireless Containment System has been with us for two years. It was purchased on Amazon. We followed the directions as we trained our German Shepherd. Things worked well at first. Our dog knew where she was. The system worked when it was needed, and our dog knew to run back to the house when she went too far. The system became more and more inconsistent as time went on. Consistency is important for German Shepherds. The system would start to shock her when she was inside her zone. Sometimes the system wouldn't shock her when she went beyond her boundary. We tried plugging the transmitter back in. We changed her batteries. We tried to make her circle smaller. It would go back to its old ways eventually. The last straw was today. A man and his dog walked by as I was outside with our German Shepherd. My dog ran to the other dog because the system has been so inconsistent recently. I was able to call her back right away, but I could tell the other dog owner was a little scared. I don't blame him. My dog should have stayed indoors. The system did not work. The collar started zapping my dog as I brought her into the house, safely within the containment system. She is terrified to go into our kitchen and back door after she freaked out. I'm done with this product. I can't recommend it because it works for people who love their pet. It can cause more damage than good. I would like it to work. I wish it fulfilled its promise. I paid for something and wish I got it. I have a dog who gets shocked inside the house, but is safe inside her circle and doesn't get shocked when she goes outside.

👤I followed all the directions to the letter. There are no large metal objects interfering with the transmission at our property. We don't relax when we let her out because there is no signal in certain areas, so we watch her constantly. This is against the purpose. She jumped high in the air when she reached the perimeter when I put it on the lowest setting. It was pretty brutal, I tested it on myself. I wish I could send this back, but first of all, they packaged it so you have to destroy the box to open it. Since we were very motivated to make this work, we hung in there trying different locations and settings, but it is past the return date. If you're lucky enough to get a functioning unit, this is a good price.

👤This thing is priceless to me, and I wish I had known that there was a wireless fence system that you didn't have to tear up your yard to use, because it could have saved me and my family from some serious heartbreak. We had two husky babies that we adopted from our local shelters and one of them was a wanderer, the other was a 6 month old male. One day he was outside playing with my husband and kids while they were washing the car and was killed by a truck not more than 100 yards from our house. I cried and my kids cried. It was one of my favorite purchases I've ever made for our family members, and I invested in it literally the next day. You can set the range to fit your yard and keep your family safe. My husky is a stubborn girl and it only took 2 times to shock her into realizing she didn't like that one bit. It felt like a shock when I tested it on myself. My girl has long hair and it just annoyed her more than anything. It was effective and did its job perfectly. She's not afraid to leave the yard on a leash, she knows if my husband or I are going to take her out of the yard, her collar is off. She's allowed to cross the boundary for a walk. Love it. It took about 15 minutes to set the entire thing up and 3 days for my dog to be completely trained, I wish I had heard of it sooner. I said it was a lifesaver.

Brand: Bousnic

👤It can be difficult to walk 3 dogs by yourself. I use the collar to make sure my dogs are on walks. This is a product that does what it says on the tin. The set is well made and sturdy. The remote is easy to use and I like the wrist strap. You don't always have to hold it. The buttons for shock, vibrate, and beep are labeled with pictures that show which button does what. The screen is easy to understand. The function buttons are separate, unlike other training collars where you only have one button to use. The dog you are currently on is displayed on the screen with a button between dog1 and dog2. One collar strap is yellow while the other is black, so you can tell which dog is wearing which. The push of the button on the collar on the first try was the only way to pair the collars. The remote and the collar have held their charge for over two weeks without charging again. I turn the collar off between uses and the remote off when no buttons are pressed. There are no batteries and no need for two separate chargers, which is great because the remote and collar can be plugged in with the same one. The product works as they say it will, thanks to the instructions. Extra instructions with pictures were included that were helpful and I appreciated that. The shock and vibrate functions can be adjusted separately. The vibrate function can be adjusted from 1 to 12. The shock has 12 levels from a light static shock to a huge painful zap. I tried the shock on myself on level 1 and I wouldn't put my dog through anything I couldn't handle. It works and it doesn't hurt. It's similar to when you drag your feet on the carpet and then touch a metal door and get a shock. It's not pleasant, but it's not painful. You can use the tester in the set to test the shock. The tester light will come on if the electricity is coming from the prongs on the collar. One of my dogs instantly responds to the sound of the heels and the sound of the beep. She responded with a yip to the first shock and never needed it again. My other dog is a bit more stubborn than the other one. He didn't respond to the shock until I got to level 5. It probably takes more to get through his thick fur after a level 5 shock. The instructions say to set the shock at the lowest level so that the dog will respond. The push of a button on the remote switches between dogs and always saves the setting levels. I haven't tried it far away, but it works every time. You can change the prongs on the collars. They screw on and off. These are the prongs that come into contact with your dog's neck, short or long haired. It came with rubber covers for each set of prongs to keep the metal from rubbing against my dogs neck. I think the circle on the front of the receiver collar looks great and holds the fabric of the collar firmly to the receiver. The collar strap doesn't have to be taken off to charge the collars, which is great. The red or green light on the collar receiver tells you if they are on or off. I had a hard time thinking of anything bad about this set, but one area that could be improved upon is the fact that you cannot plug in both of the collars at the same time, you have to use the included charging cable. It would be great to have a third splitter on the cable so that all 3 could be plugged in at the same time. Since the batteries last so long, it's not a big deal. The training set is affordable for owners of 2 dogs. I think it's a good idea.

Brand: My Pet Command

👤I live on a farm with animals. I used to have a border collie who was great with herding livestock and I didn't have to do anything to train her. I got a labrador retriever and thought I could use her for hunting and livestock. She was hard to train and was very high energy. She was all over the place. I kept her under control with this collar. She comes running home when I press one button. I used to have to listen for her bark to find her at night, the beacon light is awesome. I can now see where she is at night time, and I can sit on my porch to see it. She loves chasing ducks on the pond, and has worn this collar several times in the water, and it is still working great. It has been a great tool and seems to be very comfortable on my dog.

👤There are different types of training collars. All were bought from Amazon. We took them out and tested them side by side. The collar was the winner. By twice. It was the only collar that gave us some contact. The other three collar all lost contact in a big road dip, but this collar kept contact so it was a bonus. MyPet seems to be working on building better products and improving the product options as opposed to just buying stuff and selling it on Amazon. The remote is hanging around my neck. It is difficult to lose the remote as I have with other collars. The remote seems waterproof and is a bonus over some of my other collars. It is recommended.

👤I adopted a dog last year. I tried different kinds of leashes and collar as recommended by dog trainers. My dog is still pulling despite the training. It is understandable that he is young and high energy. I decided to get a collar that would hold the leash and it made a difference. I wanted to train my dog to go off-leash so that I wouldn't worry about him running away. My dog is very social and likes to french-kiss everyone. He wouldn't come back to me when I tried off-leash at a park. I looked into e-collars again after a friend recommended them. I compared several e-collars in different price ranges on Amazon. I used Fakespot to make a decision. I decided on the e-collar set because of the distance. When there were cheaper e-collars, I went for it, even though I was worried about spending $120 on an e-collar. The manual was a bit confusing for me when I received the e-collar set. The devices were charged for 3-6 hours. I got the hang of it after a few days. The lowest setting has been used so far. I tried the "shock" on myself first so that I know what it feels like before I try on my dog. It felt like a strong shock but it didn't hurt me. The modes are beep, vibration, and shock. You can change the levels of strength, which are 1-10, 1 being the lowest and 10 the strongest. I broke down the instructions in a way that was easy to understand. I only have one dog, so I only use "A." Hopefully this helps. To adjust the strength, press the + or - button first to the desired level, and then press either the bell icon or the shock icon, I only use the button with single lightning bolt. Press A once to flash the light of the e-collar. Press and hold A for a few seconds until the e-collar starts flashing. It is not very bright. It's something. It's useful in the dark. I looped the excess collar back to the buckle to not have to cut it off. After you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy to use. There are different settings and levels. Up to 3 dogs can be used with remote. The extra e-collars have to be separately obtained. The light will flash green when charging, so it's convenient to use. There is peace of mind for off-leash training. It works for me. My dog has been good to not run off. I am still training him in a less distraction environment. The charging ports are covered in rubber. The rubber pieces don't stay in place after the cable is plugged in, which makes the devices vulnerable to liquid damage. The rubber pieces of the e-collar are pretty flimsy and water may get into the charging port areas. I would like to see the battery percentage or power. The lanyard for the remote is very flimsy. The little hole in the remote is small. I would like it to be bigger so that a thicker string can fit through it. The manual was confusing. I only press the buttons if my dog doesn't listen. He's been great so far. I haven't had to use it a lot, but it definitely gives me peace of mind to have the e-collar on him whenever we go out for a walk, visit stores, or go to events just in case. I would run and test if my dog would chase me. It helps with the off-leash training for me. It is up to you, your dog, your patience, the amount of time you have for training, and how often you enforce the trainings, even if some people and some professional dog trainers advise against e-collars. If you want to know what the e-collar feels like, try it on yourself first, and don't abuse your dog with shocks. I haven't tried the e-collar/remote for the entire 1.25 miles yet, but I plan to once this COVID-19 pandemic ends. My dog and I miss the open fields and dog parks. Stay safe!

👤Absolutely garbage. Do not get what you want. It doesn't work if your dog is more than 20 feet away. The battery life on both devices isn't important. When the beeping does not register, it is delayed for 3-4 seconds so it isn't very effective. The shock works twice in a battery cycle when it wants to. I went to Walmart and got a $30 cheaper price than the dirt one, and it was better than this one. Do not take up your time or money.

👤Even though I can see some improvements that could be made, it works well for the price and I shared that with manufacturers. We live on almost 2 acres and I was able to get it to cover our property and the surrounding woods. I like to keep the collar loose and allow the dog to just hear and feel, as I think shock level 1 is too strong. The signal is affected by walls hills but the bottom line is it still works and creates a boundary. It takes a lot of walking and listening for beep to figure out what setting works for your property, but once you get it figured out it serves its purpose well! I think it's a good training collar, but there's room for improvement. It is definitely worth the cost compared to similar products.

👤It vibrates but doesn't shock. My dog keeps running until it gets out of range. Will return the item.

👤The wireless fence was not perfect. The collar would stop working. Even though he was standing next to the transmitter, my dog got shocked. Absolutely ridiculous that they would sell something that was so dangerous. Would not recommend.

👤This invisible fence and dog training collar is something I am very happy to have. I was attracted by the fact that it could be hung on the wall of our house or placed on the desk. The wireless system is using a better signal than the WIFI signal. When I hang the transmitter inside my house, the signal is still very strong and can penetrate through the walls, even though the seller told us that it is better to use an open area. It's very easy to set up, just test the range and put the collar on the dog. The Western Highland dog that we have is 2 years old and has learned to stay in her safety area instead of running outside on the road. The customer services advised me to loosen the collar to avoid my dog being shocked. She will run back when she hears the beeps. When my dog is playing outside, she seems to enjoy a new freedom and peace of mind. Our dog wears the collar all day long and we charge it once a week, it is good because it is a good size for different dogs. When the battery of the transmitter box is running out, the receiver collar will sound. It could be charged while using. The system has everything we could have hoped for and we love it. Plug in and press the button to change the size of the range, this product doesn't need installation, digging, or buried lines in the ground. If you register your product by email, it will be extended to two years. Highly recommended!

👤I tried to like this product because I needed it, my dogs chase vehicles and go into other peoples yards. I want them to stay here. It was nice to hear that it set up a wireless fence, but it was also a remote and you could change it back and forth. The wireless fence would allow me to leave them outside while I was not at home and they would stay in the yard. The first setting is supposed to be at least 30 feet and it wouldn't let them go past 5 feet without being yelled at. I tried to turn up the setting to see if I could make it a further distance. I tried to change the distance but they stayed the same spot. I would have to turn it off if they were walking next to me because I wanted my dog to be able to see me. I hated it because I had to hurry up and get it turned off before it started shocking them. I had the remote above the ground and followed all the directions. It would not be a good idea.

👤My dog was saved by a collar. I tried to call my dog into the house after a black bear came into our yard. The bear passed us as we ran to the door and my dog chased it. She only wanted the bear, I couldn't call her back. The only thing that stopped her from getting tangled with the Maine black bear was the collar. I took a picture of the bear on my camera. You just need to turn the collar on to connect it and the battery will last a long time. Before using, read the directions and test them. I didn't like the way my dog was treated and now we are both happy and playing in the yard that is her own. She wouldn't come in the house when she was called, so I lowered the perimeter and she came in once it woke up. The neighbor is not showing up with his dog anymore because of the training device. I had to write a review after the bear incident. I took her to my parents beach. I was able to plug the base in so she could swim and play around it. She couldn't go up on the busy street by the house. I took the dog and collar to a friend's house. The collar needs to be reset next to the base. The dogs can play on the same signal if you go.

👤Two years have passed since we got the pet system, and both of our dogs are breaking through the perimeter. We had purchased the PetSafe Stay & Play Wireless Fence for Stubborn Dogs Collar and we fully charged the collar, and I walked up to the perimeter and it told me it was working. My neighbor told me that our dog was hit by a truck and died in the road. My dog died because of a false advertisement.

👤The Giant Schnauzer has the same energy level as the Tasmanian devil and is like the size of a horse. I had to spend the money on this collar after having multiple encounters with our neighbors from her roaming through their garden and playing with their chickens. It was our final option. I wish I would have done it sooner. I started training her for 30 minutes a day. She was on a leash when she wasn't training so she couldn't run outside. I started out with the beeping tone and it didn't seem to bother her. After working with her, I turned the shock level to 2 and then 3. I found that level 4 was perfect for her since she is so stubborn and large. I didn't have to go any higher. She ran back to the house after going past the perimeter a few times. She did not like it. She is acting better now that she won't go close anymore. She is listening and respecting our commands. Positive enforcement is a must while training. No more tension with neighbors and no more stress.

11. KoolKani Training Underground Electronic Containment

KoolKani Training Underground Electronic Containment

500 feet of boundary wire was included. 5 more wire can be added to the yard. Leave your dog inside the fencing zone without taking off his collar if you want to train him with the remote. It's a great collar for tough tasks for indoor and outdoor sports. Add as many collar as you want. Up to 3 dogs can be remotely controlled. It's a great collar for tough tasks for indoor and outdoor sports.

Brand: Koolkani

👤The seller is incredible, I ordered it Saturday night and received it the following Monday, 1.5 days later, impressive! I have had a Pet Is Safe system for 6 years, but it has been discontinued and a plastic collar needs to be replaced, so I am replacing it with a new system. I went to a big box to buy a large amount of 14 gauge. I wanted to mess with it once because the job is hard. I would never install a 23 gauge because of the difference in cost between 14 gauge and 23 gauge. I don't know what I would use the 23 gauge for. I am okay with KoolKani doing this, just be careful when comparing prices and choose the wire you will use. The manual states that the power adapter should be plugged into a standard 240-volt household outlet. A standard household outlet in the US is 120. The plug is standard and won't fit into a 240v receptacle, I assume a mistake, and the back of the transmitter says "Input:12V DC", however the power adapter that supplies DC to the transmitter states that I'm not an electrician but it seems like the power adapter is delivering more power than the transmitter can handle. The transmitter was dead on arrival, it did not power on when the power supply was attached. There are four There is no website, phone number or access to customer service in the box. I will update my review with a working system after I get my replacement unit from Amazon. I should be able to update by the end of the week.

👤I am satisfied with the collars, especially for the price. We have used ecollars in the past with a previous Lab, and she did great with the collar, it was very easy to use. My dogs are just starting to be trained on leash, and the system has been easy to install, with the outer boundary wire. The older one does well and recognizes the tone right away, and the younger still has a way to go, but that is expected. She is still young. The ability to control the systems use of tone/vibration range with one setting is amazing. I am happy that I can turn the shock range off and only use the tone/vibration. The ability to turn it off during the training period is great because I want to start training them both, but didn't want to be confusing or over stimulating her. I only have a few minor annoyances that are related to how the remote works. It's very difficult to choose between vibration or tone or shock signal type and which dog you want to stimulation, and then hit the transmit button. I have buzzed the wrong pup or used the wrong tone. It would be nicer if you chose a dog, then hit the button for tone and shock. It would be great if there was an option to transmit to both dogs at the same time. You have to choose one to transmit, wait for it to finish, switch dogs, and transmit that signal. When they run at the same time it is chaotic and only one at a time can bring them back. It would be great if the third slot on the remote could be set to hit both collars at the same time. The intensity levels consist of a combination of the duration and intensity. The stimulation length is based on how long I press the button. This is how my system worked before. The pups would often be back on focus after a quick tap. A longer press would keep stimulating until they shook off the distraction and resumed following commands. The unit only has the ability to pick a length of time based on an intensity choice and it's nearly impossible to switch intensities in the field since you have to be sure your dog is the right one. The remote is consumed completely and you can not change dogs, types of stim or intensity. A second to two second delay between being able to send commands and being able to do so. A couple seconds is an eternity of troublemaking opportunity for any dog. The collar itself is hard to get on and off, which is one of the minor irritants common to all ecollars. A quick release collar would be nice. I am sure that would add cost. A general issue that makes it harder to put the collar on right consistently is not a ding against this collar. As I learn more, I will update. I will give it time to see if I can overcome the limitations that I have noted, so that I can use one system for two dogs.
