👤The screen on the RV770 fell off when we traveled across the country. The display would fall off if the mount was not holding it. I thought I would have to glue the ball mount to the bean bag mount. I was surprised that it was hard to get the ball in and then a very secure connection. I'm happy to be here for the rest of the trip. If you have a gps that can come off and you have the original brackets, these are awesome.

👤It's a shame that this isn't an own part anymore. This part isn't quite right. It's difficult to fit it on the ball because it's too small. I had to use oil to get it on and force it so hard that the metal ring came out. The gps does not "snap" on after all that.

👤This is a good value for the money, even though it is not a genuine part. If you are willing to do a little sanding or filing, it will work. It's not as polished as the original. It has some ruff edges. It took less than five minutes to clean it up so it wasn't tight to fit. I don't think the part is worth twice the price. I prefer the older mounts but they don't work with the new gps design. I'm guessing these won't last more than 3 years. When I need more, I will buy again. They arrived a few days after the order was placed. I can use my gps right away. Thanks.

👤The product is similar to the original one. I have not been able to use it yet because I need a piece of furniture. Prime shipping has no guarantee. The product I ordered and the one I received were supposed to have 2 days. I'm still waiting for the piece to arrive, it took 10 days. This is an issue with Amazon. I choose a vendor on prime who claims 2 days when I need something quickly and often pay more for it. If not shipped, Amazon should back their guarantee with something more. I'm buying more from Ebay because of this.

👤Quality is the reason why these are returned. The gps ball mount has a spring that tries to pop out. The tab that slides into the gps at the top is cast too thick and does not fit into the gps without being forced. I still have a part that works, but these are a flop because I ordered the real part at the same time. I can see using a $3 and having to force it together and break a $400 gps, no thanks.

👤It popped off when I tried to keep it on the back of the unit. I was going to break the unit if it stayed on because I wanted to get it on the ball. Got them today and will return them tomorrow.

👤I wonder if there is a place where Chinese cheap generic parts manufacturers can find good quality parts, if they want them really cheap. The part doesn't fit on the original hook. It looks like it will break into pieces the first time you open it. I am sending it back from where it came from.

2. Charger Adapter Replacement Vehicle Traffic

This cable is power only and does not include traffic updates. You can charge your device while using the navigator. Full-speed charging is provided by the output usb charging. DC 12V and DC 5V-3.1A are used. The cable is long enough to ensure that you can connect your device quickly. 👤This item makes my drive drop into PC sync mode whenever it powers on. It started doing this about a week ago. If you sit it to hit cancel, you won't be able to use the garmin for navigation. The weak design of the outlet causes it to push itself out of the sockets. They should have used the rubber grommet at the tip to hold it in the receptacle sockets. The spring pressure is against its function.

👤I bought this to make my job easier. I keep my phone on the side window, my gps on the dash, and I want them to stay charged, especially the gps which has a short battery life. The small size is very nice. I was pleasantly surprised when my phone started charging right away. This worked because my phone seems to be picky about cords. I plugged in the device and it didn't work. I gave up and ran some things after a couple of heavy sighs. When I got out of the store, I started the car and the gps device woke up. It worked. I thought so. After about five seconds, the gps tells me the charging point is not working. BAH! I will return it.

👤When I use this charger, it works to charge my device, but it won't work for traffic information, and I get a message saying that it's not an authentic device, and that it's not a good idea to use it for traffic information. I stopped using this charging cable because the Garmin can access traffic information. It's unfortunate because it has the two ports that I like. I need the traffic information for my commute.

👤I gave this a try and it works just fine after many failed attempts to find a charge for my Drive Smart 61. The 90 degree angle does not interfere with my dashboard mount. My original DriveSmart cord didn't give traffic. I can use this device to charge my phone and get better traffic conditions. It doesn't enter into data transfer mode every time I plug it in, and the display is not dim like data cords are. I have only had it for a couple of weeks but it is so far so good that I cannot vouch for its longevity.

👤Leaving the cable behind and having one ready to use in the other car is important when I move from one car to another. I can plug it into the "lighter" sockets and add a phone and computer charge into the same array because it has two USP ports built in.

👤I wish I had found this sooner, I use a garmin nuvi 580 LmT -S trucker gps, and I can charge my phone and trucker headset, and it works great with my tractor trailer.

👤The cord won't charge my device. It is nice that it has two ports. If you don't want to be able to charge your device, it's a decent buy.

👤It doesn't support traffic reports so everything works fine. I have to keep my garmin connected to the power.

3. Carrying Drivesmart Driveassist Driveluxe Accessory

Carrying Drivesmart Driveassist Driveluxe Accessory

The Hard Clam Shell Carry Case is made of hard shell. The box style shell case is shockproof. The straps hold the Sat Nav. The soft cover folds over the screen to protect it. It's compatible for 5assist' Drive 51, Drivesmart 51, Drive 51, and Drive 51 50. Driveluxe 52 52LMT-S 51LMT-S 50 40 Zumo XT . Nuvi 57 is five inches. The case's dimensions are 7.3 x 5.1 x 2.5 inches.

Brand: Digicharge

👤I had the device in one case and the charging/power cord and window mount in another. The case allows me to have all three pieces in one case. It's a convenience for me when I travel because I don't have to keep track of the car. The case could be a little bit deeper when closed because the diameter of the cup slightly changes the case's shape.

👤This case will protect your product but it takes up a lot of room in the glove box. The snap lock that holds the Garmin to the window mount will fit all. The old snap in slots on the older units made it easier to take off the window mount and store out of sight. The slots were a lot better. I don't have room in my glove box for that.

👤It's a nice case for the unit and cords. I wish it was big enough to hold the dash mount pad and angle mounts. I found a box that was 8x8x4. This case and all the accessories were in that place.

👤The power cord is in this case. The case is strong and protects my device. This case is definitely recommended by me. If you are limited on space, it is a flaw. It works for me and fits my console.

👤I'm very happy with this case. There are straps to hold down the screen and a protective flap that folds down on top of it. There is a place for the cord. Zip it up, and it fits in my Accord. Out of sight. There is also a carry strap. What's not to like about it?

👤The case is sturdy and holds the unit. It's useful when traveling and one needs to consult the unit at night. It was padded and sized just right.

👤This fits my new device. I have a similar one for our Nuvi. It is large enough to hold the cup, but not large enough to hold it. I think you should leave it on the window. It is not a problem because I don't intend to stick it to my window.

👤As described. The 396LMT is perfect. It could fit two and have enough space for the chargers. I use the space to carry a lot of things.

👤The 'burger box' is made to give good protection. It does work better when you use the box to house a TomTom with their built-in window attachment, because you get everything in the case, where-as when you use the box to house other devices. If you leave your window sucker in your vehicle and just remove the Satnav plus charge lead from your vehicle, the downside wouldn't affect you, but if you swap vehicles a lot, you need to transport the window sucker. It is a very capable case for the Satnav unit and charge lead.

👤Avis wants more than £12 per day to hire their gps. I have had a few of the gps devices from Garmin. The same device is used. This time, it's even better when you key in the postal code. It works like magic. There is a The front clip on the mount does not want to stay on the circular mount, and sometimes it comes off. I like the colour screen and routes. The voice prompt can come too late. When you are already at that point, it says to turn left/right. Something to fix?

4. FrontTech Windshield Windscreen Suction Bracket

FrontTech Windshield Windscreen Suction Bracket

A stable viewing environment is provided by the Suction Cup Mount holder. A good view angel is provided by the compact and lightweight design of the car. The Nuvi 50 is a compatible device. If you want to move your navigation system from one vehicle to another with the least amount of hassle, you should add extra gps mounts. You get a cup holder, a cradle, and a year of warranty. You get a cup holder, a cradle, and a year of warranty.

Brand: Fronttech

👤The mount that came with the Nuvi is the same as this one. I secured the cup with clear silicone glue because it will eventually loosen and fall off. We use our gps in two different vehicles, so we bought this one to go into the second vehicle. Securing it to the windshield as low as possible and centered provides good visibility of the road and eliminates the need to look at the gps. Since it is beyond the reach of the driver, it discourages "messing" with it. The mount has a ball and sockets that allow for best viewing. I find the gps handy in that it gives me a preview of coming direction changes and indicates approximate time of arrival, having used maps for the majority of my driving. That is easy with this mount.

👤You just have to press hard to get the ball into the cradle. Since I lost the original cup, I had to look down at the cup holders to see my gps. It is better at staying in place than the original.

👤I got this a couple days ago and it seems to be working well. I'm happy to have my gps back up, but I'm not sure if it will last.

👤The device cracked when I tried to close it.

👤I use an aftermarket mounting disk on my dashboard and the original on my wife's car as regular windshield mounts. It's a quality item. The cradle snaps onto the ball with a push, and holds my Nuvi 200w very well. I know where to get a new mount if one breaks.

👤The product is described. Fast shipping. Will buy again. It's a good recommendation!

👤The original one that came with my Nuvi would fall off the dashboard after a while, so I bought this. This one holds the gps and stays attached to the car. It works perfectly and does the job without any problems.

👤Don't hold the garmin if you stick to the window.

5. APPS2Car Dashboard Friction Magellan Smartphones

APPS2Car Dashboard Friction Magellan Smartphones

The spring lock holder will fit any 3-7 inch gps and cell phones with a unique Anti-slip Jello Block under the mount that will stick on to your dashboard and be easy to clean with water. The device stays on the dash with the help of the weighted body and anti-slip bottom. The APPS2Car Beanbag Mount is easy to attach a gps / cell phone unit to your car, and five slots allow you to adjust your device in multiple angles. One of the best alternatives to mount a car on a truck is to use a cell phone. No cradle needed! No magnets, no harm to your device! The heat made the cup fall off. There is no interference with the air conditioner or the cd player. The Nuvi 1100 1200 is compatible with the portable Friction Mount. etc There is a car mount for all of the phones, including the Note 10 9 and the S10e S9 S8 Note 9. Start 45 55 60 65 500 600 Via 1405 1435 1535 1605 1635 XXL 540 330 350.

Brand: Apps2car

👤This would be a good design for a gps holder. This thing does not stay put. I quote: " Find your sweet spot and put down the sticker, then put the unit on it." The thing will become airborne after you take a 2 mph turn.

👤I have been using this for over two years. It holds my car. I drive a 2500HD. I've never had it move. Some of the reviews say that theirs moves around, but I drive around construction sites and roll down the highway, and it has always stayed in place. I'm very happy with this. I don't move my device. On hot sunny days, the mount would fall off.

👤One needs to keep a clear view of the road ahead and to obviate the vacuum holding your gps to a windshield from failing and dropping in traffic and/or repeatedly. It is easy to move in traffic. There is a It's best to wait a while, maybe forever, from sticking it to one spot on the dash or console. You will want to take it with you to another vehicle occasionally, but you will want to change it from time to time.

👤The issues that I had with this Mount may be different to what I've had before. Is it ok for other gps models? The power cord must be connected to use the traffic detector feature of the 2455. The power switch is located at the lop left of the unit and the power cord is located at the bottom left. To allow for minimum clearance between the plug and the grip "tooth" of theGPS Mount while providing access to theGPS power switch, theGPS must be shifted to one side. The grip on the opposite side of the mount does not provide a secure grip to the gps. Photoe 3. Issue #2. There is a non-stick gel substance at the bottom of the gps mount. The bottom surface of the Mount is flat. It was difficult to find a flat surface for the non-slip gel to grip on the front console of my vehicles. A better design would have been a flexible bottom surface. As dust accumulates on the substance, gel-type non-stick substances lose their effectiveness. Positives. The design is easy to store and may be a good mount for many gps, but not for a garmin. The concept is ok, but a few changes away from an excellent gps mount design.

👤I've used this to hold my electronics. It holds both securely. I need to wash the sticky area on the bottom of the mount to remove the dust after the mount slides a bit. It is guaranteed to elicit further security screening when I take it with me when I fly and rent a car. If you want to keep your luggage and carry-on bag free of TSA, you should put it in a screening bin. They can't see through it, so it gets swabbed.

👤I wanted a holder that wouldn't require me to block an a/c vent, so I chose this one. It was easy to figure out because it works like a giant clothes pin and the gps sits securely in the ridged "mouth". It's weighted with a non-slip bottom that's about the size of my open hand, so it doesn't slip when placed on the dash. I didn't want to use the peel-and-stick pad that was on the bottom. I would rather have the option of taking the gps off the dash when it's not being used, and not leaving a sticky glue mess. It's what I needed since the windshield cup on my old gps didn't fit well.

6. EKIND Replacement Bracket Compatible 010 11765 02

EKIND Replacement Bracket Compatible 010 11765 02

The plastic is very durable and strong. The ball joint is compatible with all mount pedestals. Only for the 010-11765-02 devices. Not for the nuvi 52, 55, and 55LM. Easy install without tools. Just snap it in like the original Cradle. Just snap it in like the original Cradle.

Brand: Ekind

👤To fit the clip in the holes at the bottom of the knife, you have to use a utility knife to adjust the two ridges. It was a lot cheaper than an exact fit.

👤It was difficult to get the replacement brackets onto the ball from the mount.

👤The lower part was a separate item that didn't do a good job of holding the base to the vents. The whole thing is unstable because the "legs" can't be kept close. I can't recommend to buy it. I had a similar item from another manufacturer that was so stable that it was hard to take it off from the vents. I will try to find that one and post it here.

👤It is too small. For my dog. I can try again for $6.

👤I had to disassemble it before I could fit the ball in the sockets. The compression ring made the sockets too tight. To fit the 17mm ball. Remove the silver ring, slip over the arm, and insert the ball to get the compression band back on. It was within a millimeter of returning it. At least give instructions if they are hard.

👤It works well, but in hot weather it falls off the window. I am very happy with it.

👤The information said it was compatible with the Garmin 50 LM. It did not come close. It is too small. I'm not going to send it back because it's not worth the gas. It might be ok for a large gps, but not my one.

👤It was what I needed. The gps and cupholder are in perfect condition. Came quickly.

👤I didn't really need this, but to return the item nearly equaled the cost, I was unaware that one was provided with the Sat Nav. Have kept it for the future.

7. TIHOOD Windshield Holder Suction Windscreen

TIHOOD Windshield Holder Suction Windscreen

Perfect compatible with all of the gps devices that come with a pattern. The measurement is 2.2inch and the height is 2.5inch. TheBall Socket Suction Cup holds firmly on to your windshield. ExtraGPS mounts are the perfect solution for moving your navigation system from one vehicle to another with less hassle. Don't ever lose your way. This mount will keep your Nuvi gps with you at all times. Attach the mount to your car with the help of a cup.

Brand: Tihood

👤The diameter of the third-party mounts is not specified. They are too small and loose inside the sockets, causing the gps to droop. The defect for this product is mentioned by other reviewers. The seller has a list of compatible devices for my specific model of Garmin. Theuction-power of this mount seemed to be excellent. They were returned to Amazon. I will pay twice the price to try it. This larger cup is designed to provide extra-holding-power for the larger models. The actual diameter of the actual swivel ball is 17.2mm. If you want to fool with it, you can use a loose ball with a ring and a halo of electrical tape.

👤This is the second time I have had to replace this part. Is anyone else having that problem? The first one had a pin that loosened and fell off the car. I replaced it and that one fell after an hour. It's not good when you're speeding. I am happy that this came with two and so far, so good on the first one. It comes off easily. I have a back-up when it bites the dust.

👤The gps mount has a pretty powerful suction. It works well on road trips. It's easy to remove and store when not in use. I would recommend this product to anyone who would like to have an easy way to mount their gps system.

👤The mount holder works well. Most things, as well as I, do not have an amenity. The strength of the force is very good. Most of the time, the mount holder stays in place for weeks or months. When it falls onto the dash, it's not a problem to reattach. If you want to lock the cup back in place, you have to wet the back of the cup.

👤The item's spring snapped after four hours of use. The car's navigation system could have fallen in that place and caused an accident. I wouldn't buy this package again. I only gave it a one star because I couldn't give it a half star. It is very difficult to get to a drop off point to return an item in a remote area when you are on vacation, and Amazon is not helping that. Don't buy this item.

👤The Garmen's original windshield mount needed to be replaced. They will stick to the window, usually just a small amount of gling needs to be done. The ball size is too small, that's the bigger issue. The Garmen will fall out if they stay upright. I have a piece of paper in the cup to help me get a more secure fit on the second one. Quality control isn't there for the money I spend so I'm not too worried about it.

👤The cup works. The ball is small, so the device can move a bit when you hit bumps on the road.

👤I was worried that it would be difficult and expensive to replace the attachment part in our rental car, but I was able to find a two pack that is reasonably priced.

8. Garmin Nuvi Vehicle Power Cable

Garmin Nuvi Vehicle Power Cable

It's compatible with select devices. You always have a built-in cable to connect your device. A variety of devices can be connected with a miniusb interface. Most car cigarette lighters have a 12 Volt accessory. It's compatible with the nuvi and zumo navigators.

Brand: Garmin

👤I have to say that the power cables of Garmin seem to have major problems. I bought this one because the original one that came with the gps shorted out so bad that it wouldn't work unless you played with it and held it a certain way and continued to have to play with it as it kept shorting out. This replacement does the same thing. I was able to charge the gps in the house with a cable, and it would work for a while as long as the charge lasted. I connected it to the Foval 150W Car Power Inverter DC 12V to 110V AC Converter with 3.1A dual-usb car charging port, and lo and behold, that worked! I know I have bad power cables. What are the chances? I bought a second gps from the same company as the first one stopped working after only a few uses and now I'm wondering if the power cable was the problem with that gps as well.

👤I bought the power cable so I could use it in another car. The power cable is the same as the one that came with the gps, but it has a different model number. The cable won't give you traffic updates, but it will give you gps updates. If your model has the built-in traffic receiver in the gps, then this cable will give you traffic updates as it acts like an antenna for the built-in traffic receiver. The power cables that are aftermarket may not be able to perform the antenna function. If you want to save money on a more expensive cable, it is best to check with the manufacturer to see if your model has a traffic receiver built-in. This model will work for you if you receive traffic with the TA20 cable.

👤The cord that came with my Nuvi was replaced. The first day I had a new Nuvi, I smashed the end of the cord in the car door. I was frustrated because I didn't know what cord I needed to replace to work with the traffic feature. I was able to determine that this cord would work for my Nuvi 2599LMTHD even though the part number on this cord does not match the cord that came with my unit, thanks to a helpful review by another Amazon customer. The traffic receiver built into the unit makes this cord compatible.

👤I bought this for my Nuvi1390 back in 2009, as the original power cord was not working properly. The original had the Traffic update antenna integrated into it, but the original had been discontinued. One review said it did have the traffic antenna even though the description did not show it. I used it today and it does have it, as I was getting traffic backup messages on my route through Nashville.

👤Many people have submitted reviews saying they don't get any traffic. I did my research because you were all confusing to me. This is the generic website order number for the gps with or without traffic part of the cable. There is a The part number on the cable is actually a traffic antenna. It's cheaper for them to make all cables with an antenna. If you have a built in traffic receiver, this cable is for you. I have a 2597 LMT. If you have a receiver in the cable, you'll know by the rectangular module in the cable that this won't get you traffic, but will charge. For gps units with built-in traffic receiver, there is a basic cable. The cable has an antenna built in. TheLifetime traffic antenna/vehicle power cable is stated in the "in the box" description. For units that can handle traffic. This cable has a traffic receiver in the cord, it is rectangular and inline to the cable. TheLifetime traffic receiver/vehicle power cable is stated in the description as "in the box". It looks like the GTM for HD traffic capable receivers. There is something.

Brand: Isaddle

👤I use this for a gps and it's not very strong. The gps goes off the left or right. You have to adjust it constantly. On the bottom, where you can set your phone, it slides forwards and backwards to adjust the viewing angle. It doesn't stay where you put it after a week and a half of use. I don't recommend this for a small device.

👤There were problems with all the different devices I tried to hold my gps to. The biggest annoyance I found was that the brackets that held the gps in place would often engage the screen when I accelerated or braked, throwing up different screens, or adding weird things to it. The product is not perfect, but it is better than any other I have tried, allowing me to use my tablets on my dash. I have to change it about once a day as it slips a little but that is not a big deal. I think this product is very good.

👤I really like it. When you put 3m tape on a surface it will stick and it's hard to get it off, so you have to move it. When you find a spot you want to use, make sure you do it first. I have a 7" gps and it works great.

👤I've been happy with the unit and the price. I needed a touchscreen interface for my phone, and it works well. When everything works out. I don't have to take my phone out of my pocket. Happy with that. It definitely doesn't have decent ground loop cancellation, despite the description. I had to add one more. The mount didn't work for my car. I wanted to move it between vehicles so I wouldn't use the glue every time. I bought a different one. Sometimes the unit forgets that it's connected to my phone. I have to do it again. It seems to happen after I have a new device connected, like my headphones.

👤This was used to setup the backup camera display in our truck. Doesn't adhere to the dashboard surface. The clam shell is not tight. We make the tiniest turn when our display slides out. I may have another purpose for it, I'm going to hold onto it.

👤I wanted a heads-up holder that didn't involve permanent glue or suction cups. This was the perfect fit for my car. It looks like an add-on because it matches my dashboard.

👤The corner of the dash is too wide for this to be used in, because the window slants there. The sticky pad base is good for the dash surface. The corner of the dash in my Ford Fiesta is where I will use the wider clamshell. We will see how that goes, I haven't used it yet.

👤The mount holds my RV at the perfect angle in my truck. The recess is in the middle of the dash. The mount slide has not been used in a tight turn. My cell phone is held in place when the gps is not on. It would be easy to hide it when not in use since it isn't perma-mounted. I gave the unit a 1-star because it doesn't have any power. It does not need it. Very happy.

10. Charger Compatible APPHOME Vehicle Compatibe

Charger Compatible APPHOME Vehicle Compatibe

The garmin car charger has 2 ports and a miniusb cable. You can charge three devices while on the road with your family. The Mini-B cable is built to ensure that you can connect your gps quickly. There are two extra fuses in the Nuvi car charging station in order to protect against overcharging and excessive current. There is a wide range of compatible products with the Garmin gps charging device. 2 years free replacement for quality problems and friendly customer service is what you get with the 1 x APPHOME garmin car charge. It won't provide live traffic like the original Gtm60 traffic receiver. 2 years free replacement for quality problems and friendly customer service is what you get with the 1 x APPHOME garmin car charge. It won't provide live traffic like the original Gtm60 traffic receiver.

Brand: Apphome

👤I wish I could get my hands on something that was manufactured with the expectation that it would be used for three months or more. Every time I'm on one of these things, the metal plug that plugs into the power sockets on the back of the gps comes loose and falls out of the power cable. I have come to accept that this is either a major design problem or a chronic manufacturing defect, and when I order them, I keep a spare in the glove compartment, because the battery life on new GarminGPS has absolutely tanked over the years. It's nice to have the two ports on the same charger, because the cord is still functional, but it charges properly. If I had an option to purchase a better-quality item, I would, but it looks like this entire industry has been outsourcing to a region with poor-to-nonexistent quality control.

👤If you only want to power your gps and two devices, this is a good design balance. The "Traffic" function is not supported because the power cable does not contain the traffic "antenna" that is contained in the original factory cable. If you want to use the traffic function, you need to buy a device from their website. The original factory cable has two plugs on the side, but that design has a piggyback extension. The traffic function is unaffected by the reuse of the original factory cable. This unit is short and compact, and it is long and unwieldy. This is a sweet design if you don't use traffic. It's compact, it's easy to use, and it has two plugs that are not nearly as bright as the product photo suggests. The cable doesn't make you wait for the maps to appear the way a directusb connection would, and it is compatible with the Garmin device. There are two small negatives, one of which is that traffic is not supported, and the other is that the mini-usb port is upside-down, so you need to make a small loop behind the gps to direct the cable downwards. This is easy to deal with. The cable is 2 meters long, more than 6 feet, which is too much for a small sedan, but it is convenient in a large SUV. These are not major issues. This product seems to balance a lot of design requirements at a good price.

👤The charging cord is perfect in the beginning. The cord is used to charge my gps. I put my cell phone cord in the top. After a few months, my phone started charging slower. I had issues with the gps. I would get a message that was insufficient charging because the screen would not cut off. I unplugged it for the first time and it had a cord from the gps. You can see that it is separated in the pictures. This is a common problem that I have read similar reviews about.

👤The mini-adapter for the gps is not of good quality. The van was in the shop and we had to take the gps out. The mini-plug for the actual gps was already separated from the plug unit when I removed the plug. This was the first time we unplugged the unit. The cigarette plug-in runs the gps and charges the phone, saving space and time. This product earned a 1-star because of the need for the gps. Use extra caution if you buy it.

👤I found the sockets too small for the balls of both the Garmin and the third party vent holders. I used a lot of pressure to place the holders on the mount. To fit the balls into the sockets, I had to sand them smaller. I was thinking of returning it for a new one. I thought I would sand the balls first. The manufacturer should have known the sockets were too small. I only give it 2 stars because of that. I would have given it 4-5 stars if it fit like it should. My suggestion is that the manufacturer needs to scope the sockets before releasing them. They would not have found the sockets they were looking for.

👤This was easy to install, but not what I was expecting. It was not possible for me to put my gps in the mount. If I forced it, I would break it. My husband gave me his cradle mount because he didn't use it very often, and I ordered the one I ordered, but he took it since he doesn't use it very often. This cradle mount is not a good fit for a windshield mount that is not compatible with it. I should have returned it.

👤The mount brackets were too big and small and won't fit on most of the gps displays. I decided to buy a couple of the brackets and see if I could make them fit my own, so that we could transfer it between our cars using separate mounts, because the part is not sold separately. The problem of the top tab not fitting into the slots on the back of the gps display was solved by lapping the ring on a flat surface with a sheet of 100 grit sandpaper. Check the fit of the display by removing a little of the plastic. Keep checking until it slips into place, but not sloppy. You need to tie the latch back to make sure you don't accidentally sand off the hook. I used a zip/wire. A tie. I trimmed the underside of the latch to make sure that the hook on the latch was in the correct position on the display. I shaved the inside diameter of the tabs on the ball sockets with a hobby knife and checked the fit after each trim. A Dremel tool has a small sanding drum on it. The ball on the mounts is 17mm in diameter. The diameter of the tabs on my factory Garmin brackets is 17mm. The Chinese brackets had an inner diameter of only 16mm. It's too small to fit over the ball. It snaps onto the ball after shaving down the 4 tabs. Make sure you don't remove too much material. As you work, keep checking the fit. It's worth it for the price of the brackets and the time it takes to modify them, since they won't be supplied as accessories.

👤I had to use maximum force to get the part onto the garmin, and I'm pretty sure that something would break if I tried to take it off. The part that fits onto the ball is too small and I had to force it on with all my strength. If I keep removing it, that will eventually break. If you don't have to remove it after installation, this part might work for you. I would say that the engineering specifications were poor. It's bad that Garmin doesn't care about their customers. Maybe they want you to keep buying new ones.
