For the StreetPilot C500. This cup is used to secure your device to a smooth surface. Not included is the mount.
👤Leave it to the navigator. I can't take the mount off my car because the force on my car is so strong that I can't take it off myself. The plastic lever that was used to tighten the mount fell off the assembly onto my center console. When I put the unit back in place, I noticed it had very little Torque. They have to be replaced once they break. Anyway, now. I can't remove the mount from the lever even when I release it. I would break the plastic on the replacement unit if I tried harder. I usually remove the Garmin from my car at night as the entire unit/suction cup mount and the Garmin itself were falling onto my center console due to excessive heat build up in the morning. Not anymore! ! I put the gps device in my center console storage compartment and leave the mount on the car. In the morning, I attach the gps device to the plastic ball, and that's it. The unit is much stronger than the mount that came with it. If you want to buy a navigation unit, invest $11 and buy the Suction Cup Mount from the store, as it's way more durable and tight. Keep the mount that comes with the Garmin as a backup. The replacement unit fits my device perfectly. The replacement unit will fit the part, so no worries. Thanks to Amazon for keeping the replacement parts in stock and to Garmin for manufacturing the replacement parts that naturally need to be replaced over time. I am very happy with this replacement mount. Don't hesitate to buy it. It's better than the one that came with the unit. It is amazing.
👤I had the cup for about a year. It doesn't stick to the car for more than 10 minutes. I like to use a gps device instead of my phone. I had to go back to my phone because it was embarrassing to have the gps fall into the lap of a client. It does not suck is a bad thing. Very disappointed. It's a pity.
👤This is the same version that I bought before. I'm glad I read that review. I encourage everyone to do the same. It works better than a knock off, but it costs more, so it's better to stick to the windshield. It seemed like the knock off mount would come undone when I was in heavy traffic, I don't know about anyone else. I like to use both my phone's navigation and my phone's navigation just in case the phone loses signal.
👤A year ago we bought a solar powered back up camera for our car. The original mount was not compatible with the dash and would not fit. We ordered a mount that came with a disk that you can mount to a textured surface, then mount the cup directly onto the disk. It has been great so far. The original was thrown away because it was so bad.
Don't get lost! This CD Slot mount is for keeping your NuviGPS with you all the time. Attach the mount to your CD slot. Clearing up the car's windshield is an alternative to the dash mounts. If you want to move your navigation system from one vehicle to another with the least amount of hassle, you can use an extra gps mount. The mount is not included. Only the base. It is compatible with all of the NuviGPS brackets that came with it. It is compatible with all of the NuviGPS brackets that came with it.
👤The mount from aps2car.com places the gps in a better viewing position than the original mount. It's close to my eyes, it's in the sweet spot of my variable focal glasses, and it eliminates the background glare. It's easier to see the gps screen against the dashboard. I still prefer this mount over the original because it vibrates when driving over rough roads. My MINI Cooper has a stiff suspension, and Wisconsin roads are terrible. The quality seems to be the same. This fits the CD slot in my car. I had to replace the original fastening knob with an allen-head fastening because it didn't clear the dash above the mount. Look at photos. The CD slot in my car is larger. The mount has tabs that can be adapted for a larger slot. I think that if your vehicle is new that shouldn't be a problem.
👤The CD slot on my truck is set back so that the screw doesn't have to be pressed against the button. I had to grind the three point knob to a circle to make it fit. Press against the top and bottom of the CD slot to secure it as you tighten the knob. I need the holder to be tight because it's holding a larger device than the Nuvi. I was happy with my purchase.
👤The ball fit is perfect, I bought this to mount my Nuvi 55. This unit is very good in the CD drive. It is against the law in Illinois to mount above the dashboard, and I recently found out. The top of the navigation unit in my car is mounted in this holder. The navigation device in my car does not interfere with the use of the radio. I like this mount.
👤It does what it is supposed to do, but I have concerns about it. Nobody looks at the other end because we are so worried that our model will fit. The holder's tab that fits into the CD slot is straight, but the player has a slight curve to it, so a good portion of the tab is sticking out of the player. I don't know if I want to trust the gps to stay in place over rough terrain, with the weight of the gps on the other end bouncing around. It may be the reason why it shakes for other reviewers. Make sure your CD slot is straight enough to accept most of the tab that's inserted into it, in addition to making sure your gps is compatible.
👤The CD slot was too close to the face of the CD player for the tightening knob to be close. I couldn't turn the knob to secure the unit. I replaced the knob with a screw that had the same thread and was able to secure the unit. It holds my gps. To trim the knob to a smaller diameter, you could replace the screw. The easiest way for me was the hex-head screw.
👤I have this to hold my gps in my car. It is sturdy enough to hold my gps. It hasn't moved or fallen off, it doesn't obstruct my view. It is easy to install. If you need a tighter hold on it since you put it in your CD player in your car, it doesn't use suction power. You can't use the CD player to listen to music. I listen to the radio most of the time. If you like to use your CD player in your car, then this isn't for you. It was perfect for me.
ROVE designed it in the USA. IDEAL REPLACEMENT No tools are required, just place the gps dashboard mount holder to the car, and you're good to go. 👤I use this for a gps and it's not very strong. The gps goes off the left or right. You have to adjust it constantly. On the bottom, where you can set your phone, it slides forwards and backwards to adjust the viewing angle. It doesn't stay where you put it after a week and a half of use. I don't recommend this for a small device.
👤There were problems with all the different devices I tried to hold my gps to. The biggest annoyance I found was that the brackets that held the gps in place would often engage the screen when I accelerated or braked, throwing up different screens, or adding weird things to it. The product is not perfect, but it is better than any other I have tried, allowing me to use my tablets on my dash. I have to change it about once a day as it slips a little but that is not a big deal. I think this product is very good.
👤I really like it. When you put 3m tape on a surface it will stick and it's hard to get it off, so you have to move it. When you find a spot you want to use, make sure you do it first. I have a 7" gps and it works great.
👤I've been happy with the unit and the price. I needed a touchscreen interface for my phone, and it works well. When everything works out. I don't have to take my phone out of my pocket. Happy with that. It definitely doesn't have decent ground loop cancellation, despite the description. I had to add one more. The mount didn't work for my car. I wanted to move it between vehicles so I wouldn't use the glue every time. I bought a different one. Sometimes the unit forgets that it's connected to my phone. I have to do it again. It seems to happen after I have a new device connected, like my headphones.
👤This was used to setup the backup camera display in our truck. Doesn't adhere to the dashboard surface. The clam shell is not tight. We make the tiniest turn when our display slides out. I may have another purpose for it, I'm going to hold onto it.
👤I wanted a heads-up holder that didn't involve permanent glue or suction cups. This was the perfect fit for my car. It looks like an add-on because it matches my dashboard.
👤The corner of the dash is too wide for this to be used in, because the window slants there. The sticky pad base is good for the dash surface. The corner of the dash in my Ford Fiesta is where I will use the wider clamshell. We will see how that goes, I haven't used it yet.
👤The mount holds my RV at the perfect angle in my truck. The recess is in the middle of the dash. The mount slide has not been used in a tight turn. My cell phone is held in place when the gps is not on. It would be easy to hide it when not in use since it isn't perma-mounted. I gave the unit a 1-star because it doesn't have any power. It does not need it. Very happy.
The personalized car mount will definitely stand out among the common ones, because of the crocodile skin and green eyes. The rubber base and crocodile teeth give stable support to prevent your mobile devices from being crashed. The device type that is suitable is garmin Nuvi, Via GO, and other 3-6 inch devices. It's an ideal gift choice to put it in your car. A unique design added more scores. HapGo Team is confident to give you a quality lifetime warranty.
👤Just got this. The "Croc" was installed without a problem. I think it is filled with sand rather than beans. There is a section in the rear that is made of silicone. I went over the area where I was going to install the croc with rubbing alcohol to remove any leftover grease. I put the croc after removing the film covering the sticky section. It's important to remove grease and oil from the area where the sticky silicone will rest. I used my gps to drive around for a couple of hours. The croc never moved despite the heavy gps. It works better if you have the suction cup holder with you. It adds a little personality to the vehicle.
👤The plastic spring broke after six months. I didn't get a warranty as stated in the description. Contact manufacturer for warranty. The manufacturer said that Amazon doesn't provide a link to this. You can find warranty information on the manufacturer's website.
👤I like this thing. The phone is held nice and tight. I didn't need to adhere to it because it fit in the top tray of my truck and is stable. This is what you want if you like alligator/crocodile stuff and need a phone holder.
👤The phone holder is perfect. Even without the sticky part, it stays put. I was in the Everglades and in some rough terrain, my gator head never fell off my dash, I wasn't even using the sticky part. It holds my phone in two different ways, vertically and horizontally. I photograph nature. The fact that it's a gator head was an added bonus. This holder is recommended by me. There is an update 11-4-20. The holder doesn't fit my car. It's a shame. I cleaned it up and it is now sitting on my desk as a phone stand.
👤Will not stick to dash and only has one small sticker to keep the whole thing anchored. It's lost its stickiness very quickly.
👤I bought this holder for my father, and it is very easy to use. Thejaws open and close on either a cell phone or gps. The holder has enough weight to keep it from sliding around the dash while driving, even without using the included strip. This product is very good. It is cute.
👤I just got a neat gps holder. It is very sturdy and holds my device very snug. No more people falling on the floorboard. Under normal driving conditions, it does not slide on the dash. It was very pkeased and may order more for gifts.
👤I have yet to use it because it's sliding on my dash empty. I tried the old hot glue trick, but it didn't stick to it. Money was wasted.
👤Put large screws in place.
A stable viewing environment is provided by the Suction Cup Mount holder. A good view angel is provided by the compact and lightweight design of the car. The Nuvi 50 is a compatible device. If you want to move your navigation system from one vehicle to another with the least amount of hassle, you should add extra gps mounts. You get a cup holder, a cradle, and a year of warranty. You get a cup holder, a cradle, and a year of warranty.
👤The mount that came with the Nuvi is the same as this one. I secured the cup with clear silicone glue because it will eventually loosen and fall off. We use our gps in two different vehicles, so we bought this one to go into the second vehicle. Securing it to the windshield as low as possible and centered provides good visibility of the road and eliminates the need to look at the gps. Since it is beyond the reach of the driver, it discourages "messing" with it. The mount has a ball and sockets that allow for best viewing. I find the gps handy in that it gives me a preview of coming direction changes and indicates approximate time of arrival, having used maps for the majority of my driving. That is easy with this mount.
👤You just have to press hard to get the ball into the cradle. Since I lost the original cup, I had to look down at the cup holders to see my gps. It is better at staying in place than the original.
👤I got this a couple days ago and it seems to be working well. I'm happy to have my gps back up, but I'm not sure if it will last.
👤The device cracked when I tried to close it.
👤I use an aftermarket mounting disk on my dashboard and the original on my wife's car as regular windshield mounts. It's a quality item. The cradle snaps onto the ball with a push, and holds my Nuvi 200w very well. I know where to get a new mount if one breaks.
👤The product is described. Fast shipping. Will buy again. It's a good recommendation!
👤The original one that came with my Nuvi would fall off the dashboard after a while, so I bought this. This one holds the gps and stays attached to the car. It works perfectly and does the job without any problems.
👤Don't hold the garmin if you stick to the window.
Provides stability and mobility. The dashboard is secured with a non-skid bottom. The base molds can fit any car. The arm folds down for storage. The new design is lighter in weight and more flexible. The integrated arm can be folded down to make it easier to store in an automobile or luggage. Transferring from car to car is easy.
👤Does what I hoped it would do. It was mounted on the dash. Has not moved. See the photo.
👤There are a lot of good things to say about this mount, however, there is one bad thing and it's enough for a 1 star review. After only one day on my car, the sticky underside left marks on my dash that were not visible in the hot weather. There is a place where the mount touched the dash. I haven't found a way to fix the issue yet, so buyer beware, it may cause your dash to be discolored. I don't think it's worth the risk. I'm very upset about this. Don't learn the hard way like I did.
👤Works as described. This worked well for me because of the prior reviews and videos. I found out that it was illegal to have a gps device on a car. Although I have been stopped by cops in states where it was stated to be illegal, no one has ever mentioned its placement was a problem, I have it as far as a lower left corner. I can fold it down, it's easy to install, the weight is enough to keep it in place, and it's a perfect match for the Garmin series. I have it in the same place I had the suction cup, but it's on the dash now, and I don't have to worry about mounting and removing it, as I can just put the gps down on the dash stable.
👤Doesn't stick to the dashboard. Every time I make a turn, my gps goes off the dashboard, and it detaches from the mount. The mount is no longer flat because both sides are curling up, and it doesn't stick well enough to become flat again. The item is pretty useless.
👤I have two of these and my biggest complaint is that they leave a greasy stain on the dashboard which is hard to remove. I've tried soap and water, cleaner sprays, green clean, alcohol, and other things, but nothing removes it. The base is flexible so you have to make it conform to your dashboard every time you use it. It is a good base for my units.
👤I've tried a few other mounts but this one is the best. I use it with my Nuvi. It stays put even when it goes through some turns. You can form it to your dashboard. Very happy with the product.
👤Each of our cars has one of these. I don't understand why anyone would use something else to hold their gps. The bottom is slide resistant. The base is flexible so you can fit it to the dash of your car. A great product. One review said that it slid all over the place. The person probably didn't remove the protective plastic from the base. When I received the last one, I didn't notice the plastic, but it was all over the place. The plastic stays in place if you remove it.
For the StreetPilot C500. The package has dimensions of 5.9" L x 5.5" W x 3.0" H. Taiwan is a province of China.
👤It was time for something more permanent with my mount letting go twice a week. The dash mount worked well. There is a nice flat plastic panel just below the car that has no texture. I cleaned the dash area and put a plastic base in it. For a month, the pad has been rock solid. The dashboard is pulled by the mount. I don't think it will loosen up soon. The mount ball fit the Nuvi. It's tight enough to keep the gps at the right angle. There was no movement of the arm after it was locked. I'm very pleased with the setup and would buy another one. A lot of dash materials are problematic after reading the reviews. Unless you have a nonporous flat area of smooth plastic or metal, you should get the bean bag mount. If all silicone and grease are removed first, the supplied glue is excellent. Six weeks of a solidly mounted gps ended today. The mount fell off the dashboard when the temperature went over 80 degrees. The mount is only reliable in cooler weather, so I'll have to find a better one. The mount works well and the tape doesn't. I don't think surface prep will make this work in the long run.
👤Works well. I believe that the double-sided tape issues may be unfairly blamed on Garmin. Silicone oils can be used in paints or glues. They get deep into the plastic and are hard to remove. They will keep the glue for sticking. Silicone oils are in many plastic polishing sprays. Even if your dash looks dull, there is a chance someone used a detailing spray with silicone oils as one of the ingredients. Alcohol wipes aren't very effective, but they are good for other oils and dirt. Silicone oil removal sprays are available. They aren't magic bullets. I paid about 20 bulks for a spray bottle. Even if you don't see the oil, it will be spread around. If you are a person that ignores your dash and never details it, you will have better luck than someone that details their car.
👤The plastic rim of my mount finally gave way after many years of use. I've been getting the Garmins for a long time and it would no longer hold them. The mount I ordered was delivered quickly. It had two permanent pads, like my old one, which lasted 12 years. I used a double sided thick tape to place the mount on the dashboard where the old one had been installed. The mount was rock solid the next day. The mount works. It is holding a device that I use in the motor home. I'm very pleased with the dashboard mount after the first week of use.
👤My mount popped off the dash. I put alcohol and a microfiber cloth on the dash to make sure it was clean. The alcohol was 70% off-the-shelf antiseptic isopropyl alcohol. The dash was let to dry completely. I made sure to press the assembly down tightly and hold it until my muscles cramped. I allowed it to sit overnight. I let it sit for an additional day after giving it another press downward. I snapped the gps onto the mount. The silly mount popped off again when I tried to adjust the angle of the screen. All materials have equal strength. The dash covering in my car has a fake leather texture. Maybe it grips tenaciously to some dashes and poorly on another, even if the instructions are followed closely. I am going to use my own strips of 3M VHB tape and attach it to my friction mount instead of using the suction cup mount. The gps falls whenuction cups give way. I don't like the mount. The car should have stuck to the dash. I have used a disk on this car before. The disk was stuck for at least 3 years before I removed it. I should have left the old arrangement and been more careful in keeping the cup clean and latched down.
Amazon ships in Frustration-Free Packaging. The shape of the four-arm is similar to the dashboard. The ball mount is easy to attach to your cradle. The StreetPilot C5XX series is compatible with the nvi series. One-year limited warranty.
👤The AC vent holders block the air flow and the suction cup ones come loose right away, so I've tried all of the other mounts. I had to remove the AC grate clips when I wasn't using them. The clips are difficult to remove and insert. The cup was difficult to get to stick to. I decided to give it a try and am happy I did. This is on top of the dash of my Honda CR-V. This thing didn't budge a millimeter because I took some corners hard and did some hard stops. I can remove the gps from the dashboard and put it on the floor in front of the seat to get it out of view when I am parked. Simply put it back on the dashboard and I'll leave. I finally found a mount that works for me.
👤I don't know if this product works or not. I didn't get a chance to use it because it doesn't fit the DriveSmart 65. I was going to buy the DriveSmart from the store, but on the page where it states "Frequently Bought Together", there was a friction mount listed. I assumed it was made for the gps device I bought. I was wrong. This type of mount does not fit the DriveSmart base. I would like to see it removed from the recommendation listing. I don't like wasting money.
👤This thing is great. I rely on the voice assist on my gps to help me avoid looking down while driving, but sometimes it can't be avoided. I've tried a lot of different mounts over the years and this is my favorite. It stays on the top of my dashboard and is very well weighted. I can read the gps with a quick glance. One advantage of this is that once the mounting bar is in place, you can either lock it in place or leave it unlocked and it will turn around as needed. I will probably never lock it because the mounting bar doesn't turn without help. I have a compartment in my dashboard that I can put shade in if it is particularly sunny or if I am on a bumpy road.
👤The concept is great, but the ball where the gps is attached is too small for my gps, which causes the screen to flop down. I measure the diameter of my window mount ball to make sure it's not too big. The window mount is 17.21mm. The ball is about 16.86mm. It may not seem like much, but is the difference between a screed that stays where you point it or points at the floor after a few seconds of driving? I have only read about a couple customers with the same issue, so I assume it is not widespread, or people are more tolerant than I am.
👤I've had a gps device for 6 years and have gone through several cups. Their life ends and the gps falls onto the dashboard, scaring the person driving and anyone in the car. I was a bit hesitant about this purchase, but it really is amazing. The mount can be moved to another vehicle or taken down. The Garmin is in place as it should be. If only we could get the navigation unit to start packaging these babies.
The nuvi devices have a 17mm ball mounting pattern. The sticky base has a maximum surface bond. The arm of the mount adjusts vertically. The mount package only includes the Sticky Suction Mounting Pedestal with 3-inch arm and 17mm ball head. The above listed nuvi devices should have a 17mm ball compatible holder.
👤On July 19th, this extended arm mount was received. It was attached to my 4Runner dash using a stick-on disk, but not using a suction cup. It has not released contact yet, and it has a DriveSmart 61 gps on it, but it is in the summer. It adjusts to a wide range of angles and stays locked in position. I used rubbing alcohol to clean the spot on the dash, allowed the alcohol plenty of time to dry, and put the cup in the fridge for 24 hours before loading the gps unit. If you don't lift and remount the cup, it will become sticky in it's own rite, and you may have worse luck with it staying attached. The length of the mounts arm allows me to hang the gps low off the end of the dash, and just above the AC vent, without blocking the air flow. Highly recommended.
👤The arm appears to be 3 inches longer than it is in the image. I needed a mount for the rear view monitor in the RV. The monitor was kept at an odd angle by horizontal mounts. The monitor is nicely adjusted and positioned. The cup is tacky and really sticks to the disc. In the past, I have had problems with these black-colored mounts getting too hot and even melting when placed on a car's dash or windshield. I am not sure if this one would survive under those conditions. I would suggest removing it when not needed. When not using the mount, cut out a piece of round, white paper and put it over the disc.
👤I had this for 6 years and it was probably responsible for it's eventual failure. Since no men read instructions, you have to break the seal by lifting the rubber edge, which my husband didn't do. It would have lasted longer. It lasted as long as it did and I recommend it. I wouldn't put a gps in my car. The safest place to take your eyes off the road is in the middle of the windshield.
👤It adds flexibility to where you can position your gps, which is something the mounts can't provide. The ball head is different from the other mounts because it has been extended out from the end of the arm to give clearance for the collar the ball snaps into. That increases the amount of travel that the gps can take, increasing the angle the gps can be positioned at. The second thing is that the arm and travel add to the position options on your dash or windshield. The recess at the bottom of the base is deeper than the one at the top of the base, which increases the holding force of the mount. The cup is made from a softer, more flexible material that makes it stick. On a smooth surface, I found that just pushing down on the mount without even flipping the locking lever, it already affixes itself, flipping the lever to increase the suction locks it into place. The mount has been used on both the Honda Accord and the Chevy Cruze, without the need for the included disc.
The spring lock holder will fit any 3-7 inch gps and cell phones with a unique Anti-slip Jello Block under the mount that will stick on to your dashboard and be easy to clean with water. The device stays on the dash with the help of the weighted body and anti-slip bottom. The APPS2Car Beanbag Mount is easy to attach a gps / cell phone unit to your car, and five slots allow you to adjust your device in multiple angles. One of the best alternatives to mount a car on a truck is to use a cell phone. No cradle needed! No magnets, no harm to your device! The heat made the cup fall off. There is no interference with the air conditioner or the cd player. The Nuvi 1100 1200 is compatible with the portable Friction Mount. etc There is a car mount for all of the phones, including the Note 10 9 and the S10e S9 S8 Note 9. Start 45 55 60 65 500 600 Via 1405 1435 1535 1605 1635 XXL 540 330 350.
👤This would be a good design for a gps holder. This thing does not stay put. I quote: " Find your sweet spot and put down the sticker, then put the unit on it." The thing will become airborne after you take a 2 mph turn.
👤I have been using this for over two years. It holds my car. I drive a 2500HD. I've never had it move. Some of the reviews say that theirs moves around, but I drive around construction sites and roll down the highway, and it has always stayed in place. I'm very happy with this. I don't move my device. On hot sunny days, the mount would fall off.
👤One needs to keep a clear view of the road ahead and to obviate the vacuum holding your gps to a windshield from failing and dropping in traffic and/or repeatedly. It is easy to move in traffic. There is a It's best to wait a while, maybe forever, from sticking it to one spot on the dash or console. You will want to take it with you to another vehicle occasionally, but you will want to change it from time to time.
👤The issues that I had with this Mount may be different to what I've had before. Is it ok for other gps models? The power cord must be connected to use the traffic detector feature of the 2455. The power switch is located at the lop left of the unit and the power cord is located at the bottom left. To allow for minimum clearance between the plug and the grip "tooth" of theGPS Mount while providing access to theGPS power switch, theGPS must be shifted to one side. The grip on the opposite side of the mount does not provide a secure grip to the gps. Photoe 3. Issue #2. There is a non-stick gel substance at the bottom of the gps mount. The bottom surface of the Mount is flat. It was difficult to find a flat surface for the non-slip gel to grip on the front console of my vehicles. A better design would have been a flexible bottom surface. As dust accumulates on the substance, gel-type non-stick substances lose their effectiveness. Positives. The design is easy to store and may be a good mount for many gps, but not for a garmin. The concept is ok, but a few changes away from an excellent gps mount design.
👤I've used this to hold my electronics. It holds both securely. I need to wash the sticky area on the bottom of the mount to remove the dust after the mount slides a bit. It is guaranteed to elicit further security screening when I take it with me when I fly and rent a car. If you want to keep your luggage and carry-on bag free of TSA, you should put it in a screening bin. They can't see through it, so it gets swabbed.
👤I wanted a holder that wouldn't require me to block an a/c vent, so I chose this one. It was easy to figure out because it works like a giant clothes pin and the gps sits securely in the ridged "mouth". It's weighted with a non-slip bottom that's about the size of my open hand, so it doesn't slip when placed on the dash. I didn't want to use the peel-and-stick pad that was on the bottom. I would rather have the option of taking the gps off the dash when it's not being used, and not leaving a sticky glue mess. It's what I needed since the windshield cup on my old gps didn't fit well.
Don't lose your way! This mount will keep your Nuvi gps with you at all times. Attach the mount to your car with the help of a cup. Extra gps mounts are a great solution for moving your navigation system from one vehicle to another with less hassle. The mount is not included.
👤There is an update. Under the Vegas heat, the Suction mount's efficacy failed at the 2-year mark. I didn't see BestDealUSA or Yonisun listed as brands anymore. Semson is still a seller, but it doesn't fulfill by Amazon, so there's added shipping costs. I decided to pay twice-the-price for the item and buy it from Amazon. The larger one is designed to provide extra-holding-power for the larger models. I have ordered off this page, but the large feels more solid and Sturdy than the regular ones. The box was an original one from Garmin. The ball is tight. The actual diameter of the actual swivel ball is 17.2mm. I'm pretty sure I have a good feeling about this one. The original review was not a good one. The mount I bought here is working perfectly after several weeks. The seller was Semsons and the brand was Yonisun. It is still very hot in Vegas. I bought a new mount on Amazon in July of 2016 from this very URL. The seller was Semsons and the mount was called BestDealUSA. It failed under the heat of Vegas. I will not complain about the two years of life for a $5 mount. Solid suction was held 100% of the time until it failed. I got my money's worth. I have learned over the years that these mounts are very susceptible to heat, and that the least amount of warping from heat causes them to be unable to hold good suction. Some are built better than others, and some hold better and last longer. None of the third-party mounts I've ordered have come with any packaging or maker's marks that would prove a specific brand or manufacturer. Who knows what brand of mount is being sold? I don't believe that all these third-party sellers are selling the same mount. Some of them are being rated as working well because other raters are reporting the product as failing after a week. I ordered a similar mount from the same seller that I ordered the previous one from, in order to try and get a better one. I was wondering if the seller would still be pushing old stock under the new brand name. Maybe that seller has higher standards for the product it sells. Or whatever. I don't know if it helped or not. I'm holding tightly and consistently, despite other reviewers saying their mount was not good. There is aSIDE. I have found that the best way to mount the mount to the car is to use a Silicone Sealant like the one I have found from Permatex Clear RTV. You can get it at most auto hardware stores. It doesn't work well because of too much, too little. With the Goldilock amount applied, it improves the hold and endurance of the cup. When the cup fails, it's a chore to clean the windshield. That is usually under summer heat. Most of it will peel off easily, but the rest requires a lot of work. I don't fool with it anymore. If you get desperate, I suggest you try that.
